Hi! Thanks for checking us out!

*please note: we are currently booked up until April 2020

We live on a cozy acre of partially forested land nestled in a quiet neighbourhood by the sea just 15 minutes from downtown Victoria by bus - 10 minutes by car. Here we keep 12 chickens, 2 ducks, 5 honey bee hives, our loveable Australian Shepherd named Bandit, our 2 cats (R2D2 and Luke Skywalker), and several small gardens.

We are a 2 minute walk from a major bus route into town and are happy to help with transportation ourselves as well. There are also several small beaches and an oceanside park within walking distance!

Our accommodation includes your own private suite with private bathroom and balcony with ocean view. We also have an outdoor Hot Tub, bicycles, and canoes which we are happy to share!

A bit about us:

After spending 2 years living primitively off the land, Travis returned to Victoria to manage a locally owned hobby farm store. He spends his weekdays there and... more inside

We call our place "Paradise Mountain", as we have 52 acres of secluded paradise, with 5,000 acres of unoccupied government crown land surrounding us. We are high up on a 900 foot ridge on Vancouver Island, overlooking the Straight of Georgia/Salish Sea and Texada/Lasquetti Islands. We are wanting to build a modest and rustic Yoga Camp and Spiritual Retreat, and hope to open it up to the public for the summer/fall of 2020.

We are looking for Yoga or spiritually-minded individuals. Generally, couples or 2 helpxers travelling together work out best up here as most 'jobs' require 2 people....unless you are strong and can handle working alone sometimes. We need people to help clear and build areas for tenting sites, outhouses, cabin sites.....for 4-5 hours a day, or more if you wish. It would be nice if there was at least a 2-3 week commitment, so helpxers can leave their "Footprint/Legacy" on our Paradise by doing/building their own long-lasting project which they can be proud of. ... more inside

We are a diverse family farm located in Yellow Point on Vancouver Island. We have a mission of creating a well-balanced ecosystem and rich soils that produce nutrient-dense foods while treating the environment and the animals with respect. We use all organic methods in our farming practice, however we are not certified.

Currently we grow blueberries, garlic, other seasonal produce, plus we have miniature goats, sheep, pigs, and poultry. We offer Farm Tours, Goat Yoga, and Goat Walks (seasonally). We also run an air b-n-b on the property.

We are seeking a couple or a pair of good friends to come help out with day-to-day work on the farm January and/or February 2020. We will mostly be pruning our blueberry bushes. But also have other tasks to do which could include anything from planting, weeding, mulching, pruning, preparing seed beds, cleaning out animal stalls, doing routine health work on the animals and housekeeping in the tiny home air-b-n-b, etc. No prior experienc... more inside

Hello wonderful Helpx community:-)

We are a family of 5 living near Victoria on beautiful Vancouver Island. In the past, we have traveled extensively, but we just moved into our dream home, and now with small children we are feeling a need to travel vicariously through others and meet some fabulous people. We have met so many wonderful people through helpx!

Our new home has spectacular views, a hot tub and absolutely amazing hiking trails near by. Sooke is 13 km away, and Victoria is 30 km away. The surrounding area is fantastic - ocean beaches and lakes within a few km, many parks, and a great trail system. We have a resident owl who routinely serenades us. Bus service is available, but limited. Crispin drives into Victoria daily for work, so carpooling could be a option.

Our lovely guest room is very comfortable, and has views across the garden and into the surrounding forest. Laundry and Wifi are available. We would be also open to hosting a family with children. ... more inside

We are a community farm made up of families and single people who are doing their utmost to live life fully and honestly. In our radical life of togetherness we are being healed of the separation that is so prevalent in today’s society. Come spend some time with us on our organic farm in the lee of Mount Washington, whether it be gardening, preparing meals, caring for animals, working in our Café in Courtenay, singing, dancing, sharing meals, doing construction, processing milk into yogurt and cheese, or sharing your heart among friends (just to name a few!). Always exciting, always social. Come for a day or to stay!
