Beautiful and viable farm of 150acres grass and woodland. Solar PV is used for most energy needs.
The main priority is care and well being of our free range chickens. Tasks are not arduous and consist of bedding rest areas, checking fresh food and water and allowing access outdoors during daylight hours. Paddocks are fenced to keep out predators and foxes. Occasional maintenance of hedgerows and fencing will also be needed.
Couples and people traveling together are welcome.

I have set up a small oyster farm in Northern Ireland, UK in 2015.
When I took over the farm it was abandoned and I started all from scratch. At the moment I am the only one working the oysters, I have been busy developing the production up to 10 tones for the year 2019 and hopefully 40 tones by 2021 which is a small - medium size business.

Oysters are cultivated on the intertidal area of the shores of lough Larne, I love working outside with nature. Work can be hard and physical and I am just looking for help and sharing experiences at the site.

Work hours are variable and there is not one day the same. Oyster farming is organic, there is not added fertiliser or feed because these animals are filter feeder, meaning they eat micro algae, a natural food source coming with the tides.

I specially like being out there within the nature and wildlife, it is common to see seals and many birds around the farming structure and the surrounding. Access is 10 minutes by boat or fro... more inside

We live in County Clare in the West of Ireland, one mile from the village of Kilfenora. We are situated on the edge of the unique Burren area, known for its limestone landscape, flora and fauna, culture and music. We have a small herd of cows and calves, and some forestry. The farm itself does not involve much work, but since we both have off farm occupations, we don't have enough time for basic tidying and maintenance so we are looking for help in the area of de cluttering a couple of sheds, cutting grass, generally tidying up the place. Some house painting inside/outside would also be appreciated. Handyman/woman skills would be a great bonus. We can offer accommodation in a comfortable 2 bedroom mobile home, 2 double beds, shower, WC, fridge, good cooking facilities etc . Food/groceries supplied.
