We grow organic table grapes , a good size vegetable garden, a few fruit trees and chickens. There are some construction projects such as a large tree house with a zip line and a green house made of wood and glass and clearing of brush and of course tending to the grape vines and garden. We can teach you the skills or if you already have them that is great. This is a real farm experience with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, paddle boat, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, tv, phone and go to near by towns such as Wolfville as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus.The accommodations are seperate for helpers and a communal kitchen for you to enjoy cooking together with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay.
Hope you can make... more inside

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term.

I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. I am transitioning the farms to more of a communal space with plans for an ashram/yoga retreat in one of the houses.

There are three acres of wild blueberries that I want to convert to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. We used to have lots of beautiful alpacas, but sometimes life has other plans for us. My partner and I went our separate ways last year, and the alpacas were sold while I was briefly away. I have started rebuilding the alpaca herd, though. Got a real beautiful black alpaca recently. We will create beautiful alpaca fibre items again. :-)

In the past, we harvested a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is ... more inside

Come visit Cape Breton and stay in a house built in the late 1800s and still enjoyed by descendants of original residents. Separate travel trailer available but needs some TLC and amenities developed.

Are you interested in a place to really explore nature? Plant a garden? Do some creative work? Why not come and share a house near the Bras d'Or Lakes, with open fields, gardens, forest? Help out with the wood pile, compost making, gardens, cooking? Or there's always jobs in the simple house maintenance and housekeeping category. Current priority is fencing to keep the abundant deer out of the gardens.

Wood heated farmhouse, barn, lots of indoor and outdoor work, plenty of choice of tasks, high speed internet, interested in permaculture, co-housing, art, market gardening, small buildings. Plenty of places to go hiking.

Might suit someone looking for a quiet place to write. Or a potter, studio available, with some cleaning up first.

Looking for some general help around the p... more inside

We invite hard-working happy people to help with kitchens and gardens (both decorative and produce), along with some events, programs, etc. It's an amazing community and you can be part of making it even better!

We have a magnificent arts centre based on 75 hectares of fields and forest overlooking the Bay of Fundy, only 20 minutes from Wolfville and 80 minutes from Halifax. In winter, we need help with light construction projects, and assisting with some of our community programs. Spring, summer and fall, we need help with the arts projects and with the large gardens, and with the kitchen.

It is an amazing place, and when open programs are available, we invite our volunteers to take part in great arts programs (when available)!

Also looking for cooks, people to help with ushering for the theatre, etc.

Looking for interesting, helpful people who want a new experience and want to make something beautiful!

We welcome people to come work and learn with us for long and short stays. We produce organic vegetables and pastrured eggs for a two hundred share CSA, farmer's market and for wholesale accounts. Helping new and aspiring farmers to learn new skills is a priority for us.

We are dedicated Christians that are committed to respecting all people. There is a lot of laughter and good times here, but it is not a place to party with drugs and alcohol.

We work with our paid interns from six thirty am till six pm with an hour and a half for lunch. Help X guests are expected to work with us for half the day.

The farm is located on the banks of a tidal river, half a KM from the beautiful Bay of Fundy. We have great biodiversity with extensive salt marshes, forest and fields on the farm. In addition to our three hectares of vegetables, we started planting food forrest trees in '94. Our Korean Stone pines trees are beginning give us pine nuts after 15 years!

This is a very small getaway retreat in rural Nova Scotia consisting of 1 3 bdrm. cottage and a movement studio with artists loft above where I live. I have been developing it slowly over 10 years and have reached the point where we can now offer retreats, workshops or gatherings for small groups. Our mandate is to provide a safe place for people to gather for rest, play and retreat in an comfortable sharing space.

Much of the big work has been accomplished at this point so many of the jobs I need help with are smaller in nature, landscaping, repair and maintenance etc. Sometimes just another pair of hands is a great thing and there are always jobs to do. Currently in need of some carpentry experience and anyone interested in landscaping and general handyman kind of stuff. I would like help with pallet construction for small projects.

Simplicity is intentional here as is taking time to connect to nature, to be with self, to have Bodywork and to release through movement. This... more inside
