Sept 18 2020

Currently I am not in the need of any helpers, thank you.

Thanks for all the responses to my Helpx profile. I really do enjoy meeting people from all around the world and it is great to get some help around my property

I am always in need of someone with handyman or carpenter skills to help with projects around my yard. I need a fence built as well as some of the handyman jobs that require being able to use power tools and some basic woodworking skills. If you are a couple and only one of you have the kind of skills I have mentioned that is Ok I do have other work such as weeding and cleaning so it could work.

CONTACT

Please feel free to send me a message if you feel you have the skills that I am looking for and are interested in coming to stay with us. I can take one person or a couple.

THE WORK

The work requirement for room only is 3 hrs per day per person, or 15 hrs per week, or with food 4 hrs per day per person or 20 hours a week. With food w... more inside

Welcome, bienvenue, wilkommen!
COVID update: You will have your own apartment in my house... let's keep safe and careful.

Rossland is a cool mountain town in south-central BC. We love to ski, hike, mountain bike and kayak.
I have a B&B and Guest House (few visitors this year). 4 minutes walk from the town centre, beside a creek. Large gardens and many fruit trees.

You will see: black bears, raccoons, wildlife, mountain views, friendly people and 3 nice cats.

You get: WiFi, a private apartment, guitar and bikes.

You eat: good food that I buy and YOU cook for yourself. I will cook sometimes when we share meals. We often enjoy a drink together after work.

You help:~ 25 hours per week, mostly gardening, plus building a shed, an artistic fence and a retaining wall, painting, pruning, fall cleanup, winterising, and projects to fit your skills. This year I am working to promote the artist Mary Filer. www.maryfiler.ca

You can learn: to improve your English, prune tree... more inside

Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River is a beautiful place to experience FALL and Vancouver Island`s great outdoors!!! Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, douglas firs, maples and alder trees. You can often see deer, racoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the riverís pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighbourhood is the access point to many scenic nature walking and biking trails. The 1st three photos are at our home and the others are nearby nearby trails and local vistas.

If you have a specific trade or skill to exchange we can find you a suitable project. Otherw... more inside
