To help to renovate and maintain a big house in its own large gardens in a beautiful and peaceful location, but near to shops and facilities.
We are 30km from Manchester and direct trains and buses leave to the city from close by. Just above the house is the boundary to the Peak Park with magnificent walking trails, rock climbing, and panoramic views.

Please ignore the photos of our bungalows in Ireland, you will not be staying in them if you visit us in the Peak District. The top left photo is of the garden here.

Through April and into May 2019, Andy is reroofing and reslating an outbuilding behind the main house and some help with that would be very welcome. Labouring tasks, grading slates, tidying the site up, moving materials, clearing up leaves, lighting the woodburners in the house, collecting fuel.

We will be away in June but in July, August and September we will be in Ireland and also need helpers there.

There is the possibility of helping us and playing with ... more inside

Hi, my name is Andy and I have been a hosting people for many years on Helpx and through other organisations. I have been lucky as many of the people who have stayed here have become great friends and have left me with some great memories.

I am an open person who appreciates spending my time with people with a similar outlook on life, people who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and this journey continues :-)

I consider myself a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film, writing, and watching documentaries. I am interested in current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy and technology. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and of course to hav... more inside

We have an outdoor challenge events business which organises cycling, walking, kayaking and swimming events raising money for charity. We operate from a farmhouse on the shores of Loch Tay in Highland Perthshire where we also have airbnb accommodation. Our business is very seasonal so we need short term help over the busy months to help us run our home whilst we are working. We are looking for willing helpers to join our friendly family team. Due to the nature of our business no two days are the same around here. Staying with us best suits flexible and self motivated individuals or couples who love wild open spaces and could help in the house/garden. We have three children and three springer spaniels. Due to our remote location (no public transport and no shops within walking distance) staying with us will give you a true highland experience in a stunning part of Scotland and a taste of scottish rural life. We have hosted helpx friends for several years now and we look forw... more inside
