** I have room for 1-2 helpers beginning Jan 1st **

My niece and I have a scenic country home on two acres with spectacular views of rolling hills. There are excellent hiking and biking trails nearby, and beaches of Lake Simcoe are only 20 minutes away by car, one hour by bike. We will be happy to drive you there. Zephyr golf course is a 5 minute walk. Two bicycles and high speed WiFi is available. We have two dogs and two cats. We are located one hour north of Toronto - accessible by Go Transit to Newmarket, where we will pick you up. On your days off, we will be happy to take you to Newmarket to catch the train/bus to Toronto. We can do the cooking but are happy to share the cooking, and will welcome any specialties you may have. We are not vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. Work assignments include weeding, mowing, trimming, painting, window washing, and some housekeeping and dog walking, with 4-5 hours a day, and 2 days off. We would really like to have helpers that ... more inside

We are located in Ontario Canada, on Manitoulin Island the largest fresh water Island in the world, heart of the great lakes. This large Island has 108 inland lakes and sandy beaches.
We have a 1/4 h garden that provides organic local food for our artisan bakery and events restaurant. We host a dinner event called Gourmet Garden Gig with live entertainment Wednesdays and Saturdays in July and August.
Our garden provides a space to linger and enjoy a cup of tea at lunch time. We teach our help-x about most we do. You like to learn gardening, bee-keeping, cooking, herbs, remedies and selling good food, your are a great fit for our small but very diverse little business. Farm to Table is what it is called in Canada. Since we teach various skills we prefer help-x to stay a minimum of 3 weeks, best learning experience will be 4-6 weeks with us.
Both Guy and I love sharing life`s knowledge how to live sustainable with a small carbon footprint.
You will have your own room with share... more inside

Hey everybody
My name is Josef Theiler and this is Theiler farm. We milk 70 cows, and 250 goats twice a day, 365 days a year and work about 400 acres. There is always plenty of work to do, from feeding the calves and cows to bedding, maintenance, tidying up,housework, yardwork, tractor driving, carpentry and mechanics. I have a passion for inventing things and automation, with a well equipped ( though somewhat disorganized )workshop. The work arrangements are pretty flexible, I don`t like to count hours, so usually we work when there is work but we also try to make time for some fun. During the summer months we go to local fairs and events, the occasional boat ride or water skiing, and there are always beers in the fridge. You will get to see what farming is really like. I am willing to teach you whatever you`d like to learn, if you put in a good effort. Special preference given to anyone with a trade, mechanics, builders, plumbers etc, there is always something to do with Possibi... more inside

We are two long time friends who share common goals and desires for a simpler life, living on a fifty acre farmstead located between Ottawa and Montreal. We are in the process of restoring an old farm, reviving pastures and fields, and working towards self sufficiency. We grow fruit & vegetables, and raise Shetland sheep for wool and meat. We also raise chickens for eggs. We use the wool from the sheep to make some of our products that we sell, such as felt hats, toques, mittens, sweaters, and more.

We have been welcoming Canadian and international travelers through various programs for over 15 years, and have had some wonderful times, and developped lasting friendships along the way. We truly enjoy sharing our lives and our love for the homesteading arts and are grateful for the benefits these opportunities bring as well as committed to working through some of the challenges that crop up as strangers become friends. Skills and experience are not as important to us as a wilingnes... more inside

Looking for fun and helpful individuals interested in visiting Toronto. Looking for company and some general help around the house.

You will do things like cleaning, cooking, laundry, ironing, errands and the like - around 2-3 hours each day - without my needing to chase after you. Depending on when you come I might be moving residences and needing help with that. Might also be interested in any special skills you have.

You will be sleeping in my living room. I have an air mattress for you to use, as well as a couch, should you prefer that. The neighborhood is known as Little Jamaica or Eglinton West. There is a Tim Hortons downstairs, two pharmacies across the street, and a big library, supermarket and a couple banks are a couple blocks away.

I generally prefer that you are back by late evening so we can hang out. You can stay out late occasionally, with a general weekday curfew of 1030pm and weekend curfew of 1130pm. This is not the place to stay if you are hoping to be ... more inside

**** 2 helper spots left in December and January ****

I welcome you to stay on a horse and hobby farm!
This is a place where you can enjoy peace and tranquility, live in plain country side with adorable rescue animals, pick up a lot of skills, and live out your creativity!

For this time of the season, I would need:

- 1 more helper interested in handling horses or training dogs.
- 1 helper for healthy vegetarian cooking and the house hold

- Helpers with mechanical or wood working skills are always welcome too.

Please note, this is not a commercial farm, and most projects here are "one-offs", that's why it won't be boring here.

All food is included. All dietary needs will be met. We cook vegetarian meals. Sometimes also vegan, if there is a vegan person among us.

I am happy to teach you driving tractors and pickup trucks, and using power tools, if needed for the job. All tools in an awesome workshop are available.

I am very happy to help you with improving y... more inside

Hello Helpers / Travelers:

My name is Lorna. I have traveled extensively and welcome the opportunity to share my home with like minded travelers.

Hello potential helpers! We are a family of five. Me and 4 four children ages 4-12. The kids all attend Francophone school so native French speakers are appreciated, though we love getting to know people from all cultures and backgrounds. We have been hosting helpers for a number of years now but our family structure has changed to a one parent family.
The ideal guests would be willing and able to help with childminding/babysitting, and household chores, including cleaning, gardening and yard work.

****August/September/maybe October: seeking garden help. Clean up. Plant splitting/planting

This is a family homestay, and as such experience in household tasks, organization, and managing children would be best. I've recently reconfigured sleeping arrangements so that I can more easily accommodate a couple who would have the master bedroom including king sized bed. A 3week minimum stay is prefered because that gives our guests time to get to know us and our routines a... more inside
