Our farm is a beef and sheep farm. We live 5-7 minutes (drive) South of the Kaikoura township. We are located opposite a local surf break. We have 6 farm dogs, two cats, a French Bulldog, cattle and sheep. What we need help with is the gardening, feeding lambs chicken egg collecting & egg cleaning, chicken coop nest clean out, tending (weeding) to young avocado trees, stacking wood and general house keeping. We would prefer a couple as we don't have a whole lot of time to entertain as we have a new baby and both work.

Private house and garden on the Esplanade in Kaikoura. 1 km from Encounter Kaikoura (Dolphin swimming, albatross watch) and 2-3km from a seal colony. My home Was a mini backpackers for many years, during which my late wife, Edie, and I hosted guests from 60 countries. Some of those people I am still in touch with. I no longer take paying guests but greatly value the company which Helpx offers me. Minimal work required, in garden or house, in exchange for accommodation in self contained flat with 2 bedrooms, shower, laundry and well equipped kitchen. Free wifi.
I had guests here right through the Covid19 lockdown (2 months) and it was a happy time. I was in no hurry for them to leave, but obviously they had to move on eventually, and now my latest helpers have also move on, though they were happy to stay longer than they originally intended.

We are a family run high country sheep and cattle station in one of the most remote parts of NZ. Kaikoura is our nearest town but access is by four wheel drive October thru to May only, so we often use small aircraft to get to town. .
We have two wild children aged 5 and 7 who are schooled via The correspondence school. Any Teachers who would like a challenge are welcome to come and give us help teaching!
We have many animals and we are passionate about farming. There are often lots of different people around helping and working. Jobs include, gardening and general landscaping, painting and renovation, firewood, teaching kids, farm work, horse work and many others. Paid work opportunity available for suitable persons. Horse skills would be a real advantage. Wonderful hiking opportunities in spare time. All meals provided in a brand new shared staff accommodation, we consider people a part of our family. We have no cell service and have off grid electricity but we do have wifi. ... more inside

We are a sheep and beef farm situated on the beautiful Kaikoura Coast 30 minutes north of Kaikoura. If you’re keen on beautiful scenery and have a love of the outdoors, this could be for you. We have three children aged 8,6,4 and run a busy farm.
We are looking for a couple or two friends, who are confident and show initiative. Jobs would involve gardening, general farm work, firewood, general DIY. Spring is a busy and interesting time on the farm and helpers are always needed. Lambing and calving has begun and we would love some help to feed our 30 pet lambs! We are seeking short term helpers, 5-7 days.
You would have your own accommodation in a small cosy cottage (see in photo below) so that you can have time to yourselves to relax at night. We'll provide beautiful homegrown fruit, vegetables and meat. A car is a must, as we would like to give you the opportunity to explore our beautiful area in your down time and enjoy many of the local sights in our piece of paradis... more inside

On my five-acre lifestyle block, I have a small collection of animals, including: sheep, pigs, deer, llama, alpaca, collie dog and a few birds (30-40 animals, depending on time of year, and babies!). I also have six unusual rental units and take guests out Llama Trekking.
You will spend about 20% of your time with the animals and guests; 20% housekeeping; 60% on projects, gardening and maintenance work. There is also a small additional voluntary aspect to the work for a few animal and garden oriented tasks.
Animal care = feeding, mucking out cages and paddocks, basic health work eg: grooming, nail clipping.
Project & maintenance work = random jobs around the farm, eg: General DIY, fence mending, tree/grass/hedge cutting, painting, weeding and working the veggie plot, group cooking, cleaning, etc. I occasionally have jobs requiring carpentry, labouring, building skills, etc.
Vegetable growing - we are in the final stages of completely revamping our vegetable growing spaces, incl... more inside

I am situated in the beautiful Clarence Valley on the North Kaikoura Coast with easy access to ocean, river and mountains. I am looking for people with practical skills in gardening, landscaping, property maintenance and cleaning to help me develop and run a busy rural accommodation. Outdoor activities are aplenty and your food is usually fresh from the garden. Musicians particularly welcome!I prefer to speak with helpers by phone before they come to ensure a good 'fit' with our needs.

Lavendyl is Kaikoura's lavender farm and is located on the foothills of Mt Fyffe 7kms outside Kaikoura township.

We have around 4 acres of developed land and the rest is a derelict vineyard. The developed area consists of a shop, 2 B&B cottages and the lavender gardens. We aim to garden organically.

We have 4 sheep and Bonny the dog. We hope to have a new flock of chickens soon.

We need help in all areas of the business so there is plenty of variety, including property maintainance. You'll stay in the main house or sleepout and all meals are provided in return for 5 hours, 6 days a week.

The lavender harvest will start in the next few week with lavender being cut for drying. We are also working in some eco fencing projects which needto be continued.

We understand you are here to experience NZ and all it has to offer so will do our best to help you make the most of your time in Kaikoura. That way we all benefit.
