*1 volunteer needed for 1 month from August 22nd*

*1 volunteer needed for TWO WEEKS from 22nd August*

We run a beautiful boutique bunkhouse on the Isle of Skye, in the port village of Uig.
There are gorgeous views of Uig bay and the sea through large windows which surround the main living and dining areas. A large wood burning stove and comfortable furniture give a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bunk beds themselves have been custom made to provide wonderful sleeping areas complete with individual lights.
Our location is ideal for exploring the North of Skye, with the Fairy Glen & Rha Falls only a short walk from the property.

We are looking for someone who has fantastic cleaning skills and an eye for detail, as well being friendly and welcoming to guests.

Mostly the tasks will be helping cleaning- but as everything is so new, it is a joy! As we are now getting busier there will also be help needed on reception welcoming guests, so a reasonable level of English ... more inside

Hi, my name is Andy and I have been a hosting people for around 6 years on this site and through other organisations as well. I have been lucky as during this time most of the people who have stayed here have become great friends and have left me with some great memories.

I am a liberal person who appreciates spending my time with people with a similar outlook on life, people who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. People who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I consider myself a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and so the journey continues :-)

I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film, writing, watching documentaries, current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy, reading and anything technical. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and... more inside

I am in need of a Helping hand companion who wants to talk and improve their spoken English in the garden, house or around the smallholding in return for free board and lodgings in August, September and/or October. The person may travel with me around the UK while helping me to complete some maintenance jobs.
The Helper will be accommodated in a Self contained House (not living with host!) which has downstairs and upstairs bedrooms, a kitchen, utility room and wet room with shower also bathroom with bath and private lawn in back garden. Each week we will buy food for you to cook for yourself.( We find this works well as it gives those trying to improve their English speaking a rest from continually trying to talk in a foreign language to us all the time and it also means that they DO ONLY help for 5 hours each day and then are free to do as they please)

If you simply want to stay for a few days and not help we have rooms to rent at ten pounds per day per person, self catering ... more inside

The work will mainly involve building/decorating/DIY. But also cleaning the house, gardening, shopping, furniture restoration and whatever else is needed

I am very interested in hosting professionals with building skills. Plumbers, plasterers. carpenters, electricians, bricklayers, builders etc. I can host people for long periods (6 months +) if needed.

For professionals I am also interested in paying for extra hours worked, so please contact me if this is something you are looking for.

I would ideally like someone with some experience, but this is not essential.

In exchange for free accommodation and food, I would like 4 hours a day help. If you have experience that would be excellent, if not then as long as you're hard working and quick to learn then I can guide you (I've renovated a few houses before)
Please feel free to contact me for a chat to discuss in more detail the work and how we can help each other

Please read this carefully so that I`m able to offer you what you need. This is a lovely area to visit.
Please email initially.

We`re offering two options!
Firstly, we have a lovely Victorian rural cottage, in the middle of Kent, on top of a hill, which is in the process of being improved and decorated throughout. It has beautiful views, a large private garden, and everything you need to have a comfortable stay. There`s a sunny kitchen, a clean living room, new clean carpets, a large bathroom, and easy parking. We provide the food or a budget for you to choose what you want for yourself. The cottage is surrounded by classic English farmland, with many pretty footpaths, and traditional pubs within easy walking distance.
(It doesn`t have any more than basic furniture, or wifi (wifi can be accessed at many local places, and you can also come to our home for wifi which is a 30 minute drive)

In return for staying here we ask that you tend the garden. These gardening tasks includ... more inside

Hello, I am a busy working mum with two children aged 9 and 6 looking for someone to help around the house. General house keeping and cleaning along with a little babysitting for a 3 hours per day day, 6 days per week.

We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Torquay and can offer a bed in a shared dormitory in my husbands backpackers, which is a 2 minute walk from our house. There may be the possibility of staying at our house in the future but we currently have a lodger there.

An update 12 August: we are looking for one helper for September.

We are Michael (English) and Nolwenn (French)

We live in a 1902 Arts & Crafts house on Loch Lomond, about 25km west of Glasgow city centre.

We are looking for in our 'lost' 1902 garden, looking after our small holiday cottage, DIY projects (plumbing, wiring, joinery), and generally around the house. (For more detail please read the section below).

This is a long profile, because we have been doing this for a while and think it is better for us all to know what we are about. If you come, you will hopefully be here a while so it may be worth taking the time to read this.

We typically host one or two people at a time, all year round, and usually for at least 3-4 weeks, longer is possible if we all get along. This is so you can learn how we look after the cottage, and get involved in some of our bigger projects. However shorter stays are possible, if we already have a long-term helper.

As hosts, it is ha... more inside

**Looking for help from September Onwards!**

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery in a small village beside the coast in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings before we open at 11am.

Generally we ask for 25 hours per week, and some... more inside
