We are a family of 5 with 3 young kids ages 6, 4 & 1 looking for help in our Micro-Vineyard and garden. We live on a 1/2 acre property across the street from the beach.
Help we are looking for includes anything from picking grapes, spraying vines (with a backpack sprayer, all organic sprays), cleaning buckets, crushing grapes, racking juice in tanks, pruning vines, rototilling, general vineyard labour. Also, weeding in the garden, planting, building simple farm structures such as gardening plots.
Potentially helping with cooking some dinners, cleaning, and playing with the kids.
We have a bedroom downstairs where you will have your own privacy and access to your own bathroom. The bathroom is only used by us when we are in the winery area but mostly it will be your own space.
We are thinking for breakfast and lunch you can help yourself to whatever you like and dinner we can all eat together as a family! We eat everything but can easily accommodate vegetarians.

I am putting together my homestead on leased shared land. There are 6 family units involved in the 32 shared acres, of which I have use of 3 acres. I live off-grid in a 240 sq ft handbuilt caravan. I am practicing sustainability thru permaculture. my farm garden is beyond organic, relying on natures synergy. I am creating hugelkultur beds and lasagna beds as quickly as possible. It is my dream to grow all my own carbohydrates and livestock food in the near-ish future. This would make me fully self sufficient in food and herbs. also in the dream-works are an outdoor summer kitchen, another woodshed for storage, a solar oven, a solar water heater for the caravan, naturally filled pond/s for gravity irrigation, solar/wood heated outdoor shower and bathtub , a bicycle powered station for food grinding- and electricity production, more food forest which includes the polycultural food and medicinal garden, hoop house, composting toilet, coppiceable windbreaks, stone ridges for heat rete... more inside

We are 10 minutes from Vancouver Island, and invite energetic couples to join us as Helpers in the fall of 2018. Non-smokers only.

You will have accommodation in our private, detached guesthouse, backing onto forest.

We ask 4 hours work per person day. You will supply & prepare your own food in your own kitchen.

This is an oceanfront home (Tide Cottage) with large, modern guesthouse (Timmerhouse), located on Denman Island/Baynes Sound. The guesthouse is about 400 feet from our home, giving privacy. We have approximately 1 acre cleared, with a large vegetable garden and small orchard. The remaining 12+ acres is forested, from Timmerhouse inland. There is a creek crossing the property, via a 10-minute walk through the Douglas fir forest. * Currently needing someone with good upper body strength... *

Perfect summer retreat! (Couples welcome)

This is the ideal situation for someone who wants time and space for meditation, quiet reflection, walks in nature, working on your writing or artwork, and such.

Denman Island is a wonderfully quiet, sunny, nature-drenched place to spend a summer! (http://www.denmanisland.com has tons of info about the island.)

From our beautiful 16+ acre maple, cedar, and fir tree forest, you can hike the trails all the way to the park at the southern tip of the Island to look out over the lighthouse islet, see eagles nesting below you, and watch for seals and sea lions swimming. Or canoe on our adjacent wildlife marsh. If you prefer being at the ocean, quiet ocean beaches are about a half-hour walk away, down country lanes.

Here you can enjoy plenty of tranquil beauty and fresh, healing air! If you like trees, birds and wildlife, or relaxing at a beach you'd have pret... more inside

We are a small family living on a sweet, 5 acre piece of land with a nice mix of forest and open areas, and with a few other people.

I run a home based small business making custom artisan footwear, but the help I need is mostly on the land and in gardens.

We expect 5 hrs of work, 5-6 days a week in exchange for quality food and a place to stay, as well as an excellent learning opportunity with a rare craft.
* Other modified arrangements can also be discussed and customized to work for all. For example, less days of work and less meals or no meals, etc.

We have traveled in the past and enjoy connecting with people, both local and from abroad. We like to share food, have fires and play music, and strive to enjoy the work we do, do it well, and have a good time working together.

The ocean and a warm lake are biking or walking distance from our home. There are forest trails nearby, and the town center is 10 min. by car.
