My husband and I and our 5 children ranging from ages 5-17 operate a small farm with 50 cows 9 horses, cats, dogs, chickens and turkeys in the foothills of the rocky mountains. During the fall and winter we operate an outfitting business (check out our website). We are working on growing a large enough garden to sell a quantity of vegetables locally, as well as put away for our family. We milk our own cow and and enjoy our free range chickens that often surprise us with a flock of chicks. We enjoy getting out for a horseback ride as often as possible.
July is haying season and we put up 200 acres of hay.
We have a second house on our property that is used as our lodge during hunting season so we have plenty of space to accommodate comfortably. Our Wifi is free and decently fast. Cellular service is good here with most carriers.
We enjoy eating our locally harvested elk, moose and deer as well as our home grown pork and turkey. We can cater to allergies and food sensitivit... more inside

Hello! Welcome to our Farm!! Our farm sits on a beautiful piece of land with a variety of very sweet animals, we know we are so lucky to have what we have and decided to share our treasures with everyone. Our goal is to make a difference to the earth we live on, the people we interact with and the animals we share this planet with. We have turned our farm into a petting zoo and Airbnb. We have a variety of tasks around the farm from daily animal care to building projects and everything in between, there will always be something that suits your talents! And if you think you have none (talents) donít worry, we will dig them out if you! We want you to come to our farm as guests wanting to help with our cause of creating a place that helps people reconnect with animals and nature. Our belief is that one small act of kindness is one step closer to creating a happier planet :-) You can also check out our Facebook page at Down To Earth Farms Petting Zoo! Shane:)

The Ranch is located 1 hour S.W. of Calgary, with a terrific view of the Rocky Mountains.
All the wildlife that you can imagine, live in this area.
The chores here are varied.
At this time of year, the main jobs are looking after the animals, snow removal and making things from the wool from the sheep. So if you enjoy making things with your hands, you will enjoy it here. For guys: Experienced chainsaw and saw maintenance are welcome skills. Basic construction skills are also welcome for small projects.
Preparing and maintaining the garden in the summer months. landscaping skills will be helpful in the springtime.
I have 2 Horses, that require some attention. Feeding and maintaining their pastures.

We have room for one helper at a time for the winter months.

We are a small warmblood horse breeding operation located in north central Alberta. We are one hour west of West Edmonton Mall and Edmonton, and 3 hours to Jasper national park. We are non smoking, occasional social drinking. We have two extremely spoiled, small house dogs. And one very large one. We grow our own hay and grain.. We own approx. 14 horses.. some we drive, others we ride, others are broodmares.. Our daughter does equine sports therapy, if this interests you, you may be able to help her. Also she is a student of legerete, if you want to dabble in that she would love a keen helper.

Depending on your horse experience, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ride horses. Lots of times we only have young ones that are just being trained. but you will get alot of horse time..

Extra tasks could be lawn maintenance, tack cleaning, possibly helping harvest, handling horses, depend... more inside

We are a Warmblood horse breeding and training family farm. One of our goals is to produce top quality horses for international competition in jumping, dressage and three day events. Our main farming activities include feeding, training, breeding and caring for our herd of 100 horses. To view current pictures of our horses life here, go to our Touchstone Farm Facebook page.

We have chosen to be as close to nature as we can and build as naturally as possible. We are therefore a rustic facility. We have a small portable saw mill for sawing our own wood. We are endeavoring to organically produce some of our own food. To this aim, we also have a few goats, chickens, a cow and calves and a garden.

We need help year round with the livestock, training and caring for the horses, pasture management, fencing, landscaping, gardening, meal preparation, housekeeping, building construction and repairs, cutting lumber and firewood, mechanical repairs etc. Winter is a unique experience on... more inside

We are a very diversified agricultural based operation. We are looking for people who are interested in staying for an extended period of time, at least two months. It is good fun and most of our time is spent outdoors putting miles on teams. If you are interested you must be willing to learn how we do things so the horses handle the way our customers want them to. You will also have a chance to learn how to weld, cut metal and do woodwork as we build sleighs and wagons on days that the weather is to bad to drive teams or ride.. We train horses from miniatures to large draft horses. We are looking forward to hearing from young people who would like to experience our lifestyle as we have had very good experiences with people from other countries.
We supply you with a place to live. We supply all of your meals. A job here can give you a chance to live as we do and get to know a different way of life.

It would be appreciated if you speak some english.

Allan and Chris

We are looking for one or two helpers beginning in February 2020. We are looking for a helper or 2 to stay a minimum of 3 weeks in order to have enough time to train someone and have them become accustomed to the horse work and be able to work on their own. A valid drivers license is required as you will be required to drive to pick up horse feed, groceries, deliver packages, etc. We will supply a vehicle.
Live the best of both Ė peaceful farm and vibrant city! We are looking forward to welcoming one or two people to assist us in the operation of our horse farm located just outside beautiful Calgary, Alberta. Duties would be general horse care including feeding, grooming, exercising along with some basic farm maintenance (example: snow shovelling or lawn cutting, simple repairs). Some horse knowledge/experience is preferred but the most important thing is a good attitude and must not be afraid of horses.

Looking for animal lovers and responsible helpers!!!

Located approx. 1 hour north of Calgary, set in the rolling hills of Kneehill county in the shadows of the Rockies. The nearest airport is Calgary.

We are looking for helpers to help develop our new (if not rather old 95yo) house, to help work and train our 4 horses, and to experience first hand the Canadian way of life.

Recent Horse experience is a MUST as there will be some (if not a lot of) riding involved,(Not so much in winter as its difficult to ride when everything is icy) and we don`t have the time to train beginner riders. Helmet and boots must be worn when riding.

Training and caring for our horses involves working with young and/or advanced horses trained in Western and/or English.

Experience in renovations is not required as you will learn to use a whole range of power tools and skills during your stay, but honesty, enthusiasm and motivation are.

Love of animals is a must as we have 6 cats and a dog.... more inside
