From June 2019 only

Hi,

We are a small family living in West Vancouver. Our daughter is 12 months old.
If you'd like to visit Vancouver and around, you can stay in our home in exchange of small works as gardening, cleaning... about 1 or 2 hours a day.
We won't provide the food but you'll have a room for you with a queen size bed. This is more to socialize and give you the chance to discover this fabulous city without staying in a expensive backpack hostel.

We have a lovely oceanview from the leaving room and a backyard with a veggie garden. There is unlimited wifi. You are 20 min away from downtown by bus. And we are surrounded with nature, we'll be happy to show you around or give you advices.

See you soon !

We are looking for help now through Spring & Summer. We have just under two acres of botanical garden on a salmon spawning creek on a quiet country street in Langley, B.C. We are just one hour by car from Vancouver. There are two small greenhouses, lots of ornamental perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables, herb garden, fruit trees and loads of flowers. We have a pond with a fountain and there are close to 70 species of birds that visit us through the year. We have a varied diet and can cater to most tastes. The duties would consist of general gardening and landscaping. Help in the kitchen is always needed & appreciated. There is no smoking allowed. We could use one or two people at a time that would share a bedroom with two single beds. We accept people year round. Volunteering hours expected: 5 or 6 hours 5 days. LGBTQ Friendly

Hello! We are restaurant owners who would love some babysitting help for our two children, ages 6 and 10, usually from 4pm until approximately 10 or 11pm, 4/5 days a week. Sometimes we require a sitter during the day as well (per occasion) We have a medium sized dog who loves all dogs, people and walks. We live in beautiful Squamish, close to trails along two rivers where the eagles gather, walking distance to all amenities. Whistler mountain is a 40 minute drive north for anyone who loves skiing and downtown Vancouver is one hour to the south. Our helper would have our son`s room, so can be private. We are currently seeking helpers for the middle to end of May.

Our 3 bedroom home is 20 Kilometres North of Victoria B.C. and situated off the main highway and on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula. We are close to Sidney B.C. (2K). We built our home ourselves in 1993. We have a big woodworking shop on our property. I am a carpenter/woodworker and Jeanette is a teacher - we are both now retired.

Lots of general laboring, gardening, landscaping, organizing, re-roofing and carpentry work to do here. Four hours of work is expected for 5 days a week. We like to be finished work by 1:15 and we will always work together with our guests. Time would actually be 4.5 hours, with a 30 minute coffee break mid morning. Meal preparation and clean-up are both shared. Kitchen access and food always available.

Our heated 25 foot Travel Trailer (Caravan in photo) is in driveway. This is provided for guests for sleeping and privacy. It has a very comfortable double bed forward. Other sleeping area also. T.V., WiFi and power are in trailer. There is a 3 piece... more inside

More last minute helpers needed! Some pay is possible especially for a person with carpentry or plumbing experience.

*** PLEASE READ OUR AD CAREFULLY, AS WE DON`T WANT YOU TO BE UNHAPPY HERE AS IT MAKES US UNHAPPY AS WELL. The only people unhappy here are ones that ignore our requirements for helpers as they wanted to come here. We've had 2 poor experiences (one a smoker & another that talked so much she caused accidents & interrupted others work as well) Keep in mind, most helpers don't have ANY references, so we have to rely on your word that you fit our requirements.
Life is too short for anyone to be stressed out!

We raise a lot of different animals (Horses, Cows, Goats, Pigs, Peacocks, Red GoldenPheasants, Guinea Fowl, Chickens, Mandarin Ducks, plus 3 very friendly Maremma Livestock Guardian dogs that keep the predators away (1 is a puppy-in-training). In the house we have 2 parrots and 2 friendly cats! We also have a good-sized garden, some fruit trees, berries a... more inside

We have an beautiful small farm in the Birken valley, near Pemberton surrounded by mountains, rivers ,and lakes. We farm garlic, flowers, herbs, berries, fruit trees, chickens and of course some veggies too. We have a cute, rustic, clean little cabin on the property with it's own bathhouse . Wonderful fresh local meals... We are only 45mins north of Whistler (3hrs from Vancouver). There is great hiking in the close area. Your own transportation is helpful but not necessary as there is no public transportation.
Odd jobs around the farm include small construction projects, planting, weeding, picking fruit, mulching, feeding chickens, helping with the farmer's markets, etc ... Whatever your skills and interests are we can find a project for you. One - three week stays, all meals included, four-five hours of work a day expected, usually with afternoons free for your leisure. Couples welcome.

This is a homestay from mid-June (Monday June 17th) to end of June or mid-July - for 2 weeks to a month. The homestay requires care for our twins and light housekeeping (folding laundry, light cleaning) while they are napping (2 hours a day)in exchange for board and lodging in a beautiful west-coast contemporary home with separate bedroom. You will have the weekends and from 4.30pm in weekdays to explore this exquisite area. We'd love a French guest as our children will go to a French Immersion School but this is not essential.

The twin toddlers are 3 years old and fun to be with. The area we live in is just outside the city of Vancouver in stunning natural beauty. You will have both the city and natural life close at hand with trails, mountain biking, skiing and the beach on your doorstep. Travel in the local area, skiing, hiking, fitness, as well as being part of a loving and adventurous family are all part of the package. We see this as a cultural exchange - and have l... more inside

My location is a 5 minute walk from downtown Duncan in the heart of the Cowichan Valley with various natural and cultural attractions, including many hiking trails and summertime swimming locations by the Cowichan River, lakes and ocean, all within a short bike ride away. I have a three bedroom house with 2 bedrooms available; 1 bedroom with a double futon and a studio which can easily be converted into a bedroom for a second person. I am semi-retired with a small Jin Shin Do acupressure practice. I'm a good cook and can offer a variety of menu items. I am omnivorous. The first picture of me in the garden was taken 10 years ago when I was first establishing the garden. The second picture is of me under my apple tree 2 years ago (I'm bald under that cap) I've included a picture of my favourite swimming spots on the Cowichan River as well. I need help preparing the organic garden for Spring planting along with various yard related chores. In the summertime I often host musicians wh... more inside
