Welcome!
I´m Jacobo (39). I recently got the land in Malaga province, Andalusia. The land is beautifully situated in a valley in national park Sierra de las Nieves (Snowy mountains), between towns of Ojén and Monda. 20 minutes drive to the beach.

The land is around 5 acre, totally organic. There are around 100 trees, 70 olives, oranges, almonds, apricots and many more. As we recently started settling down here, big part of our daily tasks include construction. We use mostly recycled materials for building and construction. We are also starting a garden, collecting and preserving food, firewood etc. At the moment we are constructing a house with a green roof, pruning trees, painting walls and landscaping/gardening.

We offer you a bed in a volunteer room or comfortable tent with mattress, also here are a big parking to put your van, hot shower and meals (mostly vege) in exchange for 4,5 hours help 6 days a week.

In northern Spain, on the CAMINO DE SANTIAGO, we are running an albergue for pilgrims, for the third year.
It is located right ón the Camino Primitivo, so all pilgrims will pass here on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

If you want to be a part of a wonderful Camino-experience: please read on...

If you decide to apply for one of the jobs, be clear in how we can all benefit from your talent(s).
We really love completed profiles with picture(s). Do not forget to include your (from-until) availability.

ABOUT US
Between beautiful mountain slopes, the albergue is situated in the heart of the small pueblo of Salas (Asturias).
We sometimes have up to 35 pelgrims staying, divided into 3 shared and 5 private rooms.

In high season, almost 100 pilgrims pass every day, after sometimes having walked for more than 2 weeks.

We were an anglo-bolivian couple with two young kids, Ivi(10) and Ari(7),but are now separated (harmoniously), with Vivi living in a house in Mecina, a village 2 km away. The children are half the time with her and half the time with me. An idyllic smallholding with lots of growing and some construction jobs (retaining walls, etc). No road access, 10mins walk from nearest village, (some of the most beautiful walking trails in all Andalucia on the doorstep). Solar panel electricity. Wifi available. Accommodation is either a 6metre diameter Mongolian yurt with minimal electricity, gas cooker and a good wood-burning stove or a small house above with similar facilities and fantastic views. Both are very independent from the main house and are cosy and spacious. Can cater for veggies but not for vegans. Looking for help with country work, building, childcare, cooking and also website creation and the marketing of this property as an alternative destination for tourist rentals. Our project is located in a natural park, surrounded by forest, primarily of cork oaks, with running water all around. It’s an idyllic, peaceful place. The nearest (small) village is a thirty minute walk up the mountain from our valley. We are creating a retreat/workshop space and forest garden. There are lots of mature trees, vines and bushes onsite, including orange, mandarin, lemon, fig, apple, pear, quince, avocado, pomegranate, peach, apricot, kiwi, plum, grapes, cherry, persimmon and olive. There are also some edible mushrooms that grow wild onsite and in the surrounding area. We like to work with nature, help build the soil and maintain a habitat for wildlife. There are many kinds of insects, lizards, snakes, wild boar, foxes, badgers and other animals in the area.

Our diet is vegan, except for occasional local eggs. We eat lots of fresh fruit (whatever is in season here) and veg. There is potential for foraging wild food onsite and in the surrounding area.

We have a so... more inside
