What are your plans for 2020? We now have volunteers until later in the summer but we shall still need some extra assistance for both the holiday cottages and in the garden to welcome our visitors from mid-July onwards

We are in the Highlands of Scotland near the Isle of Skye. We hope to hear from you.

Do you want to explore the Isle of Skye and the North West Highlands? Attadale would suit either two friends or a couple as space is limited. Ideally for a minimum of three weeks, preferably one month please. Last year we had at least three volunteers returning for a second time, which must be a recommendation! Check out their reviews below.

Beautiful estate with large garden open to the public and four holiday cottages situated in wild country near the Isle of Skye. Garden open from April to October. Holiday cottages available for visitors from March.

Hi, My name is Andy and I've been a host for years now both with Helpx and other organisations. I appreciate spending my time with people like me who want to learn more about this strange and wonderful planet we all occupy. I get on with people who care about others and want to learn more about themselves. I have learnt a lot from my time hosting people and my journey continues.

I am a well-educated person and believe that life is a continual learning experience, I like listening to the music of most genres, watching a good film and watching documentaries. I am interested in matters of environmental sustainability, climate change, current affairs, psychology, history, politics, philosophy and technology. I have a good sense of humour, I like to share a joke and tell a story. I like to laugh and of course to have as much fun as life allows me.

I live here with my partner Joe, he is a good person and is also an experienced traveller. We are not really traditional people and we a... more inside

Join us for a Homestay in rural Lincolnshire. We will be hosting again from the end of March.

Hello, we are Jane and Dave. We live in a small village in rural Lincolnshire in the East of England where we keep bees, chickens and pigs, and a lovely cat and grow fruit and vegetables in our large garden.

We'll be hosting volunteers again from the end of March. Please do read to the end of our profile and have a look at some of our testimonials to see if this is the place for you.

Weíve travelled a lot ourselves, so itís great to welcome people from around the world into our own home. We get the benefit of all the help with the animals, the garden and our various projects and enjoy the company of so many interesting people. We particularly want to hear from people with specific skills such as a real knowledge of gardening, carpentry or construction work or just a general familiarity with working with tools. However being independent, having lots of common sense and initiati... more inside

Hello! We live in a beautiful 400 year old ex-farmhouse in the heart of the idyllic Somerset countryside. We are looking for A COUPLE to help with a variety of jobs. We can only accommodate people short term, so please do not apply if you are looking for a long-term placement.
We need help with walking the dogs, our gorgeous garden needs help with both simple and heavy jobs and there are painting / decorating and general maintenance jobs available. We would expect to discuss and agree with the helper prior to their starting what their likes and dislikes are so they can do the jobs that appeal more to them.
We keep Chickens and Runner Ducks, and also have two dogs and a cat, so help with the animals might also be needed!
There are walks to be had from the house and plenty of gorgeous villages to visit, many with cosy country pubs!
We live on the edge of a small village with a pub, but only 5 mins drive from the nearest town which has shops. We are about 25 mins from Glasto... more inside

The house is a 16th century manor house and out-buildings which we have been repairing for the last 35 years, using traditional and mainly recycled materials. We have wood, metal, pottery/ casting workshops, marbling/art studio,42inch HP printer,50 foot music/sewing loft, megga swings and zip wire, even a sound and vision space rocket to escape in.!!!. Help needed for the following; setting up veg garden, building restoration, stone and lime work, tree work, woodwork, metal work, help with general household duties and cooking would also be appreciated. Accommodation is in the house, which is historically original, but with all the modern conveniences. (various tents are available for those who want to be closer to nature.)Internet available.
One of the main goals here is to promote the use of lime in the repair of old buildings and the rather daunting task of getting new buildings to change over to natures best environmental building material! We are also re-use/upcycle master... more inside

This is a homestay in the South of England; the house has 4 bedrooms and is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. I do receive a lot of requests from Helpxers and also from another similar volunteering website so I can not say yes to everyone but please do send me your travel dates and I will see if I have space.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals, in return for just a few hours of work on five days a week; some free time each d... more inside
