We grow organic table grapes , a good size vegetable garden, a few fruit trees and chickens. There are some construction projects such as a large tree house with a zip line and a green house made of wood and glass and clearing of brush and of course tending to the grape vines and garden. We can teach you the skills or if you already have them that is great. This is a real farm experience with some fun too. There is biking to town, swimming in the ocean or our lake, fishing, basketball, volleyball, hiking, nature walks, beach strolling and look for fossils at Blue Beach, camp fires , rope swing in our little lake, paddle boat, take in the fantastic views, sunsets, star gazing, internet, tv, phone and go to near by towns such as Wolfville as well as the rest of the Annapolis Valley with the local bus.The accommodations are seperate for helpers and a communal kitchen for you to enjoy cooking together with an abundance of food. This is a more independent farm stay.

If you love nature you will like it here. With the Atlantic Ocean right on our doorstep our almost 200 year old home stead looks like something out of a picture book. Welcome to one of the most diverse farms in the province! Situated in the mainland of Nova Scotia, and close to the city of Halifax, sits a 9th generation family run farm.

We have realized that in order for our farm to grow along side our 9th generation, we need to diversify into new business ventures to support our family. One of the main areas our farm has diversified in recent years has been with Eco-tourism. Since 2011, our farm has hosted Mountain Biking and Obstacle Adventure Events, plus a running a Haunted Corn Maze, see website links above.

The majority of the help we need on our farm is with growing our Eco tourism Adventure events. There is a lot of work that goes into these events and on any given day, you could be helping to build wild obstacles, clearing new Mountain bike trails, making promotional event videos, searching for supplies, designing new obstacles, scaring people in a Haunted Corn maze, preparing event grounds, or taking part in an event! Open to hosting individuals who are willing to help with a variety of tasks indoors and outdoors around my home. I have a small garden and older farm house and there are always seasonal tasks to be done around the property. The work asked of volunteers may include: help with the garden, firewood, painting or doing repairs indoor or out. Possibly willing to rent a room if you are working on a farm or seasonal business in the area.

This is a great location for exploring Western Cape Breton Island- with beaches, hiking trails, lakes and rivers, museums, history, Celtic music, dances and other forms of entertainment nearby. If you have any questions or wish to know more, please send me a message. Thank you.

Property maintenance: mulching, harvesting, planting, watering and weeding.
It’s an incredibly beautiful but busy time. I am looking for help with garden mulching, harvesting and rotation crops for fall. Also, looking to build a new pond and water feature for the barn.

Our property is conveniently located close to the beautiful white sand beaches, the LaHave river (Bakery) and the town of Bridgewater. We are a family of 5 with three young children (ages 8, 6 and 3). We have been working on our land for four years establishing a fruit orchard, veggie gardens, enriching and repairing soil, raising animals for eggs and meat, and applying permaculture principles to the land.

We have bees, chickens, two cows and a dog. We surf and visit the beach often. Bicycles are available to explore the area.
The accommodation has a queen size bed and a couch to sleep on. It is located above the workshop and has WiFi. The kitchen and facilities in the house are shared and we always appr... more inside

Namaste! Thank you for stopping by. :-) I hope you will join me on my journey for a month, 2 months, or long-term.

I have a pair of picturesque, riverfront hobby farms, each with a large 4-bedroom house. I am transitioning the farms to more of a communal space with plans for an ashram/yoga retreat in one of the houses.

There are three acres of wild blueberries that I want to convert to organic production, six acres of pasture, and about eight acres of woods that provide more than enough firewood to heat both homes without having to clear-cut any areas. We used to have lots of beautiful alpacas, but sometimes life has other plans for us. My partner and I went our separate ways last year, and the alpacas were sold while I was briefly away. I have started rebuilding the alpaca herd, though. Got a real beautiful black alpaca recently. We will create beautiful alpaca fibre items again. :-)

In the past, we harvested a small portion of our food from the property, and my vision is ... more inside
