It`s been quite some time now that we are participating in this program.
We never get tired of new people staying and having strangers turning into friends.

Also our neighbors and others in the village are enjoying the exchange. They are always up for a smaltalk, which is great for you to practice your german!

About us:
We run a dairy farm. We also grow all sort of crops. Either to feed our animals or to sell them. We also grow apples, plums, pears, potatoes and many other things that grow in a garden.
There is never a time during summer where u can not just go outside and eat something straight from where it grows..

Ruesselhausen is a small village. Just perfect to be in the nature. There are bikes for you to use so you can discover the surrounding nature.
It would be good if you speak a little German because not all of us speak english. However, experience has shown that even if u don`t speak german it won`t be a big problem to get along and have a good time.

Hi helpers,

we are a lively family of five, but our children are grown up (26, 29, 32) now. And we have 3 grandchildren, 2 and 5 years, visiting us often, and just born in London.
We enjoy having people from other countries staying with us.
Our oldest daughter went to New Zealand and joined helpX as a helper. Some years ago in January, our second daughter went to Australia for 3 month and she had also a lot of very good experience as helpx.
So we thought it is a good idea to offer our lovely home for helpers.

We are living in a forest with a big lake infront of our doorstep.
We have got chucks, cats and of cause fish!
Our home is close to the river "Elbe" and the area "Altes-Land", a region which is famos for growing fruit trees such as apples, pears, cherries, plums,...
The closest city is Stade, where you can find a lovely historic city center.
Also the way to Cuxhaven, Hamburg and Bremen is only 1h to 1:30h.
The next train ... more inside

We are a happy, fun loving, open minded and extensively travelled family who have taken over a new challenge in our home country about 8 years ago. We have lived in New Zealand for 11 years and have been owning and operating a Cafe and Restaurant in Lawrence.

We had volunteers all the time in New Zealand and we enjoyed the international exchange. Having English speaking people around helps us and the kids to keep it in our minds.

We are looking for help for our Inn. Work would include anything and everything that needs to be done. This could include working in the gardens, house hold tasks, painting, maintaining, taking our dog for walks or helping out with cooking lunch for the family.

*** We take helpers from April 2019 again ***

SELF DESCRIPTION:

We are a family of 5, parents with three children. We work as freelancers in the social and consulting sector. Our home is in a small, nice and quiet village only 23km away from Hanover, the state capital of Lower Saxony with 500.000 inhabitants. Our place is very rural and surrounded by fields, forests and some lakes. There are various opportunities for walking, cycling, running or swimming. It takes 15 min by bike or 5 min by bus to the small city of Großburgwedel where you find various shops and everything for your daily needs.

We love making music, reading books and doing various kinds of sports. During garden season we enjoy gardening. Often we eat vegetarian food, but we are not restrictive. We do also bake our own bread, prepare home made yoghurt and in main season the fruits of our garden. We are interested in other cultures, environmental, social and political topics. We`ve got a very friendly cat.

Hi guys,
I am an active and enthusiastic woman with a big heart for animals and great interest in organic gardening. Our little farm has dogs, two horses, a cat, chicken, ducks and bees living together with me on my little farm in the Palatinian mountain area between Trier, Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern.

My daughter is studying and supports me on the weekends from time to time, that is why I am looking for somebody to help me with the daily chores, especially with the animals.

Generally I would need a help around 4-5 h/Day, 5 days a week.

It would be great if you would help me to make my garden bigger, in order to plant more vegetables and herbs. Together we could prepare tasty (vegetarian?) meals from a great variety of food growing in my garden, so I am looking forward to try your favorite recipes too.
Sometimes there is some woodwork and stacking wood, to prepare for a winter season.

Volunteers are living in their private room with an ensuite bathroom. There... more inside

Summer discription:

besides our work on the farm we organise international workcamps, long-term stays, and voluntary work in different companies as printery, carpentry, farming, nursery

If you like to learn milking cows or driving an old tractor, cutting hedges, shear sheep, build fences or throw honey, test your strength in the muck or while digging the garden - you should join us.
If you find dung and greens not so interesting, we understand :-)
We are a living and working community with different workshops and bio-dynamic farming in Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg.
We are doing carpentry, printing, video production, publishing and distribution - it is always possible to help. Depending what you want to learn, you can help.
We have four more than less old houses here in the village, so we also have to do a lot of construction work. The farming we do is not a business for us to earn money. We do it because we think farming is an important part in a holistic way of life. We h... more inside
