Our place lies between the coast of Georgia Strait and Mt.Arrowsmith further to the west, 12 km north of Qualicum Beach. The 5.5 acres is home to 2 miniature donkeys, 2 Icelandic sheep, 2 pygmy goats, our two stock guardian dogs, few chickens and 2 cats. We do not have any more alpacas and llamas which were mentioned in some of helpers' reviews.
We are developing an orchard, organic garden and we are also constantly improving pastures and landscape, establishing wildflower meadow. There is always some light construction of farm buildings or house renovation available to handy individuals.
The work is varied and depends on the weather. Stay of 4 weeks minimum is preferred. Help is required approximately 25 hours in 5 or 6 days week. There is no problem to arrange 2 or 3 extra days off to visit Island's attractions. Accommodation is in the house or in adjacent studio and meals are provided, eating with the family - our palate is variable, non-vegetarian but vegetarians are welcome.... more inside

We are a community farm made up of families and single people who are doing their utmost to live life fully and honestly. In our radical life of togetherness we are being healed of the separation that is so prevalent in today’s society. Come spend some time with us on our organic farm in the lee of Mount Washington, whether it be gardening, preparing meals, caring for animals, working in our Café in Courtenay, singing, dancing, sharing meals, doing construction, processing milk into yogurt and cheese, or sharing your heart among friends (just to name a few!). Always exciting, always social. Come for a day or to stay!

Wow, exploring right outside our backdoor along side the Campbell River is a beautiful place to experience Fall and Vancouver Island`s great outdoors!!! Although we live on a one acre town lot, our back yard is situated on a cliff over looking an accessible beautiful heritage river, with a nature park setting of ferns, douglas firs, maples and alder trees. You can often see deer, racoons, bears and the silver backs of salmon and Steelhead fish jumping in the ebb and flow of the river’s pools. We have trail access to the river below, where you can enjoy listening to the sing song of many birds, tubing down the river/swimming in the heat of the summer, and trying your hand at casting for Steelhead fish. As well, our neighbourhood is the access point to many scenic nature walking and biking trails. The 1st three photos are at our home and the others are nearby nearby trails and local vistas.

If you have a specific trade or skill to exchange we can find you a suitable project. Ot... more inside

**Temporarily suspending helper program on our farm***

We are looking for fun loving & able general farm help on our farm from April thru Oct.

We live on a peaceful property that is located just up the road from a beach and we are a 15 minute drive from town. We love to laugh and have a fun environment while growing food for our community.

We have a 26 acre farm with chickens, many dogs and a barn cat, plus a 2 acre organic market garden. Our property has a four acre forest with a creek that is perfect for lazy days in the shade, reading or just laying beneath a tree.

We are part of a farming cooperative with 3 other farms and amazing female farmers. We have two farmers on site as well as 2 staff members who come during the week. We attend the Farmers` Market weekly and connect often with other farmers in the community so there are lots of opportunities to meet other helpers and farmers as well as community members.
