This is a farm near Edmonton, Canada.

I am REALLY into RECYCLING and REDUCING and REUSING. If you want to learn about this then you might like it with me. I know ALL about that. And I can teach you because I have 30 years of experience with it. I am, on my farm, recycling all kinds of stuff that mainstream society throws away. I am finding ways to divert things from the landfill. I am finding people to reuse items.

Come help me with my reuse recycle farm idea. It's not just me. See the Rocky Mountains and possibly come for a hike with us. You may possibly take some road trips across Western Canada because sometimes I do road trips. My farm is located JUST outside Edmonton which is a city of over 1 million people. There is ANYTHING you want to do here. Festivals, bars, pubs, nightlife, shopping, cinema, theatre, sports, spectator sports (hockey / football), gymnasiums, ice skating. Edmonton has the biggest urban park of any city in the world I think. There is amazing hiking ... more inside

My tree nursery is located 120km west of Edmonton and only a 2.5 hour drive away from famous Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains. There are 3 members to our household: Pat, his girlfriend Anita and our kind old friend Froggy.
We need help with stapling, tying and crimping the trees we dug, digging and planting seedlings, caring for the trees in our nursery and you might help with tree planting and landscaping jobs all over Alberta. In spring we sometimes go as far as BC to dig trees. Tree care means pruning, fertilizing, parasite and weed control. Working here also includes renovating and building projects, i.e. fencing, painting or carpentry. There are a beautifully landscaped yard and rock gardens to look after and some fruit picking in summer. During the colder months one of our helpers is usually in charge of the daily horse chores. As we are all living together we share the household work. The tree business is seasonal - weather permitting we might start as early as th... more inside

Hello! Welcome to our Farm!! Our farm sits on a beautiful piece of land with a variety of very sweet animals, we know we are so lucky to have what we have and decided to share our treasures with everyone. Our goal is to make a difference to the earth we live on, the people we interact with and the animals we share this planet with. We have turned our farm into a petting zoo and Airbnb. We have a variety of tasks around the farm from daily animal care to building projects and everything in between, there will always be something that suits your talents! And if you think you have none (talents) donít worry, we will dig them out if you! We want you to come to our farm as guests wanting to help with our cause of creating a place that helps people reconnect with animals and nature. Our belief is that one small act of kindness is one step closer to creating a happier planet :-)

Hi, I always need help around the farm between April and November, there are always jobs where I need an extra hand to get things done, also it always makes things a little easier. I grow hay in our area which is organically grown, it takes time and lots of help to put up the hay we need each year. There's always a job for someone who is willing to learn how to drive a tractor, although it does help if you have some experience driving them, and some other equipment, I do need help around the yard doing odd jobs. The amount of time we need for help varies, working around the yard are usually short days, but when we are driving tractors they tend to become long days, but you are sitting in an air-conditioned cab listening to a stereo all day, many of the helpers enjoy driving because it isn't physically hard, and they enjoy driving. I've had many girls also operate tractors, and which I must say, do very well, I think they surprise themselves how easy it can be. When it rains, we... more inside

Heart West Haven is located 1 hour S.W. of Calgary, with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
All the wildlife that you can imagine, live in this area.
The chores here are varied.
At this time of year, the main jobs are looking after the animals, maintaining and harvesting the garden, making things from the wool from the sheep. So if you enjoy making things with your hands, you will enjoy it here. For guys: Experienced chainsaw and saw maintenance are welcome skills. Basic construction skills are also welcome for small projects.
Preparing and maintaining the garden in the summer months. landscaping skills will be helpful in the springtime. Trapping moles, collecting and splitting firewood, digging up poison weed in the forest, fixing or building fences, things like that.
I have 2 Horses, that require some attention. Feeding and maintaining their pastures.
The small chicken house requires daily cleaning, feeding and collecting of eggs.
When the hay is ready for ha... more inside

We are a very diversified agricultural based operation. We are looking for people who are interested in staying for an extended period of time, at least two months. It is good fun and most of our time is spent outdoors putting miles on saddle horses and driving teams in the winter. If you are interested you must be willing to learn how we do things so the horses handle the way our customers want them to. You will also have a chance to learn how to weld, cut metal and do woodwork as we build sleighs and wagons on days that the weather is to bad to drive teams or ride.. We train horses from miniatures to large draft horses. We are looking forward to hearing from young people who would like to experience our lifestyle as we have had very good experiences with people from other countries.
We supply you with a place to live. We supply all of your meals. A job here can give you a chance to live as we do and get to know a different way of life.

It would be appreciated if you speak som... more inside

**not accepting volunteers until May 2021**
Hello!

We live in a lodge situated half an hour north of Lake Louise. The lodge rests amidst some of the most dramatic scenery in the Canadian Rockies.

We are currently closed for the 2020 season but are renovating for the 2021 season and with that we are looking for volunteers to help us with these tasks! We are primarily looking for people who have some sort of carpentry experience but if you feel you can add something else to our team or are eager to learn, feel free to message.

You would be helping 4 hours a day, 6 days a week in exchange for a bed with an AMAZING view on the top story of the lodge and all food included (including hot chocolate!). We do a grocery list every week so if you want something really badly we can get it! Some nights you can even make dinner as part of your hours and share with us something from your part of the world.

We are looking for volunteers (couple or single) who want to stay for at least... more inside
