We have a vacancy for one English student-Helper from September 16 until September 28.
We only accept Helpx members who come to study English as private, paying English students. I am a qualified teacher for people of other languages, and have taught English privately in our home for over 36 years.

If you are a conscientious student, you can learn more English in two weeks of private English lessons with me than in several months of classes in a city language school. I teach conversational and business English, and English for specialised employment, or a mix of all three - itís your choice. As a private student, you learn one-to-one, with lessons organised to cater to your own special needs. It is nothing like being in school and is always enjoyable.

You have the bonus of being totally immersed in English, and able to ask questions and receive extra, free help with the language while we are working or socialising together after lesson time.

Animal encounters and local heritage...
Named for the windsong through the magestic Pepper Trees surrounding the homestead, our Estate of 10 hectares is nestled between the scenic Barossa Valley, famed world over for its fine food and wines, and the mighty River Murray, the third longest navigable river in the world and Mecca for river fishing and water sports.

Our homestead is adjacent to the River Marne, feeding into the Murray and habitat to myriad bird species and Australian wildlife. In season you may even catch fresh water yabbies in the waterholes. In the rural landscape you can explore century old farm relics and disused mines... may be gold in those hills yet. This is true `Big Sky` country, a painters delight, with dawns, sunsets and stars - Cambrai was recently internationally acclaimed as a star gazing venue for its clean pollution free atmosphere, so bring your star charts!

You will slumber in a pleasant country style bedroom furnished with bunk-beds and adjacen... more inside

7.5 acres surrounded by hundreds of hectares of farmland and a pine forest. This is a small horse property with one owner who works full time. Two horses, two chickens, a cat and a peacock share the property and there is a small cottage currently tenanted by an older lady. It is extremely peaceful and quiet with loads of serene walking trails to explore. It is a 5 minute drive to the local shops (Balhannah), 15 minutes to Mt Barker and 35 minutes to the city. The accommodation is a queen size room with built in wardrobes and brand new furniture. The bathroom is shared with the host and has a large shower and bath. Needs own transport and would prefer if they supply their own food. Very flexible on hours and additional duties dependent on preferences. Would love someone who can chainsaw but not critical. Flexible also on the length of the stay.
