Cwrt y Cylchau is a stone farm house and outbuildings situated with five acres of sheltered and peaceful land in a valley in the hills. Surrounded by mature trees and bordering a mountain stream, we have a forest garden, vegetable beds, polytunnel, ponds, coppices, meadows and woodland. Sheep graze part of the land whilst some meadow is left to encourage wildflowers. Wildlife is a priority and permaculture informs the management of land and lifestyle here. The owner is home-based and usually available to work alongside volunteers.
Guests and volunteers are accommodated in the farmhouse, or in a cabin or may camp in summer months. People sometimes come here for retreat, enjoy the tranquility, breathe exceptionally clear air and find silence interrupted only by birdsong and the sounds of wind and river.
Volunteers are asked to help with the daily and seasonal activities. These might be gardening jobs connected with growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables, cooking, housework, he... more inside

Generally we are looking for help with weeding, planting, and packing vegetables and eggs. we need someone who is able to do physical work.

We are looking for someone who has a positive attitude and plenty of energy.

On the farm we have vegetables, apple trees and salad crops, Work will be in the field or the polytunnels, sewing seeds as well as sorting eggs. We have chickens, sheep and cats
We use no-dig, forest gardening and permaculture techniques. We are firmly rooted in the organic principles and wish to contribute towards food security for the local community.

Our place consists of 17 acres of south facing pasture and woodland.
The location is rural, but only two miles from the small town of Newcastle Emlyn, and 8 miles from the sea.
There are castles and beaches to visit, as well as footpaths to go walking by woods and rivers.

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, sheep and dogs! (See photos below of a 2011 help-xer with one of our lambs and 2013 help-xers cleaning out the pond!)

We would like help with woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! There may occasionally be some work with our sheep and sometimes looking after our adorable dogs! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal.

We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will s... more inside

The house is a 16th century manor house and out-buildings which we have been repairing for the last 35 years, using traditional and mainly recycled materials. We have wood, metal, pottery/ casting workshops, marbling/art studio,42inch HP printer,50 foot music/sewing loft, megga swings and zip wire, even a sound and vision space rocket to escape in.!!!. Help needed for the following; setting up veg garden, building restoration, stone and lime work, tree work, woodwork, metal work, help with general household duties and cooking would also be appreciated. Accommodation is in the house, which is historically original, but with all the modern conveniences. (various tents are available for those who want to be closer to nature.)Internet available.
One of the main goals here is to promote the use of lime in the repair of old buildings and the rather daunting task of getting new buildings to change over to natures best environmental building material! We are also re-use/upcycle master... more inside

Wanted help cleaning and setting up 6 bell tents at the top of a mountain in West Wales in very remote and beautiful area. Usually just 2 days work a week in exchange you can use the facilities when they are not in use which includes a wood fired hot tub and provided with a main meal daily and eggs to make your own breakfast. Glorious walking all around the camp. The Brecon Beacons are an hour away and the Ceredigion heritage coast approx. 45 mins.
Some wood chopping, fire lighting, grass cutting as well as hoovering and bed making in the tents, cleaning 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. Accomodation will be in a static caravan with gas heating, sitting room, bathroom with gas shower, bedroom and kitchen or in a luxury bell tent with wood stove and all wood provided.
We are 3 miles from the nearest village and 12 miles from a town, buses are infrequent so transport would be useful.

We live on a 27 acre smallholding in south west Wales. We have been here since January 2019. The farm was neglected for almost 40 years so we have a huge amount of infrastructure work to do. Although we weren't really ready for animals - no livestock fencing!! - in our enthusiasm, we went ahead and got some.... 10 goats, 15 chickens, 2 cockerels, 2 pigs and we already had 2 ponies. Our intentions are to become as self sustaining as possible, producing our own milk, cheese, eggs, meat, vegetables, wool, fibre. The work we are currently focusing on is fencing, gates, re-establishing the polytunnel, tree cutting (and, later, re-planting) for timber, firewood and woodchip (for animal bedding). We also need to put a new roof on the barn, build field shelters for the horses and goats, build new barns to accommodate animals in winter and store hay/feeds and restore a derelict cottage.... the list goes on and on! We also want to create some man made beauty around the place.

We have a cou... more inside
