Hi, my name is Jeff. I have lived on Cape Breton Island most of my life. I have a small property on the outer edge of the national park at Pleasant Bay, halfway around the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands. Looking for someone who would be interested in helping with daily cleaning for my airbnb. I could also use some help setting up a glamping site and helping on a small cottage, no experience necessary. In the off season Im looking for people to help with updating and building websites, if you know wordpress that would be great and if you know some basic yoga that would be a plus.
Accommodations and food provided, some cooking maybe required. You will have lots of time to explore and hike all the trails! I have a puppy now, " Molly "

Space available!

I moved to this beautiful region of Nova Scotia 7 years a go after living 10 years in Britain. I've recently opened our artisanal micro-scale goat cheese dairy. I run a pastured ethically minded operation with dairy goats, heritage breed pigs and poultry.

My home (and the farm) dates from the 1780s when German settlers first arrived to this region of Canada.

The farm is a mix of woodlands, pastures, an old orchard, some ponds etc. and is near the gorgeous seaside town of Mahone Bay (10 mins by car, 30min by bike) but also completely private. Most everyone comments that the farm is a beautiful and peaceful place.

There's kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding etc nearby. The UNESCO World Heritage Town of Lunenburg (lots of German and sailing heritage) is also nearby and Halifax is an hour away. The South Shore of NS is known for its beautiful coastline, antique shops, wineries and sandy beaches. There are multiple farmers markets in the vicinity.

This is a cross between a homestay and a farmstay- it's a hobby farm with a summer vegetable garden and some livestock. I try to produce as much of my own food as I can on the farm, and the long-term goal is to make the place as self-sufficient as possible. I am constantly working on improving and expanding the farm, as well as doing repairs and renovations as needed. The farm is currently a one-woman show, so it takes a lot of time and effort to stay on top of the work.

Current livestock consists of a few chickens and a pair of ducks. This is also the home of the local guinea pig rescue, so there's a varying number of cavies in the house at any given time. There are also 2 small and friendly dogs and 3 cats (2 are indoors, while one happily lives in the barn). If you have allergies, be prepared to bring your medications! There is a guest room available for the helpers, which can be kept pet-free if necessary.

The house/farm is a 20 minute drive from Dartmouth and Halifax. P... more inside

We grow organic table grapes , a good size vegetable garden and a few fruit trees. We have some construction projects such as a large tree house with a zip line and a green house made of wood and glass and clearing of brush and of course tending to the grape vines and garden. We can teach you the skills or if you already have them that is great. This is a real farm experience with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, paddle boat, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, tv, phone and the use of our car to go to near by towns. There are separate accommodations for helpers and a communal kitchen for you to enjoy cooking together with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay.
Hope you can make it here.

We have a simple but modern homestead in the beautiful wooded hills of central PEI.
We can use help with household chores, small organic vegetable and flower gardens, cutting and splitting firewood, wood trail maintenance, home construction and renovation projects, home maintenance, wood lot maintenance, organizing nails and screws and other hardware, painting, staining and many other small tasks.
We have 'out the back door' access to great hiking and skiing trails and canoeing. And we're close to the South Shore beaches and lovely villages (everything's pretty close on PEI). We love and sometimes organize singalongs and community dances.
Fragrance free zone!

Hello, I am an old man living in a house with 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. I am right on the Bay of Fundy and have a Golden Retriever and a cat.
Since I am older, I would need help with bringing in wood, housekeeping, driving me to get groceries, walking the dog, etc.
I would need long term help if possible, but are also content with short term. I would love it if someone could stay with me all winter long and hibernate by the sea with me. It would be ideal for someone who loves to read or is working on a novel or loves to paint or just someone who wants to get back to themselves in a place where nature and the ocean is your best friend.

You will have your own room, great food and be right on the water. Car available.
Drop me a line of you are interested. Cheers, Henry

Welcome to one of the most diverse farms in the province! Situated in the mainland of Nova Scotia, and close to the city of Halifax, sits a 9th generation family run farm.

We have realized that in order for our farm to grow along side our 9th generation, we need to diversify into new business ventures to support our family. One of the main areas our farm has diversified in recent years has been with Eco-tourism. Since 2011, our farm has hosted Mountain Biking and Obstacle Adventure Events, plus a running a Haunted Corn Maze, see website links above.

The majority of the help we need on our farm is with growing our Eco tourism Adventure events. There is a lot of work that goes into these events and on any given day, you could be helping to build wild obstacles, clearing new Mountain bike trails, making promotional event videos, searching for supplies, designing new obstacles, scaring people in a Haunted Corn maze, preparing event grounds, or taking part in an event!
