Hi Helpers,

*Helpers needed*

We are looking to host again. The weather is warming up beautifully now that we are in Spring! We are still busy trying to get organised tidying the land up so we can start building infrastructure.

28/07/2019: Our second time hosting went great (thanks Catherine and Stephane). We now have houseguests so we will not be hosting much between now and November.

06/04/2019: Today we said farewell to our very first helper Ran. She was a great help!

We recently (Feb 2019) moved to a beautiful 34 acre farm located only 20 minutes south of Hobart which we are planning on turning into our dream homestead. The property is very quiet with two beautiful dams and lots of bird life. Our long term vision is to create a sustainable homestead that is largely self-sufficient, especially in terms of food production. I hope to have a large orchard and market garden, in addition to bees, chickens, a house cow and other livestock.

The two of us live i... more inside

Do you love nature? what about off grid living? How about great food and great company? How about learning some new skills? We need your help with our dream. We have built an earthship (with lots of help already) and want to share in this type of building design. We are located in a gorgeous mountain/ bush setting, totally off grid. We make electricity from solar, and our water comes from a mountain spring. The taskswe do are different everyday as we hope to teach many things to our fellow travellers. Some jobs include; cob making, bottle brick making, rendering, gardening, landscaping, working on a hugle wall (a living wall), horse care, harvesting and much more. No experience necessary, just your creative loving hands. Though, if you are skilled in carpentry, construction and earth dwellings then we could use your expertise. Such is the life on a property in the bush. You can sleep in a tipi, or a hut and camping space is also available. In December you may need your own tent as o... more inside

We are Oliver and Fiona Stocker. We live with our two children aged 12 and 15 on a five acre farm in the Tamar valley, a wine region in northern Tasmania, just outside Launceston.

We run a farm and food business called Langdale Farm. We keep rare breed pigs in pens in our bush block. From the meat, we produce premium pork products including sausages and bacon, using traditional techniques. Everything is done by hand and on the farm, including smoking the bacon.

We have a vegetable garden, fruit trees and gardens around the house, chickens and a dog and cat.

We are looking for help through November. Throughout that month, we take a stall and marquee to events, and cook our burgers and sausages and sell them as ready-to-eat food. This is fun, but also hard work, as we end up working seven days a week. The work on weekdays is in getting product ready and just keeping everything running on the farm.

We're looking for two people to help lighten the load.
