Currently looking for helpers Mid-February - April during our busy calving season...Stays of at least a month are preferred..We are a commercial cow/calf operation in northwest SK..We currently calve out approx 200 head.Individuals interested in experiencing real "on farm" life would have a great time here. We always have some kind of projects on the go.. An international driver's licence is not essential for calving season.. Our children are all grown and living on their own but frequently stop by for visits...It is a very quiet lifestyle here..Meals for the most part will be provided and cooked for you.You may have to cook your own meals sometimes but there will always be groceries supplied..Meadow Lake is a great place to visit and the people are great... There are quite a few helpx and woofer hosts in the area and the helpers and woofers generally have quite an active social time with each other and visit back and forth..

Hi! Saskatchewan is not all flat! Don`t miss out! We are the perfect pit stop if you are traveling across Canada. We live in the province of Saskatchewan which is beside Alberta and Manitoba. We are 1-1.5 hours off the Transcanada highway #1 and the same amount of time to the USA border with Montana. We live in a hamlet called Ravenscrag in between Eastend and Maple Creek. We are looking for someone or couple to look after our dogs and cats while we are away February 25- March 11 (you are welcome to stay longer) and there are opportunities to help on the farm. You need to love animals for this experience!! I am substitute teacher, writer, active community member, keep a house, take care of animals and help on the farm. My husband Dale and his family operate a mixed farm with 450 beef cattle and 15,000 acres. Dale is a big Toronto Maple Leafs NHL fan. My brother in law Cliff Allen is also involved with giving direction to helpers on the farm and his partner Nicole likes to host helpe... more inside

About the Farm:

We have a ranch with approximately 50 beef cows and their calves, several horses, two miniature donkeys, a goat, two sheep, two llamas and numerous cats and dogs.

There is no longer a bus service to Meadow Lake but we are able to pick up from North Battleford, Saskatchewan or Cold Lake, Alberta. The KCTI runs from Saskatoon to Edmonton daily, dropping off in North Battleford and the Red Arrow runs from Edmonton to Cold Lake. Since it's a big commitment for us to go to these cities to pick you up, we ask for a minimum commitment of four to six weeks (depending on the time of year).

There's always plenty to do on the farm throughout the year. In winter all our animals are in the home yard and you can help us feed and check on the animals and spring is our calving season - always a busy time but fun time.
In summer you can help us with hauling the hay bales (round bales) from the field to the home yard (using tractors and bale wagons), farmyard maintenance,... more inside

Keith and I have a small diverse farm in east central Saskatchewan very close to the Porcupine Forest. We have a little bit of everything on our farm. We have honey bees. We also have sheep, cows, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, guinea hens and pea fowl.
Our busiest time is mid July to mid September because it's honey season.
We also live close to a lake so we go kayaking and fishing in the evenings. Helpers are welcome to borrow the kayaks or borrow the pedal bikes to explore. We like to spend a lot of evenings sitting around the fire or visiting friends and neighbors. If you're interested in farm life, give us a call. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sandra

We are a thriving food business that sources locally grown farm fresh foods and distributes them. We are in the process of setting up a food hub that will also do workshops and food education for people.
We are looking for people to come and help us get set up with our new food hub by coming on trips out to farms, sorting recycling, preparing meals from local foods, helping customers with the market, etc. In exchange for room and board with fabulous nutrient dense fresh foods and your own private sleeping space, we would like 20-25 hrs per week.

Welcome to the sunny and spacious Parkland area of Saskatchewan where you can see for miles/km in every direction. In the words of a German guest, "Mann kann sich nicht sattsehen, an diesem Himmel. Auch Licht und Farben sind unübertroffen sowie die klare und trockene Luft". We operate a mixed farm and Market Garden approximately 140km east of Saskatoon. Because our farm is near Lake Lenore, we have a beautiful view of the lake while we work in the garden. Occasionally, wild deer come wandering through the yard and garden. You can also see moose, coyotes, foxes, bald eagles, wild geese and ducks and many songbirds. The animals on our farm include cows, pigs, chickens, cats and a very friendly border collie dog, Chloe. We often share work, play and meals with our young grandchildren and their parents. We are looking for people who are willing to help in the garden with planting, weeding, mowing, harvesting, preparing for the Farmers' Market and anything else that needs doing. Help wit... more inside

**Currently looking for help september-january. I own a 50 dog kennel consisting of sprint sled dogs. I race all over Canada and Alaska. So if you really want to explore, this is the place for you!
During the fall training begins. The dogs are ran and trained every second day. We appreciate help with cleaning pens, training the dogs, giving the dogs food and water. During winter months we are on the road most of the time, helpers will then also help drive to, and prepare for races.
This is definitely a great experience for anybody who is physically active and adventurous. My kennel is right next to the Saskatchewan provincial forest with hundreds of kilometres of trails, so helpers can enjoy exploring, quadding and skidooing during free time!
