I am a chap who immigrated from Austria some 28 years ago. My wife is from Sri Lanka. I have been mining and cutting Opal at Coober Pedy for the last 26 years, as well as doing other paid jobs along the way.
I am interested in people which are tough and like hard work such as building Rock Walls, helping with tiling, rendering/ woodwork, mechanics and also going out to the fields to mine for Opal.I also speak German, of course.

At the moment lots of backpackers and students are volunteering for bed and food just to be able to stay in Australia during these critical times with covid 17. Coober Pedy is the perfect place to hide out until things get better as we have not been affected at all.

Right now I am also interested in people to clean my B+B Accommodation on a daily base.

This place has always been the last frontier and can be rough for people used to a sheltered city-live, but we always treat people fair and square. We like to be treated the same.

We live in country South Australia in Bordertown a prosperous town of around 6k people. Bordertown is on the Dukes Highway between Melbourne and Adelaide near the Victorian border. There is a local tourist information service in town that is very helpful to visitors. We refer our guests there so they can obtain specific information about the many things you can do and see in the region.

About us and our home - Hello we are John and George and live separately on a substantial sized eccentric 100yo property of around an acre in the middle of Bordertown with a lot of strange children ... 2 cats 3 dogs 2 sheep... The number of permanent residents seems to keep growing.

Our place is in a perpetual state of disorganisation and moving disaster area... We love it and have a bit of fun ... get down sometimes-move on. As we get time we sort things fix things do new stuff all with the help of our guests of course. Its hard to imagine someone coming here with whatever skills or no skill b... more inside

I am currently Looking for helpers from now onwards

I have secondary cancer in lung, both Adrenal Glands and have now reached the stage that chemo is no longer working so I am now Palliative and looking for extra help with meals each day & keeping my home clean and tidy. There may also be some gardening/weeding.

Pain management makes me very exhausted and tired and do spend a lot of time resting. I live in Holden Hill one of the North Eastern Suburbs which is approx 13km from City so its not rural and nor is it a farm, but it is peaceful.

I am near shops and all facilities. Photos are of my old place. Have not got around yet to doing some photos of new place as waiting till I have done garden.

I have a cat that is named Bobby and he is now 3 years old and is quite a character. As he was mistreated by previous owner He tends to be quite timid of any strangers though so may take time for him to go to you.

Spare room does only have a single bed. There is Lim... more inside

Thank you for your interest in volunteering.

Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. In the meantime we had Virus refugees staying with us who now had the option to go to the Northern Territory. All current helpers are now moving on and we have some places again.

This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature.
We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them.

Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. Ask us early as we have many requests and are not always but often booked quite a bit in advance.

We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fru... more inside

We have vacancy now for workers - September through November.
If you are willing workers and enthusiastic about life and experiencing Australia we'd love to meet you. We love to share a laugh and a drink or two after a good day's work.
We prefer to have workers for about 2 weeks but will negotiate depending on the work available and our mutual compatibility.
Sally and I (Lynn) live on a lifestyle property in the hills south of McLaren Vale. We have lots of native bush, fruit trees, large vegetable gardens, a paddock being rehabilitated with local tree planting and a flock of chooks and a 7 year old Red Heeler dog named Hilly who loves people. Kangaroos and birdlife abound and we have the occasional visiting echidna.
We have a guesthouse on the property which provides accommodation for our working guests - 2 queen bedrooms, shared bathroom and large lounge with TV, combustion heater, pool table and kitchen facilities. Helpers are expected to keep the guesthouse clean. There ... more inside

Horse/animal lovers will be in heaven, helping on a farm in the Riverland, South Australia.

UPDATE: Due to the current virus situation and myself being in a higher risk category...I will only be able to consider helpers that are already in SA, have their own car and preferably have been isolated. Thank you for your understanding in these trying times.

Experience what itís like to be on an outback station, while still being close to civilisation.

I am on a farm in one of the Mallee areas of the Riverland, South Australia; in between Waikerie, Swan Reach and Blanchetown . It is a peaceful area, with beautiful sunsets and lots of wildlife to see; such as kangaroos, emus, many varieties of birds and if you are lucky; echidnas, wedge tail eagles and goannas. Waikerie is our closest town being approx. 27kms away (around 15-20 minutes by car).

My daughter and I have 7,000 acres that is mainly used for cereal crops and sheep (part of it is run by my daughter and her husband an... more inside
