We are a family of four based in a small village in the middle of Northern Ireland. We have two daughters and we also share our home with two dogs and a cat. My husband works in the music industry and I work as a counsellor and am currently a PhD student. We are home educating and we are using a child-centred approach which means we guide, support and encourage our children to follow their passions, to have fun and to learn in their own unique way. We enjoy creativity, music, art, nature and food.

We would love to invite helpers to support us as a family and so our children can meet people from as many different backgrounds as possible. The main reason for inviting helpers into our home is we would love some help with the running of our home and the educating of our children. Please feel free to contact us with any queries.

2 houses joined together, one is our home, the other is for airbnb guests on short term stays. All are surrounded by a largish varied garden with organic vegetable planters as well as wildlife meadow, fruit trees, camomile lawn, wildlife pond and mini woodland etc.
I am retired but play guitar and still do some photography. Eibhlin does aromatherapy. The house is a mile from Killyleagh, a small historic town dominated by Ireland's largest privately owned castle. Good public transport to and from Belfast (18 miles) from Crossgar, 5 miles away (can drive you there). We need help to do some specific projects in the garden Autumn 2018 if the right kind of person came along - you would need to be strong and sensitive to plants. Male helpers may find the work easier and are preferred just at the moment.
The projects are clearing overgrown areas, digging areas needing redevelopment, and repairing/rebuilding raised beds. We also sometimes need general help painting and weeding.

We urgently need house sitters for the middle of October to look after the animals and water some. It would suit a couple, perhaps.

Things are slowly coming together here at the Permaferry. We are creating a Fukuoka style natural farm and food forest, which actually means less work to do. However in spring there is a lot of preparation to do, building soil and getting ready for the growing season. We will scatter seed balls soon, mulching beds with seaweed, planting more trees and shrubs, building a beehive. The yurt will be put up again in March. We are planning to host a few courses both at our place and at other sites, so need preparation for those.
We also need a couple of periods during the spring and the autumn for a house sitter while we looks after our food forest in Italy.

We are located on the beautiful Ards peninsula south of Belfast, a mile from the Irish Sea and 3 miles from Lough Strangford. We are setting up a centre for permaculture with courses and e... more inside

Thanks for looking at my information!

I have a small house in a quiet area of BELFAST(UK), near Queens University and Botanic Gardens. Its 20 mins walk to the City centre and a few minutes walk to shops/pubs.

You will receive accommodation and food.
I am a vegetarian but my helper does not need to be.

I am looking for help with some gardening work, decorating inside the house and caring for my lively dog! :).So, you have to like dogs!

It`s a great base to explore the life of the city and the beauty of our lovely countryside (Giants` Causeway and Mourne for example). Also.... you will get a chance to sail on the lovely Strangford Lough (May-Oct), go for hill walks and enjoy the LOTS of free live music in Belfast! The museums, galleries and parks are free and there are always free cultural events happening in Belfast!

The Reviews relate to a hostel I used to have!!

Hope to hear from you... Feel free to contact me to discuss anything.

Thanks, Arnie
