Hello There!

We are Steven and Andrea, a couple in our 30's, who relocated to Quesnel last year. Our family consists of 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 pot belly pet pigs and 5 horses!

We are funny (others have said so:) outgoing and busy people. We are looking for helpers to lend a hand around the new homestead. Of course with developing a new property come an endless amount of projects. We are located 15 minutes outside of Quesnel on a quiet dead end road. A little seasonal creek runs through the property. There is many hiking trails easily accessible from the house.

Both Steven and I work full-time, he is a Truck Driver and I work in government. I am fluent in German and Steven can understand a lot, but is shy about speaking it. We both appreciate good food, homecooked meals and are more then happy to share the kitchen. Regular meals, that include meat and vegetables are served. If you are lactose free or egg free we can accommodate you.

We are looking for Helpers that are able ... more inside

We would welcome any help and would love people to share their organic knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. Throughout the year we have a wide variety of tasks to do.
In March and April the cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects. In May we are preparing the fields for planting; there is ploughing, discing, seeding, picking rocks and setting up the irrigation system. We also plant the large vegetable garden in May and June. For the rest of the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes twice daily, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species,and on checking the cattle, harvesting garlic, sometimes traveling to the Farmer`s Market on saturdays

§ § updated April 2019 § §

Hello! We are looking forward to hosting some enthusiastic, helpful Helpers this year!

We moved from Nanaimo, BC (on Vancouver Island) to Cranbrook, BC (in the East Kootenays) summer of 2016. We really 'downsized': our house in Cranbrook is much smaller than our Nanaimo house was, but it had an unfinished basement when we bought it. We have now completed the basement, with a bedroom, bathroom, family room, workshop and open areas. We have also almost completely redone half of the main floor - mostly working on 'finishing'. We also have some projects to do outside.

We are now looking for help with lots of projects:

* CONSTRUCTION: finishing, painting, etc.
* yard/garden work
* help with other construction projects around the house/yard
* organizing
* and always - help with meals (prep/cleanup), general housework is very much appreciated

We are mostly looking for females, but might consider the 'right' couple. Would love to have someone w... more inside
