This is a new to build sustainable neighbourhood. We are a citizen initiative. We are building our Eco-houses ourselves with help from experts and volunteers.

We have been living on our land since April 1st 2016. At the moment we are in a temporary phase. We do not yet live in the houses made of hempcrete, but take residence in temporary houses next to the place where we will make our dream happen. We are working on making the temporary houses a good place to live.

At the moment we are in need of people who wish to help out for a longer period of time. We are specially looking for volunteers who have building/renovation experience, amateur level is sufficient. This means working with wood, building indoor walls, putting pipes in place, connecting electrical systems, painting, etc. Most important is that you enjoy learning new things and are able to work independently.

Our living circumstances are still a bit primitive. You will s... more inside

Hello, I'm Wil.

I live alone in a nice little house in a rural area near Dordrecht next to the National Park "De Biesbosch".
The house stands on about 800 m˛ of land between the fields of the surrounding farmers.

I am working on the renovation of the house such as isolating the house, installing walls, installing ceilings, installing water and electricity, making a bathroom, renovating a kitchen, etc.
In addition, criate a vegetable garden. And maintained the garden and fruit trees. And planting and harvesting. And all further garden work.
The greenhouse must also be renovated and then put into operation.
There is also a fence to be placed and a barn rebuilt.

There are also sometimes some trees to be cut down and the wood or other wood to be processed into firewood. This wood is to heat the house.

In addition to this, I also have a carpentry company and it can be very busy with periods.
So I can use some help with carpentry, construction work, plaster, piping, paint... more inside

Hello all,

I am a traveler myself but if i am at home you will be welcome to stay for a while. Best chance is in summer as the weather is nicer, so I tend to travel in winter.

I recently moved to Doesburg wich is a very beautiful old town in the middle of nature. Great for hiking and biking. Bikes are available.
It is pretty touristic since it is an old market town so in summertime there are lots of activities. Nearby is an museum with a lot of paintings of Vincent van Gogh.

I could use some help decorating my apartment and searching out a lot of stuff I have. Also i help out some friends of mine who have "farms" so we could also make some hours there. We share day to day task such as cleaning and cooking. Don't worry, enough time to relax and enjoy the region.

I am not a vegetarian but do not mind adjusting to your needs. If you have any questions, please write... I prefer to have a video call to see if we all feel good about me hosting you!

Let's make the world a... more inside

Hi all,

We have two boats, MPS Noorderzon The Cabin and MPS Amsterdam, that we run as a hotel/hostel located in Oosterdok, a 5-minute walk away from Centraal Station.

We already have a diverse and multilingual team of staff and volunteers and a large-but-young Italian Great Dane, but need some extra hands to run the boat. We are also working on renovating the boats (slowly), so anyone with experience of painting and sanding would be a big advantage.
We ask volunteers to work 5 hours a day for 5/6 days a week (depending on how busy we are) and consists mainly of cleaning the rooms, laundry, breakfast, and occasionally helping on check-in.

In exchange for your help, you have a bed in a room, breakfast, lunch, free bikes to use, and some beers if you'd like. You'll also have the perfect opportunity to chill with the guests and help us to keep a great atmosphere on the boats.

We are always looking for some nice, fun, hard-working, and curious volunteers to join the team. ... more inside

Our house, which used to be an old barn, burned down in 2015. We are now rebuilding it completely by hand and converting the ruins into four zero-energy houses. We are therefore looking for volunteers with experience or an interest in construction between April and November.

You will stay in the house next door, which is fully furnished and comfortable, and we will provide food, though you will do your own cooking. You will be required to do four to five hours of work per (week-)day.

Our place is uniquely situated on a canal that runs between the lively cities of Delft and Rotterdam. The tiny, friendly village of around 100 inhabitants is surrounded by meadows and the area is ideal for cycling. There are no shops, but there is an hourly bus to Rotterdam and Delft (ca. 15 minutes) and you can borrow our bicycles and canoe/boat.

PLEASE NOTE that we will only respond to volunteers who have actually read this text. Only too often do we receive messages from people who are clear... more inside
