Thank you for your interest in volunteering.

We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them.

We are now fully booked until March 2020 with places available mid April again..
Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. Ask us early as we have many requests and are not always but often booked quite a bit in advance.

We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns and two goats on paddocks. Our beautiful donkeys unfortunately passed away this year from old age, Sera just 2 weeks ago. We are now contemplating what we will replace the donkeys with and might get soon some tame Alpacas.

HAVE YOU BEEN KISSED BY A KANGAROO?

We have a large Aboriginal art gallery with didgeridoos and artifacts, opal shop and the Kangaroo Orphanage in Coober Pedy, the OPAL capital of the world.

We are always looking for help with a variety of work - odd jobs, cleaning the yard, some light construction work, fencing, gardening, painting, helping out in the gallery, household jobs and/or general housekeeping. Being able to operate power tools, do some concreting or tiling and work without supervision will be considered a big asset. There is always something that needs doing around the place. Your working hours vary according to the weather, averaging approximately 5 hours per day with plenty of time off to explore Coober Pedy. Time allowing (and commitment from our helpers) we will also take you on a 'tour' of some interesting places in the region.

You need to have a good sense of humour, be prepared to laugh a lot and be prepared to live with kangaroos jumping around... more inside

We only accept Helpx members who come to study English as private, paying English students. I am a qualified teacher for people of other languages, and have taught English privately in our home for over 36 years.
Our next vacancy will be from November 25.

If you are a conscientious student, you can learn more English in two weeks of private English lessons with me than in several months of classes in a city language school. I teach conversational and business English, and English for specialised employment, or a mix of all three - itís your choice. As a private student, you learn one-to-one, with lessons organised to cater to your own special needs. It is nothing like being in school and is always enjoyable.

You have the bonus of being totally immersed in English, and able to ask questions and receive extra, free help with the language while we are working or socialising together after lesson time.

You will be living in a peaceful, friendly community instead of ... more inside

This is a sheep farm located in the centre of Kangaroo island , which is off the coast of South Australia. The closest city is Adelaide.

I also grow potatoes and catch freshwater crayfish as part of the family business.
Accommodation is a four bedroom house just for helpers and there is also a car for touring the many sights and beaches on kangaroo island.
Accommodation the car and food is supplied in exchange for 3 -4 days work per week.
There is plenty of time for natural swimming on the many secluded beaches and I can provide surf lessons if you would like to try.

I am a retired midwife who has travelled quite a bit in the past and enjoy meeting other travellers. I have 1 hectare of garden around my off grid house as well as approx 0.2 hectares of Vegie garden and assorted fruit trees. I have chickens guinea fowl and ducks and a rather old dog. I would love some help with the gardens and/or cooking and cleaning.
You will have your own room with an ensuite bathroom, there is good mobile reception and wifi internet.
My property is in the McLaren Vale wine region close to beaches and national parks. There is a walking/bike track right next door and the town is a five minute walk away. There is public transport to the city but a car is necessary to access most tourist sites.

I am offering free accommodation at Semaphore, a gorgeous seaside suburb, in exchange for 2 hours work per day and dog walking. I provide cooking supplies for your meals.

Jobs would include painting, cleaning, and dog walking.

My house is lovely stone villa minutes from Semaphore Road and the Beach... close to shops, restaurants and bars.

I also travel to Sydney on a regular basis for a few days or a week at a time so you would have the house to yourself, with my gorgeous cat and dog.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, please text/call me.
