Hello world traveler!

Do you enjoy being outdoors? Do you like dairy cows and cheese making? Do you enjoy hanging out with little kids? You don't mind gardening?
Then maybe you would have a blast visiting us at Valhalla Farm.

Who we are:
Lilli(30) and Erik (30)and Björn (2 years old)
Caro (30) our friend and farm partner

We live on a farm together with Erik's parents. They run an organic farm with galloway cows and leafcutter bees to produce seed.

Caro and I are milking four dairy cows to produce a large variety of different cheeses. We raise laying hens and meat birds on the pasture, feeder pigs and look after a large farm garden.
Erik is an engineer for the railway and joining our farm activities after work. He is our essential beekeeper.

We really like to take our camper vans to the surrounding lakes, including a canoe or a sub.

We would like to meet you and share our farm life with you.

Hello! Welcome to our Farm!! Our farm sits on a beautiful piece of land with a variety of very sweet animals, we know we are so lucky to have what we have and decided to share our treasures with everyone. Our goal is to make a difference to the earth we live on, the people we interact with and the animals we share this planet with. We have turned our farm into a petting zoo and Airbnb. We have a variety of tasks around the farm from daily animal care to building projects and everything in between, there will always be something that suits your talents! And if you think you have none (talents) don’t worry, we will dig them out if you! We want you to come to our farm as guests wanting to help with our cause of creating a place that helps people reconnect with animals and nature. Our belief is that one small act of kindness is one step closer to creating a happier planet :-) You can also check out our Facebook page at Down To Earth Farms Petting Zoo! Shane:)

This is a farm near Edmonton, Canada.

I am REALLY into RECYCLING and REDUCING and REUSING. If you want to learn about this then you might like it with me. I know ALL about that. And I can teach you because I have 30 years of experience with it. I am, on my farm, recycling all kinds of stuff that mainstream society throws away. I am finding ways to divert things from the landfill. I am finding people to reuse items.

Come help me with my reuse recycle farm idea. It's not just me. See the Rocky Mountains and possibly come for a hike with us. You may possibly take some road trips across Western Canada because sometimes I do road trips. My farm is located JUST outside Edmonton which is a city of over 1 million people. There is ANYTHING you want to do here. Festivals, bars, pubs, nightlife, shopping, cinema, theatre, sports, spectator sports (hockey / football), gymnasiums, ice skating. Edmonton has the biggest urban park of any city in the world I think. There is amazing hiking ... more inside

Looking for animal lovers and responsible helpers!!!

Located approx. 1 hour north of Calgary, set in the rolling hills of Kneehill county in the shadows of the Rockies. The nearest airport is Calgary.

We are looking for helpers to help develop our new (if not rather old 95yo) house, to help work and train our 4 horses, and to experience first hand the Canadian way of life.

Horse experience is an asset as there will be some (if not a lot of) riding involved,(Not so much in winter as its difficult to ride when everything is icy) but we are willing to train beginner riders. Helmet (supplied) and heals/boots must be worn when riding.

Training and caring for our horses involves working with young and/or advanced horses trained in Western and/or English.

Experience in renovations is not required as you will learn to use a whole range of power tools and skills during your stay, but honesty, enthusiasm and motivation are.

Love of animals is a must as we have lots of cats ... more inside

Beautiful horse ranch in Alberta foothills near Calgary. Successful candidate will be an experienced rider so you can help exercise show horses and prospects. Prefer minimum of 6 week stay..prefer longer for right person so horses do not have to change handlers often. Barn and yard help as well..maintenance of facilities and help in house and yard. We will look forward to taking you to the Calgary Stampede, Banff and Lake Louise weather permitting. We eat like ranchers...lots of meat and vegetables, not much sweets. Heart West Haven is located 1 hour S.W. of Calgary, with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
All the wildlife that you can imagine, live in this area.
The current accommodations are a cabin and a camper, that are located within 100 meters of the main Ranch house and the barn. This makes it possible to do a semi isolation for the first two weeks, by having private space and the possibility of doing tasks that allow safe distancing in these uncertain times. It requires extra effort from both sides.
The chores here are varied.
At this time of year, the main jobs are looking after the animals, preparing the garden, making things from the wool from the sheep. So if you enjoy making things with your hands, you will enjoy it here. For guys: Experienced chainsaw and saw maintenance are welcome skills. Basic construction skills are also welcome for small projects.
Preparing and maintaining the garden in the summer months. landscaping skills will be helpful in the springtime.... more inside

Our home is your home while you are travelling. We have both lived in eco-villages in Australia, and both been WWOOFers in many countries. We know how wwoofers want to be treated since we have had good/bad experiences as wwoofers! We will feed you well and teach you what you want to know.

We are located 30 minutes west of Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We have horses and would like to find helpers with horse experience who will help with daily chores and schooling horses.. We are active in combined driving and drive pairs of Welsh ponies, Morgan crosses and Shires. We also ride ( English) and are lucky to have access to miles of forestry trails. We are looking for helpers who like to work and be around horses. Days here involve general barn work - cleaning, paddock pick up, catching, grooming and treating horses, and some yard work. Every now and then there will be other things to do such as fencing and trail building. It`s fun for the person who loves and understands horses. You will also help us with driving our horses. If you are a competent rider then you can fill your spare time by riding as much as you want. Peace and quiet guaranteed. This year our helpers will stay in our fifth wheel holiday trailer so you have complete privacy and keep... more inside

My tree nursery is located 120km west of Edmonton and only a 2.5 hour drive away from famous Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains. There are 3 members to our household: Pat, his girlfriend Anita and our kind old friend Froggy.
We need help with stapling, tying and crimping the trees we dug, digging and planting seedlings, caring for the trees in our nursery and you might help with tree planting and landscaping jobs all over Alberta. In spring we sometimes go as far as BC to dig trees. Tree care means pruning, fertilizing, parasite and weed control. Working here also includes renovating and building projects, i.e. fencing, painting or carpentry. There are a beautifully landscaped yard and rock gardens to look after and some fruit picking in summer. During the colder months one of our helpers is usually in charge of the daily horse chores. As we are all living together we share the household work. The tree business is seasonal - weather permitting we might start as early as th... more inside
