We will need help starting mid April.

If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. We would welcome any help and would love people to share their organic knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. Throughout the year we have a wide variety of tasks to do.
In March and April the cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects.
In May we are preparing the fields for planting; there is ploughing, discing, seeding, picking rocks and setting up the irrigation system. We also plant the large vegetable garden in May and June. For the rest of the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes twice daily, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species, and on checking the cattle, harvesting garlic, sometimes traveling to the Farmer`s Market on saturdays
There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don... more inside

Great location to Be in the Kooteney‘s!
I’m looking for a homestay right now .
My home is located 45 minutes from Nelson, and a short drive to Whitewater skiing.

I am a senior woman willing to share my home in exchange for support such as light cleaning, shopping and cooking. I also need somebody to walk my dog once or twice a day.

This would suit an outdoor type person who wants to know more about Canadian culture, who would like lots of time off during the day to explore the hiking trails, free cross country skiing, local restaurants, etc. Winlaw is home to many musicians, artists and interesting people.

My house is comfortable with internet, tv., laundry facilities and is a perfect place for a traveller to stop for a week up to a month. You would have your own bedroom and bathroom, and share the rest of the house.

KERTERRE, Hempcrete formation host here on the farm, I need volunteers to help for the preparation of the event, during the formation and probably after to finish the building. And the life must go on...
I am mom with 4 daughters who try to make a living from the farm. We move here couple years ago and there is a lot to do. This year, I am focusing on producing vegetables for the market, and establishing medicinal plants for futur use. I am really inspired by the permaculture philosophy and being more as I can green. Canning, harvesting, making cheese from our goat milk, caring for the animals; goats, yaks and chickens are all things that have to be done. The work is sometime hard and sometime easier, I try to alternate. Be aware that you will work around 6 hours a day/5 days a week. On the days off you can do special trip with us or just relax here. No wifi, but access to internet. There is a camper available to sleep. If you want experiment living with a French-Canadian fa... more inside

***Now looking for farm helpers for June through to September***

We live on a small permaculture farm on the edge of town in Rossland, BC. The farm includes a big garden and animals (goats, chickens, & two cats) and a whole bunch of farm development projects. We’re going into our fifth season on a new property and have spent the last four years doing earthworks, building farm infrastructure, and planting trees & shrubs.

Besides daily chores, current projects include seeding, fencing, earthworks, planting trees & shrubs, and various building projects...

Our three young kids are always up for adventure including exploring the farm, bike rides, trips to the skatepark or lake, building things, or jumping on the trampoline.

We welcome friendly & responsible volunteers who enjoy a bit of hard work and share our love for the outdoors. It works best for us when farm volunteers stay at least 5 days to get to know the place. Our usual trade is 4 hours of work each day for a place ... more inside

We are a couple living on an almost 90 acre, off-grid land co-operative.
We have cellular / mobile service, and intermittent internet.
We produce our own power using a micro-hydro system which is currently generating 8 KW and is shared by us and the five other households on the land.
This land co-operative works together and plays together but is not a commune. We cultivate lifestyles of low-impact modern living in intentional community while living independently. We aim toward a lifestyle of voluntary simplicity.

We have a large community garden which is not certified organic, but we follow organic gardening principles and beliefs.

We focus on organic growing methods such as hugelculture and permaculture although we are always interested in learning about new ways to grow. We strive toward total food self-sufficiency, however - we are still a long way from that being a reality but close enough to see that it's nearly within our grasp!

We have bee hives on the l... more inside
