We're always interested in hearing from strong, young people willing and able to help us in the garden and on the farm - those who are also interested in sharing experiences and culture in a happy atmosphere. We prefer non-smokers and omnivores!

Over the years, we have enjoyed the company of about fifty HelpXers. We especially enjoy helping new arrivals settle into Australia during their GAP year, giving non-intrusive support and advice. Many of our HelpXers return for a second and sometimes third visit!

Itís too cold to take anyone at present (June) but we are starting to think about who might like to come here when the weather warms up. This year, we shall not take anyone until late October because we shall be in Europe ourselves (with others looking after the farm) but we would love to hear from anyone planning now and interested in spending time with us then.

Our farm is a dairy farm with 250 cows average.
We are used to hosting people, we regularly have students from France who come to us for training.
Accommodation is in the house as part of the family. We work together and eat together. The hours are flexible, but the morning and afternoon milkings are neccessary each day, depending on the length of stay.
We are a very outgoing sporting family, love meeting new people and learning about their culture, whilst introducing ours.
We have 3 children, Craig, Jodie and Dale, who still lives at home, the other 2 are independant.
Our closest town is Drouin, which is 16 km away and Warragul which is a bit larger and is 20 km away.
General things we do through the day as well as the milking are, feeding the calves, feeding hay and silage to the cows, general farm repairs as neccessary.
We as a family love the beach and have a house there as well which we spend time at. We are keen surfers and would be happy to take helpers with us to give... more inside

We are now back offering Helpx after some time off due to property renovations at Our equestrian centre which is only 15 minutes from Melbourne's inner city with a car and 40 minutes by public transport and 5 minutes from the airport - so you can always stay for a few days on your way to or from Melbourne.

We run a full care horse agistment and training centre with fabulous horse facilities. We offer daily riding lessons and hold weekend riding clinics. We also run a monthly sales barn where people can bring their horses for sale and we have two Warmblood stallions at stud.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone interested in farm and horsework in Melbourne.

We expect 5 hours of work in return for food and accommodation. The normal hours are 7.30 to 12.30, unless there is a specific project then this may change but usually not. This gives you plenty of opportunity to visit the city or surrounding areas in your time off.

The bulk of the work will be general farmwork l... more inside

I have one room for helper for the month of July available
I have a waterfront cafe/restaurant where you will be working approximately 4 to 5 hours a day 4 or 5 days a week with week ends off.
The job is simplistic for those who are inexperienced and consists mainly of helping the chef, washing dishes. waiting on tables, for those more confident and who are proficient in English there can be some serving and counter food preparation if you so desire.
In all cases you are an extra and the staff love this as there is less work for them. All the transport to and from the cafe is provided and the cafe is 3 K from the CBD.
I live in a modern 4 bedroom house in Werribee, where workers have their own room and toilet. I have free WIFI. I live 500m from the station, where a train runs to Melbourne every 20 min, 22 hrs a day.

About 4 times a year I go to Ųutback" Australia where I legally hunt and shoot feral animals and these trips last for about 8 days, if desirous and suitable he... more inside

We have helpers most of the time here and currently have a Mexican man living here.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM HELPING HERE AND SHOWING THAT YOU ARE A GOOD WORKER????? YOU get a REFERENCE from us , which is an AUSTRALIAN reference and will lead to LOTS of other work.

BUT... We NO LONGER TAKE HELPERS WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND RURAL LIFE. You can't learn farming in a week, so if you have experience with rural living OUTDOORS then we would like to hear from you.

WE DO NOT IN ANY WAY TOLERATE LAZY PEOPLE.

WE DO NOT NEED CHILD MINDING,COOKING,IT SKILLS OR BEING TAUGHT ANOTHER LANGUAGE.

We are also university educated and experienced farmers. We DO NOT NEED YOUR ADVICE about HOW TO FARM.

We have very dear friends who come each weekend to help VOLUNTARILY on the farm with gathering wood and building .

We live on a farm which provides a great deal of our food. We always have meat ( chicken, pork, beef, lamb) in the freezer and eggs ( duck , guinea fowl, pheasant, hen) and g... more inside
