Help required from the beginning of April to the end of May with lambing 90 ewes inside a shed.
Helpers in past years have said they had a wonderful experience. Help will include feeding the sheep, mucking out pens and I also teach helpers how to recognise when a ewe is lambing, how to handle them and assist with the birth.

There will be pet lambs that need fed, the ewes and lambs in the fields need daily inspection.

We may also need some help with a variety of tasks on the farm plus feeding and caring for a few hens.

The farm is also a livery yard. But no help should be needed with the horses. I (Faye) have my own horses so there could be an opportunity to ride horses.

We are offering accommodation and meals in exchange for your help. We hope we also offer an enjoyable learning experience. The offer would suit someone who can be flexible, enjoy Scottish banter and fun. I enjoy improving the English of helpers, if wanted, and speaking about Scottish culture and food.

Come and stay on an idyllic Scottish Island.

My name is Susie, I am the eldest of a large family. my parents Beth and Chris own the Farm house, on the beautiful Isle of Arran. The property is a big farm house with a couple of holiday letting cottages on the property. It is located around the south end of the Isle of Arran.

We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help me work on the land, clearing ground and maintaining gardens and potentially assisting with the renovation of another cottage.
Other jobs would include:
Gardening work-weeding and planting
Clearing land of brambles and bracken
Tidying up the area around some rundown old farm buildings
Working on the cottage, painting, decorating and general labour.
I would suggest working 4 days a week, giving you more time if you wanted to see more of beautiful Scotland. But we can be fairly flexible in the hours that suit you. Minimum of 2 weeks stay but flexible with the right people.

Accommodation will vary depending what... more inside

I have a small petting farm and farm shop in the Highlands of Scotland - John O'Groats a bucket list destination for many. I bought the farm in Sept 2016 as a running business, there is lots to do to try to get it where i would like to be long term. Running the farm by myself with only so many hours in a day means any help is really appreciated!

The work is varied, i am opening a B&B in the next few months so looking for help in getting rooms turned around and cleaned when that opens as well as the normal morning animal feeding and mucking out, walking the dog, chopping carrots (for visitors to feed the animals), repairing fences and fence maintenance, painting, weeding, grass cutting etc.

A two berth caravan is on site for volunteers, it is dry, warm and cosy with a kitchen and bathroom. You also have access to the house for showers (as the caravan bathroom is tiny). There is a farm shop at the farm where you have access to eggs, fruit and veg. All other food (dairy, bread,... more inside

Hi. Thanks for looking at our profile.

We are currently looking for help working round the garden and with log stacking.

This is what we are about in a nutshell:

We are about nourishing mind, body & soil. Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast and group space with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. It is a place where guests can just "be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who comes to support what we offer. Expectations have a greater chance of being met for both parties which can lead to a more all-round, fulfilling experience.

We are looking for people who can:

We shall need help in our house and garden from March and Apri 2019.

We have a pottery here where we run classes.

We'd also like you to help at the new community storehouse. A fantastic way to meet local people.

Our big old house is tucked behind the main street with frequent buses to Edinburgh.

We look for enthusiasm. Experience of gardening, building, housework and decorating is a bonus but not vital. If you are interested in local culture and history and are happy to work unsupervised, you'll be needed!

We are about 45 minutes from Edinburgh by frequent bus. Accommodation for 1 or for 2 sharing a room for 2 - 4 weeks. We provide vegetarian meals.

We are involved in our local community, a group restoring the vast Lost Garden of Penicuik (a nearby Victorian walled garden) growing food. Helpers have dug, planted, harvested, cooked and sold produce for 6 years now. We have built several hugel beds there (hugelkultur) and if anyone would like to work on these, that... more inside
