*** Right now february 2020 we are renovating wooden floors : we need help to scrap old paint and make 100 yo wood breathe again ***

We try to save a huge 100y old wooden building which used to be a school. Our project is to turn it into a guest house with the possibility to organise events such as concert or weddings.
400m away from "Solhov" (the historic building), Ingunn has a family house that is an organic farm. We need help there also especially in summer time.

Ingunn is a doctor 3 days a week and Mathieu was a technical teacher but prefers now to fix everything here. We both enjoy nature and we use to go kayaking for a grilling eve in the island or go skiing during our free time. Mathieu is a hang-and-paraglider pilot and Ingunn is impassioned about dance. Randy (Ingunn's mother) is leaving close by and has a lot of energy. Her dog Luna and our cat Maya are really good friends, but not really helpfull for our projects, even if they tryed.

We would like (and use to) ... more inside

Hi :-)

Our farm is located 20 minutes from the city of Bergen, the fjord capital. It is a small family farm where Marit (53) and John (57) live with three fantastic daughters and the animals: two calves, some sheeps and a cat.

Everyone do have jobs or studies beside the farming, but during the spring and summer months it is all about farming. We are looking for good helpers who can stay for around 2 weeks. We would like to have helpers that can be a part of our farm, speak some English and help us around with work like painting, harvesting, gardening, cleaning and of course the farming.

There is always something to do here. In addition to the farmwork, we are located in the quiet contryside, close to the woods, and one can always walk to the ocean for some hours of fishing.

You will get to stay in the farm house - with your own bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and living room. The house is fully equipped, and food will be provided. It is about a 10 minute walk the closes st... more inside

We are an adventure travel company with a base in northern Norway, 100 km north of the Arctic Circle. We organize travels, expeditions, and all kinds of courses for both travelers as companies. Our main goal is to create sustainable and responsible tourism for nature and outdoor-minded people, educate them, and providing fun and great adventures.

Helpers can learn a lot about working in sustainable tourism. You can help with different projects like: guiding and assisting with outdoor activities, maintenance of equipment, working with guests, photo and video projects (shooting and editing), drone flying, or related disciplines like IT (web design), marketing, google/Facebook/Instagram advertisements, and social media. You can also be part of environmental projects (for example clean-ups) or helping the locals. Let us know what kind of projects you are interested in.

Volunteers can eventually grow (on a longer-term) to paid positions and become one of our team.

Due to the Coronavirus, we currently only accept volunteers who are already in Norway, - and you should preferably stay here for awhile. If you come from EU/EØS country, - is it in a special case possible arrange you an invitation, but only if you want be here for longer period.

The farm is 190 ha (fields, forest, hill/mountain, water), about 40 km north of the city Trondheim. After few years break, there are again milk production on the farm. This is a production who off course going on all year around. Nice when you like animals, want spend time and learn more from maybe when calf get born, needful care and maybe milk the cows. Today a dairy company coming with truck and pick up the milk, but would be really exciting if possible create a organic dairy product in future, who is not in any market yet :) This project is most suited for a female volunteer - light farm work and housework, with opportunities to contribute to the expansion of this project.

Our borders opening for travelers:
Government info given June25:
"On July 10, the government will provide information on which countries and areas in the EU/EEA have a satisfactory infection situation. If you live in one of these countries/areas, you may travel to Norway without going into quarantine after July 15." (udi.no/en/about-the-corona-situation)
Our borders to Scandinavia, except Sweden, are already open.

Welcome to this beautiful shore
of a rural island
on Norway`s West Coast!

One hour's bus ride from Bergen city.

This place is not mainly about work. It is more about enjoying the nature; moments of fellowship; learning and teaching - of cultures, skills, opinions; growing by trial and error - eased by being detached from your normal daily life for a while, and by our mutual support.

Our work should mainly be supportive of these more important goals! 20 hours of work a week is fine, although work should preferrably not always be clearly distinguish... more inside

ENVIRONMENTAL AND ORGANIC PROJECT ON A MOUNTAIN AND A COASTAL FARM

**********

Update 23rd Jun, 2020:

Due to an infection from the neighbour's sheep, we have had to send all our animals to slaughter. We are currently working up more fields for harvesting, expanding our berry fields and doing fencing, in preparation for a new herd.

*********

- Open to couples and individuals.

We purchased an old mountain valley farm (Skogmo gård) and moved here in December 2016. We also have another farm without buildings, located on the coast.

We aim to try various organic, environmental-friendly and innovative ways of operating a farm, and in time produce everything we need. The long-term goal is to be off the grid. Any idea might trigger activity. :-)

Our future activity list includes vegetables, fruits, berries, salads, oats/barley if we can get it to grow up here in the north, small animals, goats, birds, forestry, and a small farm store to get our produce out to the loca... more inside

Do you want to come and help?

My farm is situated in beautiful surroundings 20 min drive from Oslo airport, close to the river Vorma.

We are doing farm tourism in a small scale and have exhibitions, shop and a café open on Sundays in summertime. We have sheep on the farm.
I need help in house and shop to clean, paint, gardening, cutting wood, repairing and making outdoor furniture, fence, building garden house etc.

This year we will continue renovating the old barn. People who are interested in cultural heritage are very welcome.

If you want to help 30 hours a week, I will give you free accommodation, food and bikes to get around.

I need people to be independent and trustworthy because I have a lot to do outside the farm. You will need to work alone and experience the neighbourhood on your own. If you love to see more than the countryside, Oslo is just 1 hour away by bus, or maybe you want to hire a car for the period. If you love to fish you will find Huser... more inside

Where East meets West, half way between Oslo and Bergen, is our historic farm situated 750 meters above sea level in the beautiful mountain village Leveld, surrounded by forest and mountains.

This summer we have a building project in our beautiful mountain chalet.

This historic farm has been in the family for generations, and many of the houses date back to 1865. Now it is our turn to take over and give new spirit to the place, and we hope you will join us in the process. The main income of the farm is to run the 9 tourist cabins. At the moment we have decided to give them a new and updated look, and this is the main focus. Spring or atumn is usually the best time to come.
About us: We are a family with 3 children (11, 15 and 18). Tone grew up on the farm and Pascal grew up in New Zealand/Australia.

Work: Painting and restoring the cabins are our priorities at the moment. If you have an interest in interior design/ photoes or web developement that could also come handy. ... more inside
