Our house, which used to be an old barn, burned down in 2015. We are now rebuilding it completely by hand and converting the ruins into four zero-energy houses. We are therefore looking for volunteers with experience or an interest in construction between April and November.

You will stay in the house next door, which is fully furnished and comfortable, and we will provide food, though you will do your own cooking. You will be required to do four to five hours of work per (week-)day.

Our place is uniquely situated on a canal that runs between the lively cities of Delft and Rotterdam. The tiny, friendly village of around 100 inhabitants is surrounded by meadows and the area is ideal for cycling. There are no shops, but there is an hourly bus to Rotterdam and Delft (ca. 15 minutes) and you can borrow our bicycles and canoe/boat.

PLEASE NOTE that we will only respond to volunteers who have actually read this text. Only too often do we receive messages from people who are clear... more inside

Help needed march 22 - march 30

Are you traveling the Netherlands?

Hi, I am Anna, 57, and I live between Rotterdam and Dordrecht, two very different and interesting city's. Rotterdam is a big town that was bombed in WOII and rebuild, with beautiful architecture. It has the largest port of Europe. Dordrecht is a smaller town with an old city center, a lot of nice small shops and beautiful waterways.

The distance to both Rotterdam or Dordrecht is 12 km. The train station is 2 km away. Nearby my house there is a large rural area. I have a bicycle available for you. De Hollandse Biesbosch near Dordrecht is a beautiful nature area where you can make lovely walks.

There is a bedroom with carpeting and I want that replaced with laminate. Because there is a lot of furniture I cannot do it on my own, donít have the strenght. I am thinking about 4 hours of work a day. This leaves you enough time to explore the area and see more of the beautiful Netherlands.

You will have you... more inside

!! TEAM COMPLETE - no volunteers needed at the moment !!

My hostel is a great place to experience local life, culture and history. All my rooms are themed and provide background information on typical Dutch places, things and people. I have a team of 10 locals which are all enthusiastic about where they are from. We are like a family and welcome you to join us.
Throughout the year I am looking for 2 people to help out. There are several things I need your help with. During your stay you will do all the jobs.

1) Being the nightwatch. You sleep next to the night entrance, if people lose their card to enter, or the fire alarm goes off, or guests make too much noise you are the person to come into action. Generally you sleep like a baby, but in case something happens you jump on your feet and go for it!

2) Help in the kitchen
In the morning you are helping me out in the kitchen during breakfast. You will prepare lovely local goods and you don't even need to be a kitchen-pri... more inside

Hi there! Would you like to learn more about the cultivation of tulips and lilies? And would you like to know what it is like to live in a polder?

We are a family of four (41, 39, 5 and 3 years old). We enjoy making new friends.

We live in a small rural town, one hour north of Amsterdam. We produce tulip and lily bulbs. Springtime is a very beautiful and busy time of the year here.

We ask you to help us 5 hours per day. The type of help depends on your interests and skills. It could be farm work, gardening, cooking, cleaning, painting, or baby sitting. In return you can sleep and eat with us and we will show you around in the area. You will sleep in a guestroom, which is separate from our own house, with your own toilet and bathroom.

Would you like to meet us and stay with us one or two weeks? Please send us a message!

Best Regards,
Geert, Marja, Arie en Thijs

The little Paradise needs help only from the 18th February for 1 boy/man and in March again for new applications. There is a variety of jobs like:gardening: sawing, pruning, painting, removing weeds ,as well as fixing broken materials, cleaning different accommodations, rearranging sheds, serving breakfasts for guests, cooking etc. Stays are most of the time at least two weeks and if it works well for both sides a few weeks more. From helpers we like to receive a profile with a photo of yourself.Note: Because of the art of work, you must be physically and mentally healthy without homesickness and not afraid of getting dirty hands and physical labor. The work is variable, 5 days a week , mostly between 8.30 am-3.00 pm. We provide housing and food for the whole week. The warm meals, once a day will be taken with us, the other 2 meals we supply bread and sandwich filling. If you are used to eat twice a day a hot meal you have to buy one yourself. We cannot supply and prepare food for... more inside

(Dear all, I gotta full house at the moment till May! And people have trying to reach me through the instagram chat, but please send me an email)

Dear traveler/wanderer/adventure-seeker/do-gooder,

I'm Nina, artist and student, 28 years old and living an apartment in the outskirts of Amsterdam.
I create all sorts of things, but mostly in the realm of community, textiles, environment and writing...
And I can always use some extra hands, brains, and eyes! :)
Exchange jobs vary from washing and dyeing fabrics with plants, to helping me build a website, setting up potential exhibitions, helping with performances, or maybe even making work together. (At the moment I want to make a wormfarm at my balcony, so if you know how to do that, you're welcome!)
It would be absolutely great if you have artistic skills and ideas of your own; graphic sense, carpentry, IT knowledge, if you write or make music... or maybe you are a great cook, hihi.
For me it is really important that ther... more inside

Hi all,

We have two boats that we run as B&B/hostel on the Oosterdok, being the city centre harbour of Amsterdam.
A fun loving multilingual team of 4 people is in need of your help to run the boats and have a lot of fun (as well as discovering this way of living on a boat that so many Dutch choose!).

The work consist on a bit of everything, depending of the days and the needs (mainly cleaning tho). But most important is to enjoy talking to people and discover our nice customers by exchanging with them. They are almost all international guests so English is the main language on board which help everyone to speak to everyone.

Work is 4 hours a day for 6 days a week.
We offer different hours of work depending of the days which provide you plenty of time to explore the city at your convenience and enjoy all Amsterdam has to offer to you. We also have bikes that will allow you t... more inside

I am a PhD student living on the beautiful Wadden island of Texel. If you want to experience the nature of the Netherlands, you are welcome!

I live in a small apartment and you can sleep in the living room. In exchange, I hope you can help with some household chores and cook together.
You can stay for a maximum of 3 nights.
