It's that time of year again. It is honey season. Keith has been busy checking bees and putting supers on the hives. He also started building a square Timber cabin on our other quarter. He has a sawmill so he cuts trees from our land and then saws them into square timbers and then uses them to build.. If you want to help during this time feel free to contact us. Keith and I have a small diverse farm in east central Saskatchewan very close to the Porcupine Forest. We have a little bit of everything on our farm. We have honey bees. We also have sheep, cows, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, guinea hens and pea fowl.
Our busiest time is mid July to mid September because it's honey season.
We also live close to a lake so we go kayaking and fishing in the evenings. Helpers are welcome to borrow the kayaks or borrow the pedal bikes to explore. We like to spend a lot of evenings sitting around the fire or visiting friends and neighbors. If you're interested in farm life, give us a c... more inside

Good morning;
Such good news;more people in Saskatchewan getting better and only 13 deaths in the whole province. Those are all in the NW of the province.
It is so good that you can travel across Canada with no stops at all.Not one border check.
I am healthy and hope you are too.
Many people bypass Saskatchewan as we do not have the population but we do have so much more. Our scenery is some of the best.AND our people are the friendliest.
I thought I should mention that while I was away the end of June 2019,a storm caused the power to be off for over 1 week. When I got home all food stuffs had to be tossed out.The complete contents of 2 fridges and 2 deep freezes had to be emptied and cleaned.
I am looking for help from the middle of July on Please.I am not as young as I used to be.
I have had the most wonderful helpers this spring so far.Things are going well.Come check out my little farm.
This year will be the garden, some cleaning up,fences and firewood, maybe some painting ou... more inside

If you’re needing a place to stay during the Coronavirus pandemic, we’re still open to visitors. Unfortunately the border is still closed so we’d only be able to host people who are already in Canada. Our horses are looking to be ridden again after an easy winter so if you’re a confident horse rider we’d definitely love to hear from you.

About the Farm:

We have a ranch with approximately 50 beef cows and their calves, several horses, two miniature donkeys, a goat, two sheep, two llamas and numerous cats and dogs.

There is no longer a bus service to Meadow Lake but we are able to pick up from North Battleford, Saskatchewan or Cold Lake, Alberta. The Rider Express and KCTI runs from Saskatoon to Edmonton daily, dropping off in North Battleford or Lloydminster. Since it's a big commitment for us to go to these cities to pick you up, we ask for a minimum commitment of four to six weeks (depending on the time of year).

There's always plenty to do on the farm throughout the... more inside

**COVID 19. . We don’t want anyone taking public transport to get here and we love road trips. Message us and there’s a chance we can come and get you from your current location. We are traveling to BC end of June and we could pick up helpers on the way home **

We are a family of 4 with 2 teens. 13 and 18 year old. (The 18 year old is only here part time )

We have a 5 acre hobby farm with a nearby 160 pasture that isn’t attached to the main property.

We have horses, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and sheep.

Looking for help caring for the animals, riding horses, housework and projects in the yard. Work is pretty easy but you will usually help every day. (Some days are only 2 hours though). You CAN take days off whenever needed though. We have a vehicle you can sometimes borrow if you want to go exploring on your own. We just don’t have a set schedule.

Meals and a private room are provided. There’s a vehicle you may borrow to do ... more inside

**Currently looking for kennel help starting mid june- october. Located right on the edge of the forest reserve, and greenwater lake ( if you enjoy canoeing or fishing). I own a dog kennel consisting of 60 sprint sled dogs. I race all over Canada and Alaska. So if you really want to explore, this is the place for you!
In the summer months the dogs are on vacation since it is too hot to run, so tasks include keeping the dogs well fed, watered, cleaning pens, and keeping the dogs well socialized, happy, healthy and socializing the puppies.
During the fall training begins. The dogs are ran and trained every second day. We appreciate help with cleaning pens, training the dogs, giving the dogs food and water. During winter months we are on the road most of the time, helpers will then also help drive to, and prepare for races.
This is definitely a great experience for anybody who is physically active and adventurous. My kennel is right next to the Saskatchewan provincial forest with h... more inside

This is our first year on our newly purchased farm and we have lots to do - start a garden, plant shelterbelts and berries, raise some chickens and turkeys, set up a biodiesel plant, and renovate our pastures.
Our farm has fields, aspen forest, and a large pond. We think it's pretty awesome.

We are the 4th generation to live on and farm on our land. We moved back to the farm in 2016 and have changed things up a bit to reflect our values. We raise pastured poultry, pastured pork, dairy cows and bees as well as a market garden. Things are always changing and improving on the farm, and this year we installed solar panels!

This summer we have quite a bit of infrastructure projects in the plans. Someone with carpentry skills would be an asset but a willingness to learn goes a long way as well. We are always in need of extra help and would love to find a longer term farm hand as well. Come visit and fall in love with the farm life!

Sorry about the pictures, the animal ones don't want to position themselves the right way!
