Looking for fun and helpful individuals interested in visiting Toronto. Looking for company and some general help around the house.

You will do around 3 hours each day of work - without my needing to chase after you. Might also be interested in any special skills you have.

You will be sleeping in either my guest room or basement depending on when you are coming and whether I'm already hosting anyone else. I live up by Finch West station, about a 2 min walk from the station. There's not a ton to do in my area but its very easy to go downtown where there is a lot to do.

I generally prefer that you are back by late evening so we can hang out. You can stay out late occasionally, with a general weekday curfew of 1030pm and weekend curfew of 1130pm. This is not the place to stay if you are hoping to be out clubbing etc regularly.

Offering space to stay and breakfast only. There's internet and I can show you around the University and probably a few other places depending on my... more inside

.January, 2019.
Time to start thinking about the post Winter & Spring opening routines- maple syrup production , branch and debris clean-up, field burning, the pool, the garden, the underground water systems and machinery maintenance, fence-rows and roadside clearing. Lots of trimming and finishing in the recently built GREAT ROOM extension with farm grown, felled and milled wood.
No pics of snow blowing after a monster storm, no pics of maple syrup production, of the vegetable garden, of the many flower beds to be kept, of the wide expanse of lawns to mow, of weed whacking, forest management and maintenance, the portable saw-mill, the summer cottage, rhubarb chutney processing, the asparagus bed, the apple harvest, and no pics of the fitness room trampoline or the five workshops.
WHAT HELPX MEANS TO ME: Giving HelpXers a chance to be creative, inventive, resourceful and independent, given access to the extensive machinery and equipment that is available. Sure, the camaraderie a... more inside

I welcome you to stay on a horse and hobby farm!
Here you can enjoy peace and tranquility, live in plain country side with adorable rescue animals, pick up a lot of skills, and live out your creativity.

You should be interested in (at least) two of the following tasks:

- Taking care of horses and exercising them
- Keeping dogs busy, agility training
- Feeding the animals (horses, dogs, llamas, alpacas, cats)
- Heating the house with wood stoves
- Healthy, vegetarian cooking
- Small building projects (if you are interested)
- Helping me maintaining vintage tractors and cars (if you are interested)

This little paradise also lives from the dreams and experiences of volunteers from all over the world. If you have a project in mind you always wanted to realize - talk to me ;o)

All food is included. All dietary needs will be met. We cook mostly vegetarian meals. Sometimes also vegan, if there is a vegan person among us.

In winter there are usually 2 - 3 helpers here,... more inside

Hey everybody
My name is Josef Theiler and this is Theiler farm. We milk 70 cows, and 250 goats twice a day, 365 days a year and work about 400 acres. There is always plenty of work to do, from feeding the calves and cows to bedding, maintenance, tidying up,housework, yardwork, tractor driving, carpentry and mechanics. I have a passion for inventing things and automation, with a well equipped ( though somewhat disorganized )workshop. The work arrangements are pretty flexible, I don`t like to count hours, so usually we work when there is work but we also try to make time for some fun. During the summer months we go to local fairs and events, the occasional boat ride or water skiing, and there are always beers in the fridge. You will get to see what farming is really like. I am willing to teach you whatever you`d like to learn, if you put in a good effort. Special preference given to anyone with a trade, mechanics, builders, plumbers etc, there is always something to do with Possibi... more inside

We are located in Ontario Canada, on Manitoulin Island the largest fresh water Island in the world, heart of the great lakes. This large Island has 108 inland lakes and sandy beaches.
We have a 1/4 h garden that provides organic local food for our tea garden lunches. In July and August we host a dinner event called Gourmet Garden Gig with live entertainment Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Our garden provides a space to linger and enjoy a cup of tea at lunch time. We teach our help-x about most we do. You like to learn gardening, bee-keeping, cooking, herbs, remedies and selling good food, you're a great fit for our small but very diverse little business. Farm to Table is what it is called in Canada. Since we teach various skills we prefer help-x to stay a minimum of 2-3 weeks, we also welcome help for a longer period.

Are you good at kids? Do you play music? Do you want to get creative about interior designing? Do you have some knowledge about gardening and composting? Are you simply good at cleaning? Some basic renovation skills like insulation, putting wooden floors, etc?

We are in the city of Hamilton, which sits between Toronto and the Niagra Falls. It's a busy house - we rent out some rooms while having the first floor all to ourselves. So you will have your own room on the 1st floor - we can host a couple, two friends or solo travelers. We haven't decorated that room yet but we are looking for talented people like you to help with it.

The exchange will be accommodation+meals for 25 hours/week. 2 week's stay or longer is preferred. Some babysitting (my daughter is 4.5 years old), some cleaning, some interior decorating and small renovation job and some shared cooking, music and laugh.

We don't really have rules about what time you start to work-it could be any reasonable hours de... more inside

Gardening, forestry
We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto.
We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help.
This is a no smoking environment.
