Hello happy travellers!

We live in rural northern alberta. We have 6 children at home with us, ages 4 years to 12 years. We live on a small farand have a garden, horses and 2 cows, a few pigs, cats a dog and a chicken but we are not big farmers. We love young people and hosting people from other countries and the experience of making the world more real to our children.

Our children are accepting, friendly, and mischievous too. We are looking to exchange room and board for about 4 hours of help with the children, housekeeping and various indoor and outdoor chores plus one additional hour in the evening helping with supper and kitchen cleanup. In the spring and summer there are many outdoor tasks.

We are a Christian family and regularly attend church on Sundays. You are welcome to join us if you wish. We have lots of space to roam. We also have a dugout for swimming and kayaks to use in the summer. Snowshoes in the winter. In the winter on clear cold nights you may be luck... more inside

My tree nursery is located 120km west of Edmonton and only a 2.5 hour drive away from famous Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains. There are 3 members to our household: Pat, his girlfriend Anita and our kind old friend Froggy.
We need help with stapling, tying and crimping the trees we dug, digging and planting seedlings, caring for the trees in our nursery and you might help with tree planting and landscaping jobs all over Alberta. In spring we sometimes go as far as BC to dig trees. Tree care means pruning, fertilizing, parasite and weed control. Working here also includes renovating and building projects, i.e. fencing, painting or carpentry. There are a beautifully landscaped yard and rock gardens to look after and some fruit picking in summer. During the cold season one of our helpers is usually in charge of the daily horse chores. As we are all living together we share the household work. The tree business is seasonal - weather permitting we might start as early as the ... more inside

The Ranch is located 1 hour S.W. of Calgary, with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
All the wildlife that you can imagine, live in this area.
The chores here are varied. I need help with
Feeding, and maintenance of the Sheep and their pens.
The garden consists of raised garden boxes, cold frames and some ground beds. Weeding, watering, harvesting and improving the garden is one of the summer chores.
I only have a few Horses, that require some attention. Feeding and maintaining their pastures.
The small chicken house requires daily cleaning, feeding and collecting of eggs.
When the hay is ready for harvesting, there are a few longs days of collecting and stacking the bales. It is always a race with the weather, to get the bales into the barn before we get hit with a thunderstorm or rain shower.
Experience with a chainsaw is helpful.
Landscaping experience is also very welcome.
Fixing and improving fences, and corrals is an on going project.
Cleaning & cooking... more inside

Hello!!

We are leaving on holidays for the first week in May(1st-8th)and require a helper or two to stay at our farm while we are away. We have 3 cats and a big friendly dog. Basically feeding and watering the pets, walking the dog twice per day. Not a whole bunch of work to do, maybe 2 or 3 tasks per day, so you could use this as a holiday or a place to transition between Helpx opportunities. You are welcome to stay longer than the week as we always love to have the extra help and company. Preferences will be given to females and couples as it is only women living in the home.

Our property is situated on the edge of a dense coulee with a beautiful creek running through. There`s plenty of opportunity to explore and hike the area.

We have unlimited Wi-Fi and Netflix and neibours and family nearby if you need anything. Fridge and cupboards will be stocked. Town is only 15min away and it's an hour drive to the mountains where you will find waterfalls and amazing hiking sp... more inside

Hi, I always need help around the farm between April and November, there are always jobs where I need an extra hand to get things done, also it always makes things a little easier. I grow hay in our area which is organically grown, it takes time and lots of help to put up the hay we need each year. There's always a job for someone who is willing to learn how to drive a tractor, although it does help if you have some experience driving them, and some other equipment, I do need help around the yard doing odd jobs. The amount of time we need for help varies, working around the yard are usually short days, but when we are driving tractors they tend to become long days, but you are sitting in an air-conditioned cab listening to a stereo all day, many of the helpers enjoy driving because it isn't physically hard, and they enjoy driving. I've had many girls also operate tractors, and which I must say, do very well, I think they surprise themselves how easy it can be. When it rains, we... more inside

We are looking for a helper for end of July through September.

Live the best of both – peaceful farm and vibrant city! We are looking forward to welcoming one or two people to assist us in the operation of our horse farm located just outside beautiful Calgary, Alberta. Duties would be general horse care including feeding, grooming, exercising along with some basic farm maintenance (repairs, fencing, lawn cutting). We have several young horses just starting their training so there will be lots of fun riding just putting miles on these horses. Some horse knowledge/experience is preferred but the most important thing is a good attitude and must not be afraid of horses.
In addition to the horse work, we would like a helper who is willing to assist with our home business making skin care products and is also willing to help with light housework and cooking.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, eager to learn and willing pitch in to help whenever needed. Someone who is... more inside
