NON SMOKERS ONLY!
I (Yvonne) have a house in West Launceston, it is not a farm! Helpers assist me with cleaning, tidying & housework, helping look after Airbnb guests, gardening, weeding, feeding the chooks & cats, food preparation and cooking.
My house is a bit untidy and cluttered so I need YOUR help for a few days to a week or so to keep it clean and tidy. Work hours depend on what I need you to do, so you must be flexible, but you will work an average of four hours a day. Minimum stay three nights.
I can collect/deliver you to/from anywhere in Launceston, the local bus depot or Launceston airport. You will be rewarded with good food and a friendly household. My homestay uni student can also speak Mandarin Chinese.
Helpers MUST be NON SMOKERS. Due to allergies and my work with food I WON'T accept any helpers who smoke! No drugs or excessive alcohol consumption allowed. This is NOT the place for the 'party crowd', 'pampered Princesses' or 'lazy layabouts'! We have a busy, so... more inside

Please do not include me in a group message to other hosts. Helpers need to provide evidence they have their own work cover/accident insurance, protective work boots, clothing and sun screen lotion.
Planet Sandi overlooks the rural village of St Marys near the north east coast of Tasmania. I am a retired gardener who is developing my retirement retreat which I am happy to share with visitors. I enjoy meeting travelers, fishing, cooking, art, dogs, cycle touring, red wine, blue cheese, dark chocolate and being content with my world. I need assistance with landscaping, construction and maintenance work to maximize the potential of my property. Helpers have the choice of three double bedrooms with shared bathroom. Mixed diet which at times includes meat, dairy and grains and shared cooking is encouraged. No smokers or illegal drug users. Alcohol in moderation is okay but you provide. We are an oyster farming family who live on a coastal sheep property in regional Tasmania. We would like help in October on our oyster farm, which is located in Norfolk Bay, Dunalley. There might also be a limited amount of other farm tasks. We are happy with an average of 4 hours work each day - some days longer, some shorter... weekends are all yours.

We have a small separate cottage, which is self contained accomodation for helpers and occasional use of a car. You can easily walk up the green hills of our farm, or down the paddock to the beach from the little house, so you can be totally independent if you like!

Dunalley is a little seaside town 45 minutes from Hobart and our farm is a beautiful, historic sheep property. We have 2 busy, small boys, a dog and lots of sheep and free range pet turkeys.

### First helpers vacancy in August ...Thanks ...!!

...The Quiet Retreat , a Lifestyle Property...!!!

With only the help of real hard working wwoofer's/HelpX's , I started to built the house and clear the land , so this place is a BIG credit to all my helpers who worked hard , enjoyed their stay and left their footprint..!!!

As a wwoof host for 25 years , now I feel that for the helpers who come here , maybe , apart from the usual work , self improvement/development could be one of their priorities... a good library of books is available and some very nice music...

In the past I practiced Vipassana meditation/looked at Zen/Osho/Gurdjieff etc ...some of it is incorporated into the life here..LOL..

Bush walking , connecting and appreciating nature, gardening, yoga , that is my wife's specialty...

A Private Forest Reserve , 80 acre property, not a farm , not a party place , very very quiet here , lots of bush and lots of native animals...yes, wallaby's , wedge tail... more inside

TODAY: Spring is in the air and the daffodils have started to flower. Time to get ready for the early spring planting of potatoes in September.

July 2019 Was wet wet wet. We had a number of frosty mornings and glorious days, just enough to keep you going. Garlic is looking good as we have kept up with the weeding, it although has hibernated and is waiting for SPRING! (me too!)

4 June 2019 Winter has certainly had its way with us! Three days of sun and now back to rainy days for the next week! Temps have been not too bad and with the fires burning brightly we have been pretty snug. Waiting for the new kitchen cabinets to be pre made and ready to be picked up in flat pak form. Lots of putting together and fitting to be done soon! Screwdriver anyone?
