Hi, my name is Andy and I have been a hosting people for around 6 years on this site and through other organisations as well. I have been lucky as during this time most of the people who have stayed here have become great friends and have left me with some great memories.

I am a liberal person who appreciates spending my time with people with a similar outlook on life, people who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. People who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I consider myself a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and so the journey continues :-)

I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film, writing, watching documentaries, current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy, reading and anything technical. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and... more inside

Help needed with house work, some painting, polishing, cooking. Garden beds, for digging over.

Couple of hours a day at most; whatever you would like to do, or just come to stay. Buses to local towns from the door. Bicycles ready available.
Enjoying (French)Boules and Scrabble is helpful, and good for English learning.
It is good for Stonehenge/Salisbury/Bournemouth/Winchester and the Jurassic Coast.

I am currently looking for helper/s for the apple juice cider crop from now onwards. It is not a large one, but it is more than I can do myself. It`s an interesting procedure at a small level, and you may like to help. Drink as much Cider as you like, but it is my own special. If you think you may have your own Apple or Grape crop one day, then my own expertise is quite sufficient to show you how, for the future. Come to stay, Couple/single/female.
Thanks... more inside

Update:

We need one volunteer ASAP, and shifts are gonna be different now cos we have 3 or 4 volunteers now. We will update shifts info soon but we can explain you on the interview.

Usually we don`t select helpers until we know when the current helpers are leaving, we know it`s not good for planning but it`s good for the current helpers since they don`t feel pressure to leave and that is more important for us.

Anyway you can apply any time and if we like your profile we keep in touch and let you know when we have any position available

We are looking for a helper or couple from now until the end of August

In 2013 our village bought the pub and it is now run by the community providing not only a traditional pub, but also a cafe and Post Office in the heart of the Peak District National Park with walking, mountain biking (bike hire available locally), running, climbing and fishing on the doorstep. The village has good train and bus connections, with various tourist attractions assessable by public transport.

We welcome helpers who can help us in the cafe, bar, kitchen, general repairs (we currently have quite a few painting jobs) or the grounds, where we have an aspiration to create both a kitchen garden and a cutting garden. If you want to get out of the heat our cellar needs painting!

A sole occupancy bunkhouse with small kitchen, including washing machine and bathroom with bath and shower is available. In exchange for 24 hours work a week we provide facilities to make your own breakfast, and provide lunc... more inside
