Do you like to work in the garden? Do you like dogs? I take in rescue dogs and then rehome where I can, you definitely need to like animals. At the moment I'm in need of help in the garden and with the rescue dogs I have here.
They live in the house with us and they go to new homes as they become ready.

I am a strictly non smoking place both inside and out. Smokers including those who vape, will be asked to leave. I have had several helpers here who think it is not a problem to vape or smoke if they are in a different room or outside but I really find it makes me feel quite sick and the clothes of smokers also smell which then comes into the house.

Can you speak English, do you like animals and working outdoors?

I ask for about 5 hours a day and am in The South West of England a lovely area in the country close to Dartmoor National Park and also the Devon/Cornwall border. very scenic close to great walking country. 2km away there is a huge supermarket which sells ... more inside

A bustling place with lots going on! Two to four of us live here, and there are volunteers who live locally. We run a residential centre for courses and learning holidays, there`s a weekly community cafe, and a Yoga studio. We have 3 acres of garden, outbuildings and paddocks. Hens, ducks, Kune kune pigs, and a few sheep. Vegetables grown on raised beds and in a polytunnel. Would appreciate volunteers to help in garden and kitchen. Help is also with general catering, cleaning, and other domestic duties. Always lots of washing up.

We can take helpers for short or long visits (if they are the right person/people!) We also have working weekends about once a month. We invite potential volunteers to look at our website before applying, and tell us why they have chosen us in particular.

Hi HelpXers,

*Please also see latest update and plans at the bottom of our profile. Thank you!

Mum (Pat) and I (James) moved here about 7 years ago to get some land, escape the busy city consumer lifestyle and start on a path of sustainability and self-sufficiency. My partner Holly is also staying here with us. We are starting to produce our own organic food, water, energy, materials and much more. Basically trying to remove the dependencies we have on big corporations and the failing economic system. I believe we need to re-establish community, sharing, loving and helping each other, rather than pursuing our manufactured need for money, big TVs, fast cars and bling etc!

Short term we are looking for someone to help with jobs such as weeding, potting up, wood chipping, splitting logs, digging, housework, woodwork/repairs, strimming, re-pointing the stone walling and paving slabs, hedge cutting etc. Being familiar with basic tools such as a saw and drill would be useful.

I (Laura) live with my two daughters (10 and 7) in a farmhouse in a very beautiful part of Kent. We have 4 ponies, a dog and some chickens which I would like some help with while I work and take my children to and from school and their various different activities.
It is a quiet and peaceful place (we also live right next to Bedgebury Forest which is 1,400 hectares and which is beautiful for walking and mountain biking in). You would be able to spend time in the very beautiful local villages (Goudhurst) and towns (Cranbrook, Tunbridge Wells) and visit the coast (Rye, Hastings). Sometimes (once or twice a week) I would like you to be at home with my two girls for up to two hours while I run errands or visit friends.
Most of all we would like you to enjoy being part of our family during your stay.
