We are a community of inspired, clear minded individuals creating a relational-centered, sustainable lifestyle that we have found naturally catalyzes the evolution of human consciousness. We are enabling the old paradigm to fade away by not fighting against life as it is.

Our off-grid organic farm is located on a pristine 23-acre property, 15 minutes West of Nelson, in the West Kootenays, British Columbia. We operate out of an 1800 sq. ft, geo-solar Earthship. We have organic community gardens and orchard featuring 30-inch insulated raised beds.

Our Farm requires a minimum stay of one month so people are best able to fully integrate into the community lifestyle. Staying three months is preferred. Ask us about longer stays.

Hey there!

We are a young couple taking over a large acreage and garden in a beautiful small town in the Cariboo-Chilcotin, British Columbia. I (Ciel) am a Therapist and Artist, and my partner Brent is a teacher at the local elementary school. We have one son, Arrow, who is 2.5 and quite possibly the happiest human on the planet.

I grew up just down the road from this property and have known the original owners--Sue + Jurgen--all my life. Sue and Jurgen have built a third home on the property (there is a large home and a smaller one already) so that they can remain here, though they are both getting older and don't want to manage the property alone anymore, so we are buying them out.

The property is largely in its natural state--including a beautiful creek that runs through the middle of it-- but the gardens have been well-developed. 'Moosehouse' was the 'most beautiful garden in Canada' back in the 90's (according to a national magazine) and has been managed organically... more inside

We are looking for one or two friendly helpers to come and help on the property, garden, construction and spending time with the boys. We have many ongoing projects and will appreciate support in different areas.
We are a family of 4: Annie & Chris, with 2 energetic boys 11 and 13 years old, 1 dogs, 2 cats and chickens. Our German and Quebec roots found new soil here in the heart of the Slocan valley a few years ago....

The garden is a very important part of our life and is getting bigger every year. We are very interested in Permaculture and self-sustainability. We are looking for motivated help for the preparation of the soil: primarily and foremost lots of mowing, digging and planting. Many other tasks available though!

We offer a beautiful environment to spend some time in the Kootenays, good healthy food and a private space. We live on a beautiful open piece of land in midst of the Slocan valley, 3km north of the village of Winlaw. The valley is an attractive place to v... more inside

Me and my husband run a B&B in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, in Golden, BC, Canada. We have a nearly 2 year old son who is very lively and funny.

Right now we also have 4 ducks, 3 rabbits, 3 dogs and 2 cats living with us.

We are looking for someone (female or couples) who can help us a little bit in everything, is lively and outgoing.
The work in the B&B will be paid for and the HelpXchange is happening in the afternoon. You will have 2 days off from work as well as from HelpX of course. I always try to be as flexible as possible with work schedule to meet your travel requirements.

We are very outgoing people, love to socialize and are multicultural.

Our place is located a little bit outside of Golden and hence a car is necessary to stay with us.

We have very high expectations in terms of hospitality, cleanliness and work attitude in the B&B as well as in our house. Ideally you are outgoing, love to small talk with the guests, self driven, enthusiastic, li... more inside

If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. We would welcome any help and would love people to share their organic knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. Throughout the year we have a wide variety of tasks to do.
In March and April the cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects. In May we are preparing the fields for planting; there is ploughing, discing, seeding, picking rocks and setting up the irrigation system. We also plant the large vegetable garden in May and June. For the rest of the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes twice daily, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species, and on checking the cattle, harvesting garlic, sometimes traveling to the Farmer`s Market on saturdays
There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don`t be afraid to join us.

We are a gay male couple living on an almost 90 acre, off-grid land co-operative.
We have cellular / mobile service, and intermittent internet.
We produce our own power using a micro-hydro system which is currently generating 8 KW and is shared by us and the five other households on the land.
This land co-operative works together and plays together but is not a commune. We cultivate lifestyles of low-impact modern living in intentional community while living independently. We aim toward a lifestyle of voluntary simplicity.

We have a large community garden which is not certified organic, but we follow organic gardening principles and beliefs.

We focus on organic growing methods such as hugelculture and permaculture although we are always interested in learning about new ways to grow. We strive toward total food self-sufficiency, however - we are still a long way from that being a reality but close enough to see that it's nearly within our grasp!

We have two bee h... more inside
