APRIL 2020 UPDATE

Unfortunately we cannot host at present while this coronovirus threatens.
We look forward to resuming normal life later this year.

When we will be needing help again for woodland, gardening, cleaning, cooking and decorating jobs.

There are opportunities to help with voluntary projects in the area including
the community storehouse - a fantastic way to meet local people.

Our big old house with large garden is tucked behind the main street with frequent buses to Edinburgh.

We look for enthusiasm. Experience of gardening, building, housework and decorating is a bonus but not vital. If you are interested in local culture and history and are happy to work unsupervised, you'll be needed!

We are about an hour from Edinburgh by frequent bus. 5 minutes from country walks and a national cycle path. Accommodation for 1 or for 2 sharing a room for 2 - 4 weeks. We provide vegetarian meals.

Jane has a pottery and often needs a... more inside

We live on a 27 acre smallholding in south west Wales. We have been here since January 2019. The farm was neglected for almost 40 years so we have a huge amount of infrastructure work to do. Although we weren't really ready for animals - no livestock fencing!! - in our enthusiasm, we went ahead and got some.... 10 goats, 15 chickens, 2 cockerels, 2 pigs and we already had 2 ponies. Our intentions are to become as self sustaining as possible, producing our own milk, cheese, eggs, meat, vegetables, wool, fibre. The work we are currently focusing on is fencing, gates, re-establishing the polytunnel, tree cutting (and, later, re-planting) for timber, firewood and woodchip (for animal bedding). We also need to put a new roof on the barn, build field shelters for the horses and goats, build new barns to accommodate animals in winter and store hay/feeds and restore a derelict cottage.... the list goes on and on! We also want to create some man made beauty around the place.

We have a cou... more inside

Sorry , I came back after volunteering on a farm in Canada and i self isolated. Things are less tough here than in Europe. Everything is closed down because of the virus. Even shopping is difficult. Infact everyone is talking about social distancing. If you have no temperature, no coughs, no sneezes and don't mind wearing the essential mask then we can discuss this project.
This is an invitation to a permaculture learning project involving learning about horticulture and self build construction and building maintenance in Zone 2/3 of London, UK.

Unfortunately due to Covid 19 the 2020 season has been cancelled. Please read on and think about joining us for 2021

We invite you to volunteer and participate in creating a unique, beautiful, and fascinating experience...

We are a registered educational charity, and we organise, build and run a unique, tented, sustainable venue - a temporary eco-village, situated on a plant nursery on the banks of the River Teme, in lush countryside overlooked by the Malvern Hills in the West of England.

Every summer since 1990, our trustees (all volunteers) and many other volunteers from all walks of life come together and create something truly inspiring - and we would like you to be part of that!

We encourage people who like working hard and having fun to get involved - activities include;
Erecting tents, marquees, yurts, domes and other structures;
Site infrastructure e.g. plumbing & electricity - solar energy array;
Maintaining our organically grown kitchen garden; washing ... more inside

Skilled and semiskilled help needed in a variety of task in the house garden and on house repairs and maintenance.
Seasonal work helping in our BnB business, as well as with the garden. A small payment will be made for this work

Some work will be at my daughters just outside the village. This year we have an extra project as we have just bought an adjacent property and are converting into BnB accomodation so wood work skills would be extra handy.

We have been having volunteers mainly Woofers for the past 20 years but now use HelpX as we do less organic growing than before.
The volunteers live in a wood stove heated chalet in the garden which gives them privacy and independence, all food will be provided , some will be cooked and eaten with the family, but some of the time volunteers will be expected to cook for themselves.
Ullapool is an interesting place to be, plenty of music and social activity.

This is a homestay in the South of England; the house has 4 bedrooms and is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. I do receive a lot of requests from Helpxers and also from another similar volunteering website so I can not say yes to everyone but please do send me your travel dates and I will see if I have space. UPDATE: Please note that because of the world-wide health scare over the spread of a coronavirus I will not be taking any Helpers until later this year but of course you can message me about that, or about coming in 2021.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare mea... more inside

Hello!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS for 2020. Couples welcome too.

We are a super friendly, well run hostel in the gorgeous location of Fort William, known as the adventure capital of the UK.

We`ve been preparing and renovating our hostel with new showers, new carpets and fresh decoration and we are looking forward to a new season.

You will be doing Cleaning and Laundry, perhaps some Reception and any other general hostel work that ensures the hostel is sparkling and the guests are made to feel welcome.

We would love to hear from any good workers out there who are happy to muck in and do whatever is needed to make this hostel a wonderful place to be.

We ask for up to 2-3 hours per person per day. In return for your help you are provided with: Bed and breakfast (not cooked), laundry facilities and free wifi. You will get at least one day off a week. You will also have access to our self-catering kitchen. WE WOULD LIKE A COMMITMENT OF AROUND 3 OR 4 WEEKS OR MORE so... more inside

Our home an old, 19c red brick farmhouse near miles of coastal nature reserves. The area is popular with tourists who come to see the seals at Donna Nook in November & December. Great area for photography, walking, etc - beautiful coastline and countryside - VERY rural, farmland surrounds us.

Cloddygate Farm is NOT a working farm. We have a large organic garden with flower borders, veggie patch, herb garden, fruit trees and greenhouse. We share our home with a Cheerful Bichon dog and a grumpy old cat.

We usually like short term helpers(2 - 4 weeks) but sometimes longer, working in the gardens, weeding, planting etc., sometimes helping around the house, cutting wood, cooking, preserving but it's difficult to know as we do projects as money allows but we'll try to make your stay as varied as possible.

We would also like help internal decorating/painting this year.

Expect to work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. In addition keeping your own room and your bathroom clean and t... more inside
