HELP URGENTLY NEEDED FOR AUGUST AND SEPTEMPER

We are an off grid homestead located on 74 acres of forest in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. We have been homesteading on the property for a year now, building alternative infrastructure and working towards a self-reliant life. We are currently in the process of setting up various gardening and livestock systems. Our major building project for August and September will be completing a small timber frame house with cordwood infill with a live roof.

Accomodations consist of tent platforms for August with a potential cabin available for September depending on availability. We are in the early stages of infrastructure development and accommodations are rustic camp style. We are a non smoking property and are scent free due to allergies. We will be hosting up to 4 volunteers for the month of August and September.

Our vision is to create a gathering place for others to learn through experiential experiences connecting with the land an... more inside

Hello, we are an older couple living in a house with 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. My husband loves to cook and look after people. I am still busy helping my daughter with her business. We have a golden retriever and a cat in the house, both part of the family and we love them very much.
We live right on the Bay of Fundy, at a beach, and it is beautiful.

Since we are older, we would need help with mowing, painting, walking the dog, etc. I am also a vendor at the wolfville farm market and might need help there also. We are always busy in the summer and there is always stuff to do. I will spend time also in Harbourville, where we have cottage rentals and would also take you with me to Harbourville.

You will have your own room, great food and be right on the water.
Drop me a line of you are interested. Cheers, Maria

What a perfect time of year to visit!

Hi there. We are a very cool mother and son who are busy developing our five acres into a sustainable, off grid homestead on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Our plans include having AirBnB cottages/tiny homes, teaching studio and meditation retreat. We are looking for people who are hardworking, skilled or eager to learn. We would welcome individuals or couples to share this experience with us for a few days, a week, or for whatever long is available.

My son Jorel does lots of forestry and has a band saw mill to cut most of the lumber needed on our land. He does heavy duty and small engine repair, carpentry, and is very interested in sharing and learning new skills. He has travelled abroad for many years and experienced WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). We are super excited to share our little piece of the world to others interested in this lifestyle.

I am Johanna, the mom. I have previously owned a Bed an... more inside

This is a thriving Bed and Breakfast which I run on my own. There are red current and gooseberry bushes, rhubarb plants and space for a garden but I have not had time to maintain the garden.
The Bed and Breakfast is located on the ocean (in a sheltered cove) which is perfect for kayaking or swimming. Conveniently located to explore Halifax or the South Shore of Nova Scotia and minutes away from iconic Peggy's Cove.
I like help with greeting the guests and serving breakfast, laundry, cleaning the rooms and some yard or garden work. This requires up to 4 or 5 hours per day working along side me (many days less). Room and Board provided. I prefer minimum stays of 2 to 3 weeks. The greatest need is from June to end of September. I am now looking for helpers for the fall of 2018....and next summer.

We need help - hard-working happy people urgently needed to help with kitchens and gardens (both decorative and produce), along with some events, programs, etc. It's an amazing community and you can be part of making it even better!

We have a magnificent arts centre based on 75 hectares of fields and forest overlooking the Bay of Fundy, only 20 minutes from Wolfville and 80 minutes from Halifax. In winter, we need help with light construction projects, and assisting with some of our community programs. Spring, summer and fall, we need help with the arts projects and with the large gardens, and with the kitchen.

It is an amazing place, and when open programs are available, we invite our volunteers to take part in great arts programs (when available)!

Also looking for cooks, people to help with ushering for the theatre, etc.

Looking for interesting, helpful people who want a new experience and want to make something beautiful!

We live on 81 acres of beautiful Nova Scotia forest and field. We have 36 Alaskan huskies, 2 rottie crosses and 1 Podenco.

We are also in the process of preparing to move back to the Yukon Territory in September. Deb needs help with a lot of outside work like gardening, grass cutting, painting to name a few little jobs.

There will also be daily kennel cleaning(poop scooping) and watering and feeding of the dogs. Also tons of time to just hang out with the dogs. They are the main focus.

Our 2 rottie x's are very friendly and live with us in the house along a Padenco from a rescue in Spain. He is definitely our entertainment at times. So you must love dogs to enjoy your stay here.

No experience required - just a love of animals, and working with them. We will provide training. The work is heavy at times so you must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs. You must also be confident working on your own from time to time.

Right now it is too hot to run the dogs s... more inside
