We're away for the winter so we can't take HelpXers now, but we're happy to hear from you if you'd like to come during the second half of March or later.

We're in a small community surrounded by wilderness: Argenta is a friendly place of 120 people — Quakers, hippies and just folks — on the northern tip of Kootenay Lake, at one end of the Earl Grey Trail. (You can walk here in four days from Invermere, or come the more usual way by road!)

There's always farm work (gardening, animals, preserving food and lots more) and lots of projects (building, fencing, wilderness trail building...). And, depending on the season, there's hiking, fishing, canoeing, sailing, skiing, skating and skinny-dipping (yup, l... more inside

We are a full-time working, friendly, down-to-earth couple with a dog living on a rural acreage in the wonderfully relaxed East Kootenay region located in the southeast corner of beautiful British Columbia.

Originally from The Netherlands, we've spent the last five and a half years enjoying the good things in life surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape, mountain culture, artistic lifestyles, and outdoor adventure.

Given the opportunity to purchase 20 acres of raw land in the Rocky Mountain Trench 20 minutes East of Kimberley and 20 minutes North of Cranbrook, we took a leap of faith knowing that good things come from hard work – and knowing that work can also be enjoyed.

The realization that we need help from like-minded folks to establish a small hobby farm made us decide to start welcoming helpxers to join us to live, work, learn and play in the mountain playground that is our backyard.

Among the many things our area has to offer are: wildlife viewing, endless hi... more inside

We are looking for one or two friendly helpers to come and help with firewood and/or gardening, light construction and spending time with the boys. We have many ongoing projects and will appreciate support in different areas.
We are a family of 4: Annie & Chris, with 2 energetic boys 11 and 13 years old, 1 dogs, 2 cats and chickens. Our German and Quebec roots found new soil here in the heart of the Slocan valley a few years ago....

The garden is a very important part of our life and is getting bigger every year. We are very interested in Permaculture and self-sustainability. We are looking for motivated help for the preparation of the soil: primarily and foremost lots of mowing, digging and planting. Many other tasks available though!

We offer a beautiful environment to spend some time in the Kootenays, good healthy food and a private space. We live on a beautiful open piece of land in midst of the Slocan valley, 3km north of the village of Winlaw. The valley is an attracti... more inside
