The Ranch is located 1 hour S.W. of Calgary, with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
All the wildlife that you can imagine, live in this area.
The chores here are varied.
Feeding and maintenance of the Sheep and their pens. Preparing and maintaining the garden.
I have 2 Horses, that require some attention. Feeding and maintaining their pastures.
The small chicken house requires daily cleaning, feeding and collecting of eggs.
When the hay is ready for harvesting, there are a few longs days of collecting and stacking the bales. It is always a race with the weather, to get the bales into the barn before we get hit with a thunderstorm or rain shower.
Experience with a chainsaw is helpful.
Landscaping experience is also very welcome.
Fixing and improving fences, and corrals is an on going project.
Cleaning & cooking is something we all share, depending on who is busy doing what, and who is better at what.
I have been a Host of Wwoof for the last 6 years, and have f... more inside

My tree nursery is located 120km west of Edmonton and only a 2.5 hour drive away from famous Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains. There are 3 members to our household: Pat, his girlfriend Anita and our kind old friend Froggy.
We need help with stapling, tying and crimping the trees we dug, digging and planting seedlings, caring for the trees in our nursery and you might help with tree planting and landscaping jobs all over Alberta. In spring we sometimes go as far as BC to dig trees. Tree care means pruning, fertilizing, parasite and weed control. Working here also includes renovating and building projects, i.e. fencing, painting or carpentry. There are a beautifully landscaped yard and rock gardens to look after and some fruit picking in summer. During the cold season one of our helpers is usually in charge of the daily horse chores. As we are all living together we share the household work. The tree business is seasonal - weather permitting we might start as early as the ... more inside

We are a small warmblood horse breeding operation located in north central Alberta. We are one hour west of West Edmonton Mall and Edmonton, and 3 hours to Jasper national park. We are non smoking, occasional social drinking. We have two extremely spoiled, small house dogs. And one very large one. We grow our own hay and grain.. We own approx. 14 horses.. some we drive, others we ride, others are broodmares.. Our daughter does equine sports therapy, if this interests you, you may be able to help her. Also she is a student of legerete, if you want to dabble in that she would love a keen helper.

Depending on your horse experience, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ride horses. Lots of times we only have young ones that are just being trained. but you will get alot of horse time..

Extra tasks could be lawn maintenance, tack cleaning, possibly helping harvest, handling horses, depending on experience this could be riding or driving or just helpin... more inside

Due to our next helpers change of plans we are looking for help for August and September! We are located 30 minutes west of Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We have horses and would like to find helpers with horse experience who will help with daily chores and schooling horses.. We are active in combined driving and drive pairs of Welsh ponies, Morgan crosses and Shires. We also ride ( English) and are lucky to have access to miles of forestry trails. We are looking for helpers who like to work and be around horses. We plan a busy, horsey summer and need to get and keep our horses fit. Days here involve general barn work - cleaning, paddock pick up, catching, grooming and treating horses, and some yard work. It`s fun for the person who loves and understands horses. You will also help us with driving our horses. If you are a competent rider then you can fill your spare time by riding as much as you want. Peace and quiet guaranteed. Ideally our helpers will also he... more inside

We are a Warmblood horse breeding and training family farm. One of our goals is to produce top quality horses for international competition in jumping, dressage and three day events. Our main farming activities include feeding, training, breeding and caring for our herd of 100 horses. To view current pictures of our horses life here, go to our Touchstone Farm Facebook page.

We have chosen to be as close to nature as we can and build as naturally as possible. We are therefore a rustic facility. We have a small portable saw mill for sawing our own wood. We are endeavoring to organically produce some of our own food. To this aim, we also have a few goats, chickens, a cow and calves and a garden.

We need help year round with the livestock, training and caring for the horses, pasture management, fencing, landscaping, gardening, meal preparation, housekeeping, building construction and repairs, cutting lumber and firewood, mechanical repairs etc. Winter is a unique experience on... more inside

Welcome to CoCreative Urban Farm!

We are 2 passionate gardeners (and kids) who have developed a small paradise near the Rocky Mountains in a little town called Turner Valley.  The town is within walking distance to our house. We have large veggie gardens, fruit orchard, food forest, bees, rabbits, chickens, rainwater collection, a greenhouse etc. Barb is a Permaculture designer/educator and Hendrik is a builder. We have built our own (eco) house over the last 2 years. We are happy to share our knowledge with keen learners.

Our home is your home while you are travelling. We have both lived in eco-villages in Australia, and both been WWOOFers in many countries. We know how wwoofers want to be treated since we have had good/bad experiences as wwoofers! We will feed you well and teach you what you want to know.

You will be comfortable and integrated into our family life, and at times we also need some space to ourselves ~ we aim to make a balance between socializing with wwoofers... more inside

This is a small happy rambling home near the centre of Edmonton. There is city transit from the Airport to within a couple blocks of our home. There is a ride share program in many parts of Canada.

A couple blocks away, you can enjoy the forested North Saskatchewan River Valley and it's huge system of parks and trails, ranging from waterside to cliff side. This river valley is the largest expanse of urban parkland in Canada. 18,000 acres in size and 48 km in length with 22 ravines. You could spend days walking this forest. There are many Meetup groups that use the valley for recreation, if that appeals to you.

You work four hours each day for the first five days. You have two free days after that (you are responsible for buying and preparing your own food at that time). There is yard work for example: clearing brush, conditioning soil, scraping and painting and other renovation type work. Renovation experience such as tiling, carpentry, plumbing, etc. would be great but not ne... more inside

Looking for animal lovers and responsible helpers!!!

Located approx. 1 hour north of Calgary, set in the rolling hills of Kneehill county in the shadows of the Rockies. The nearest airport is Calgary.

We are looking for helpers to help develop our new (if not rather old 95yo) house, to help work and train our 5 horses, and to experience first hand the Canadian way of life.

Recent Horse experience is a MUST as there will be some (if not a lot of) riding involved,(Not so much in winter as its difficult to ride when everything is icy) and we don`t have the time to train beginner riders. Helmet and boots must be worn when riding.

Training and caring for our horses involves working with young and/or advanced horses trained in Western and/oe English.

Experience in renovations is not required as you will learn to use a whole range of power tools and skills during your stay, but honesty, enthusiasm and motivation are.

Love of animals is a must as we have 6 cats and a dog... more inside
