We grow organic table grapes , a good size vegetable garden and a few fruit trees. We have some construction projects such as a large tree house with a zip line and a green house made of wood and glass and clearing of brush and of course tending to the grape vines and garden. We can teach you the skills or if you already have them that is great. This is a real farm experience with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, paddle boat, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, tv, phone and the use of our car to go to near by towns. There are separate accommodations for helpers and a communal kitchen for you to enjoy cooking together with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay.
Hope you can make it here.

This is a nascent family farm that wants to be a soil-building, carbon-sequestering, food-raising, community-nurturing, nature-connecting, regenerative permaculture homestead and learning centre when it grows up.

The household is focused on learning about all the things. There is an extensive library, musical instruments abound and a love of food, locally and sustainably grown, is central. We work hard but also love being creative, having Pizza and Movie Night and exploring the woods to ferret out some of Mother Nature`s secrets. We speak a little French and are interested in learning about Your launguage and culture.

Usually we will work together on projects, but I sometimes have non-farm-related work that takes my time and attention, so the ability to work independently is important. Generally I expect 4-6 hours of work a day, depending on what needs doing at the time.

We use permaculture principles and try always to partner with and learn from Nature in creating this spa... more inside

Hi, my name is Jeff. I have lived on Cape Breton Island most of my life. I have a small property on the outer edge of the national park at Pleasant Bay, halfway around the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands. Looking for someone who would be interested in helping with daily cleaning for my airbnb and cooking, no experience necessary. Accommodations and food provided. You will have lots of time to explore and hike all the trails!

Open to hosting individuals who are willing to help with a variety of tasks indoors and outdoors around my home. I have a small garden and older farm house and there are always seasonal tasks to be done around the property. The work asked of volunteers may include: help with the garden, firewood, painting indoors or outdoors, doing repairs indoor or out. Possibly willing to rent a room if you are working on a farm or seasonal business in the area.

This is a great location for exploring Western Cape Breton Island- with beaches, hiking trails, lakes and rivers, museums, history, Celtic music, dances and other forms of entertainment nearby. If you have any questions or wish to know more, please send me a message. Thank you.

I need help with two businesses - a 'Home Away / airbnb rental home and a sailing school.
I ask for approximately 8 to 12 hours a week looking after the rental unit and 4 weeks help getting the sailboat ready for the summer season and another 4 weeks decommisioning it in the fall.
I offer accommodations in a self-contained apartment attached to the rental unit and/or live aboard on the boat (37 foot sloop with pilothouse). I'm pretty flexible about all of this.

We have a large organic garden and greenhouse, in which we grow food just for our household. There is a variety of jobs needed around the place. We have 3 cabins that are rented out and are busy....but we mainly need assistance with maintenance around the property and in the garden. There is often a building project that Terry would supervise and sometimes there are small jobs to be done in the pottery. Helpers would live with us in our large home, have their own bedroom and bathroom, eat all meals etc. We have one dog, Chance, who is a very friendly and fun dog.

We own this property since spring 2013.
It is a cozy Restaurant and Inn with 7 rooms.
The property is mostly woods and goes up hill
with a lake on top. You think you are going back in time, when you walk up to the lake.
There are a lot of renovations going on.
Mostly we are looking for help with woodwork, in the kitchen or garden.
If you have time and want to spent it close at the Atlantic Ocean contact us.
We love to hear from you
