Beautifull Haida Gwaii, Space available April to Oct 1. We often have many friends and relatives visiting from mid May to end of September, so choices of accommodation change depending on # of visitors.

We're looking for physically strong Helpers who enjoy landscaping and other outdoor work on our 1/2 acre property. This could include weeding, tidying, painting, cleaning.

We live on the Saanich Peninsula, about one hour (by bus) from downtown Victoria.

The peninsula has lots of outdoor recreation -swimming and kayaking at nearby beaches, cycling and and hiking. John Dean Provincial Park with its beautiful, old growth forest is just up the road from our house.

The waterfront town of Sidney is a ten-minute drive away and Victoria`s most famous attraction - Butchart Gardens - is just 20 minutes away.

There`s a public recreation centre (Panorama Recreation) with indoor and outdoor tennis courts, indoor swimming pool and large weight room/gym a short walk from our house.

Our place lies between the coast of Georgia Strait and Mt.Arrowsmith further to the west, 12 km north of Qualicum Beach. The 5.5 acres is home to 2 miniature donkeys, 2 Icelandic sheep, 2 pygmy goats, our two stock guardian dogs, few chickens and 2 cats. We do not have any more alpacas and llamas which were mentioned in some of helpers' reviews.
We are developing an orchard, organic garden and we are also constantly improving pastures and landscape, establishing wildflower meadow. There is always some light construction of farm buildings or house renovation available to handy individuals.
The work is varied and depends on the weather. Stay of 4 weeks minimum is preferred. Help is required approximately 25 hours in 5 or 6 days week. There is no problem to arrange 2 or 3 extra days off to visit Island's attractions. Small family Run Ranch in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of SE BC We have a bit of everything, a large variety of livestock and a small garden.
