I am mom with 4 daughters who try to make a living from the farm. We move here couple years ago and there is a lot to do. This year, I am focusing on producing vegetables for the market, and establishing medicinal plants for futur use. Depending on the budget, some construction will have to be done. The construction of a root-cellar, some fondation for a new ecologic building and the maintenance of the farm building are projet for this coming year. I am really inspired by the permaculture philosophy and being more as I can green. Others than those project, there is some canning, harvesting, making cheese from our goat milk, caring for the animals; goats, yaks and chickens. The work is sometime hard and sometime easier, I try to alternate. Be aware that you will work around 6 hours a day/5 days a week. On the days off you can do special trip with us or just relax here. No wifi, but access to internet. There is a camper available to sleep. If you want experiment living with a ... more inside

Hello and welcome to all! My name is MaryLou, I live in a beautiful city called Kelowna,a year round tourist destination, just about 4 hours from Vancouver and one hour from Silver Star & Big White ski resorts with Mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer. Kelowna is located in a beautiful valley, I live just a few minutes walk from the gorgeous Okanagan lake and the Mission Creek Greenway. I am very active in the community, helping refugees. If you'd like, I can take you and show you around. I have travelled a lot around the world: India, Europe, Australia, Guatemala and more..!
I would very much appreciate help with some basic house chores, such as cooking, cleaning , light gardening and possibly some snow shovelling in the winter time. Work schedule is flexible and we can arrange a schedule that will work for the both of us. Usually 3-4 hours a day, 5 days a week, so you can have the time to explore and enjoy winter activities. Our ranch is located in one of the most beautiful countrysides in the interior of BC. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges, lakes and rivers, we consider ourselves and our animals to be spoiled rotten. Our 13 acre farm is located 5 minutes from the town center, 5 minutes from the beautiful Clearwater River, and 10 minutes away from Dutch Lake (perfect sandy beach for swimming). Canoeing, kayaking or hiking in the world renowned Wells Gray Park is a great way to spend days off.
Our ranch has horses, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks & turkeys, and 3 working dogs.
Looking for a person to help with our farm chores as well we are currently building a new barn/shop and could use help with the finishing.
In the summer we grow our own garden as we believe in growing our own food or shopping locally.
Check out our Facebook page! (Spoiled Rotten Ranch)

Hi helpers,

We are a, young at heart, retired couple who have moved to Quadra Island and are in the process of creating a serene oasis on our 3 acre property. We would like to invite motivated, engaging, happy helpers to give us a hand with all manner of manual labour.i.e. preparing the land for a veggie garden and improving what is here already.
If you have proven chainsaw operation/sharpening skills, financial consideration could be negotiated.

Being "morning" people, we prefer helpers who greet the day with good humor and positive energy.

We request 5 hours per day, 5 days a week in the mornings then have a big lunch together, leaving afternoons free for exploring our trails, lakes, beaches, climbing rocks and quaint village. We provide food for breakfast and supper and it's casual so you can eat when you want, (or with us, if you eat early)
We also have kayaks and bicycles you are welcome to use. Or, if you wish to stay on the property, hang out on the dock, and wa... more inside

We're away for the winter so we can't take HelpXers now, but we're happy to hear from you if you'd like to come during the second half of March or later.

We - two men, and sometimes our 27-year-old son Etienne, and sometimes an old HelpXer or two who are still coming back) -- live in a beautiful old log house on a traditional, self-sufficient, Kootenay homestead. We've generally got chickens, sheep, ducks, gardens, fruit trees. We're in a small community surrounded by wilderness: Argenta is a friendly place of 120 people — Quakers, hippies and just folks — on the northern tip of Kootenay Lake, at one end of the Earl Grey Trail. (You can walk here in four days from Invermere, or come the more usual way by road!)

There's always farm work (gardening, animals, preserving food and lots more) and lots of projects (building, fencing, wilderness trail building...). And, depending on the season, there's hiking, fishing, canoeing, sailing, skiing, skating and skinny-dipping (yup, l... more inside

Located 50 km from town in a valley that runs north to south. Private accommodations are available, prefer a couple because of the distance to town but will take singles. Food supplied. If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. We start calving in March through till Mid April. For the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes, and cattle around. Round up beginning for weaning in November. There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don't be afraid to join us. Would like it if you came for a month but short stays are welcomed. We welcome any help and would like people to share their knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm. We start up in March for calving and run through to December.

In our radical life of togetherness we are being healed of the separation that is so prevalent in today’s society. Come spend some time with us on our organic farm in the lee of Mount Washington, whether it be gardening, preparing meals, caring for animals, working in our Café in Courtenay, singing, dancing, sharing meals, doing construction, processing milk into yogurt and cheese, or sharing your heart among friends (just to name a few!).
