Looking for fun and helpful individuals interested in visiting Toronto. Looking for company and some general help around the house.

You will do around 3 hours each day of work - without my needing to chase after you. Might also be interested in any special skills you have.

You will be sleeping in either my guest room or basement depending on when you are coming and whether I'm already hosting anyone else. I live up by Finch West station, about a 2 min walk from the station. There's not a ton to do in my area but its very easy to go downtown where there is a lot to do.

I generally prefer that you are back by late evening so we can hang out. You can stay out late occasionally, with a general weekday curfew of 1030pm and weekend curfew of 1130pm. This is not the place to stay if you are hoping to be out clubbing etc regularly.

Offering space to stay and breakfast only. There's internet and I can show you around the University and probably a few other places depending on my... more inside

Hey everybody
My name is Josef Theiler and this is Theiler farm. We milk 70 cows, and 250 goats twice a day, 365 days a year and work about 400 acres. There is always plenty of work to do, from feeding the calves and cows to bedding, maintenance, tidying up,housework, yardwork, tractor driving, carpentry and mechanics. I have a passion for inventing things and automation, with a well equipped ( though somewhat disorganized )workshop. The work arrangements are pretty flexible, I don`t like to count hours, so usually we work when there is work but we also try to make time for some fun. During the summer months we go to local fairs and events, the occasional boat ride or water skiing, and there are always beers in the fridge. You will get to see what farming is really like. I am willing to teach you whatever you`d like to learn, if you put in a good effort. Special preference given to anyone with a trade, mechanics, builders, plumbers etc, there is always something to do with Possibi... more inside

January, 2020.
Time to start thinking about post Winter & Spring opening routines- maple syrup production, branch and debris clean-up, field burning, the pool, the garden, the underground water systems and machinery maintenance, fence-rows and roadside clearing.
No pics of snow blowing after a monster storm, no pics of maple syrup production, of the vegetable garden, of the many flower beds to be kept, of the wide expanse of lawns to mow, of weed whacking, forest management and maintenance, the portable saw-mill, the summer cottage, rhubarb chutney processing, the asparagus bed, the apple harvest, and no pics of the fitness room trampoline or the five workshops.
WHAT HELPX MEANS TO ME: Giving HelpXers a chance to be creative, inventive, resourceful and independent, given access to the extensive machinery and equipment that is available. Sure, the camaraderie and companionship are important, as are the opportunities to experience a variety of culinary delights that are brought t... more inside

Gardening, forestry
We live in a small cottage on a friendly lake about 3 hours north of Toronto.
We have the usual cottage toys available, canoe, small sailboat, row boat. Looking for help with selective cutting trees for firewood and lumber which we cut on our own small mill. Hopefully someone that is a better gardener than we are as we would like to start growing our own produce and maybe even get some chickens. Help with some construction and painting projects. We have some old machinery we are always trying to keep running. We are offering free accommodation and meals in exchange for help.
This is a no smoking environment.

Greetings Future Helpers!

We are new to hosting, but have the guidance of two friends and neighbours in Hockley Valley who are very experienced HelpX hosts. We are both retired now, but very active in community organizations, particularly arts and culture and environmental organizations. We look forward to meeting helpers interested in learning about Ontario, Canada and the SouthWest Ontario area.

Outdoor work is required which could be tree pruning, weed-wacking, lawn and trail mowing, gardening, weeding, fixing fences, window washing, digging to insulate a cold room, painting and repairing wood furniture (if it rains), etc. Helpers work 5 hours per day, 6 days a week. However, hours are flexible should you wish to take two days off to travel or explore, and we can help with that. Only non-smokers please.

We are located on 35 acres of what was once a 100 acre working farm but is now a forested property. We live in a fully renovated farmhouse with several outbuildings (... more inside

We are now looking for animal loving, small farm ideology focused people interested in starting in March - preference given to those willing to stay 4 weeks or more. *The month of May is now booked*

Hello Helpxers! Let us introduce ourselves. My name is Carola and I live with my husband Jeremy, our 6 year old son Henry and my mom Heike on a 50 acre farm in the Hills of Mulmur here in Ontario. We have a small hobby farm. From the spring to the fall we have 40 chickens, 25 turkeys and 6 ducks.
My husband is a mechanic and works in the nearby town of Shelburne. I work from home and have a pet sitting/dog hotel business. My business is well known, well respected in the industry, where we keep up to 10 dogs with no cages or crates, though in a separate part of the house. I can perhaps teach you about dogs and their behaviours if this is of interest for you. We live in a very rural area so there is no public transportation but its only 12 minutes to the nearest town with stores (Shel... more inside

We are located in Ontario Canada, on Manitoulin Island the largest fresh water Island in the world, heart of the great lakes. This large Island has 108 inland lakes and sandy beaches.
We have a 1/4 h garden that provides organic local food for our tea garden lunches. In July and August we host a dinner event called Gourmet Garden Gig with live entertainment Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Our garden provides a space to linger and enjoy a cup of tea at lunch time. We teach our help-x about most we do. You like to learn gardening, bee-keeping, cooking, herbs, remedies and selling good food, you're a great fit for our small but very diverse little business. Farm to Table is what it is called in Canada. Since we teach various skills we prefer help-x to stay a minimum of 2-3 weeks, we also welcome help for a longer period.
Both Guy and I love sharing life`s knowledge how to live sustainable with a small carbon footprint creating the biodiverity needed by birds, bugs and us.
You will have... more inside

Greetings Weary Travellers!

Thanks for the wonderful help this year.
I will be booking helpers for May 2020.

I WOULD PREFER HELPERS WHO ARE 25 TO 40 YEARS OLD, PERHAPS, BUT NOT NECESSARILY, WITH SKILLS IN CONSTRUCTION, CARPENTRY OR ELECTRICAL OR ABLE TO HANDLE GAS POWERED EQUIPMENT FOR GARDENING.

We are situated on 22 acres with spectacular views of the countryside-just one hour north of Toronto by car and accessible by GO train or GO bus to Orangeville where I can pick you up.
There are three bedrooms available to helpers decorated as India, the Mediterranean or the Commonwealth, with two single beds in each and great views. Each room has indoor and outdoor access. There is a lower room leading to the garden just for helpers to read, view videos and play games. Laundry available as well. Now a picture perfect bunkie for 2 or 3 is available, thanks to the hard work of helpers. Most recently, we have added a small private ZEN room for peace or meditation. There is an... more inside

START IN EARLY JUNE 2020 - EXTRA PAIR OF HANDS WANTED IN EXCHANGE FOR ROOM & BOARD - WATERFRONT COTTAGE PROPERTY - Northern Ontario, Canada GREAT SCENERY - LEISURELY PACE

BC is not the only place with Great Scenery and there is a lot less rain here. Hope you will give us a chance to show you what we are talking about.

We live on an unspoiled pristine lake in a wilderness forest area in northern Ontario Canada and are looking for a guy who is a motivated "Volunteer Visitor" who is an easy-going self starter and does not smoke and eats regular food.

The opportunity we offer would be ideal for someone who loves the tranquil setting of a lakeside home surrounded by hundreds of square miles of protected forest and enjoys being in and on the water (or would like to experience "the land of ice and snow" in winter).

For continuity, we prefer long term visitors. We now have an opening for a visitor to start in late January 2020 and will also be booking through to the end of 202... more inside
