This month we finished building a small cabin from re-cycle / salvaged materials. Summer has arrived and work includes chopping wood and sorting equipment and repairs. Chickens and a 18 month old guardian dog are on site.
We are interested in hosting people from around the world to share ideas and work collectively towards a resilient approach for our planet.
We are just starting phase 1 of our permaculture gardens /farm in a rural valley here 15 minute drive east of Hope. We are a family of four and are so excited to construct our alternative house in the next 18 months as part of our 5 year plan. We are off grid and currently in the process of selectively removing trees to make room for goats /chicken pens, greenhouse, ponds, outdoor cooking area, powerhouse and acre of raised gardens.

We're looking for one person or a couple to help us in October. You will be doing general yard and garden work, housecleaning, painting, and minor house repairs.

In exchange for room and board, you'll work 5 hours per day and have 2 days off a week.

You will have your own bedroom and share a bathroom.

We are on a bus route in West Vancouver, 35 minutes to downtown Vancouver. We enjoy beautiful views of Lion's Gate Bridge and the city of Vancouver. There's lots of hiking and walks close-by.

Before we accept helpers, we always ask for a couple of character references. We would like to speak to a previous host or work reference from a prior job. It doesn't matter where they are in the world as we have a very good phone plan!

We look forward to hearing from you.

We need another person or 2. We need another person to help with all the different baby birds & with the incubators, & also help in the house & garden.
We can always use carpenters! We sometimes offer pay for extra hours, especially if we only have 1 or 2 people (& you are an efficient helper), but for qualified carpenters, plumbers or mechanics, we also pay some extra for the basic hours for these trades. We also can often take a last minute person if you need a place quick!

*** PLEASE READ OUR AD CAREFULLY, AS WE DON`T WANT YOU TO BE UNHAPPY HERE AS IT MAKES US UNHAPPY AS WELL. We have had 1 negative experience on this site with someone that greatly exaggerated, but have wonderful experiences with most helpers & have made (& sometimes visited) many new friends! Only people that ignore what we ask for in our ad are unhappy, as it is frustrating for us & then for them. We know what works for us as we have had many people here & take several at a time. We host with ... more inside
