Hello, we are a heritage family farm with just the three of us (father, mother and son) working to handle the property, we grow fruits, veggies, nuts and also have various permaculture projects occurring yearly. We invest our time in permaculture, new energy, philosophy, invention, martial arts, life study and secondary farm products (making juices etc), and have a long-standing tradition of growing naturally and sustainably. We have found it difficult to keep things organized with only our own hands, so we are looking for people who are willing to help in exchange for lodging.

The exchange would be as follows: We have camping spaces as well as a living suite for 1-3 people. We work 7 days a week, but would only ask for help about 5-6 days a week, for aprox. 3-6 hours a day on a sliding scale, depending on the arrangement we agree on. Cooked Meals would NOT be included at this time, but we have cooking facilities and any seasonal farm produce is shared, including stored fruit ... more inside

Come visit the sunny south Okanagan - with wineries, beaches and a great Farmer's market.

We have a hobby farm with horses, dogs and gardens. Maybe more livestock in spring of 2019. Newer construction of rammed earth home. Great view, hiking trails and peaceful days on the top of the hill overlooking the city.

We are looking for 1 or 2 people who are non smoking to assist with day to day chores and farm projects in exchange for board, room and transport. Ideal stay is 2 - 4 weeks. Meals are simple unless you can also cook! Opportunity to assist with horse training and learn about natural hoofcare for the right helper.

We have wifi, satellite tv, sauna, massage chair and inversion table. Bring along your mountain bike for some great trail experience!

We live 11km from the Penticton hospital.

Currently (dec 2019) we are looking into booking for the spring gardening and riding season. Ski season is just around the corner!

Please contact by email or whatsap

Looking for help right now.
Disdero Ranch is in the scenic North Thompson valley 45 minutes from Kamloops, BC. I produce hay, raise Romney and Corriedale wool specialty sheep, Angora goats, Alpacas and Great Pyrenees dogs. I also have a Border Collie and a Jack Russell who thinks hes a Pyrenees. We just had Border Collies pups, they are two weeks old, sooo cute!
I require help with general ranch chores which include feeding animals and cleaning barns, herd health, help during lambing, ongoing wool prep and processing, carpentry projects, haying and general help in the kitchen and home and farm projects depending upon your skill set.

The property borders on the North Thompson River which has its own beach and is 4 hours from Vancouver. I am located an hour away from Sun Peaks, the 2nd largest ski resort in Canada, one hour from Wells Gray Park and 4 hours from Jasper.
My 4 bedroom ranch home has limited WiFi and satellite tv.
Look forward to hearing from you....
Laurie

Come spend some time at our ranch in the sunny Okanagan valley. Yes we still have bus service here since Greyhound ceased operating in western Canada. Ebus has taken over a route from Vancouver, Kelowna, Vernon & Kamloops so lucky for us. I feel wwoofers will have a hard time getting to their destinations this year so keep that in mind when you are looking for your next place. We are looking for helpers from April til September. We are open to short or longer term helpers. We are located on an 80 acre horse ranch 20 minutes from Vernon, B.C. on Bluenose road in the North Okanagan. After operating a child`s riding camp from 1991 til last year we are now focusing on renting out our cabins/facility. We rent out our facility to clubs or groups for events, weddings, family reunions or getaways. We are ideally looking for a couple or 2 friends but a single person would work out great as well. Private accommodation would be in a 35` trailer fully equipped and permanently set up, with a qu... more inside

We are a 500 cow calf ranch, putting 1200 tons of winter feed up, farming, irrigation, cattle movements and calving. Gardening and general maintenance around the buildings. Located 50 km from town in a valley that runs north to south. Private accommodations are available, prefer a couple because of the distance to town but will take singles.Food supplied. If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. For the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes, and cattle around. Round up beginning for weaning in November. There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don't be afraid to join us. Would like it if you came for a month but short stays are welcomed. We welcome any help and would like people to share their knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm. We start up in March through to December.

I believe that experiencing the outdoors can be transformative. When you are exposed to the beauty of nature, you begin to love it, then to cherish it. It is then that you begin to want to protect it. I believe that people who love the outdoors are our greatest environmental asset.

My project is bringing as many people with me outside as I can, so we can all get the most out of life as possible. I founded a hiking club to provide new Canadians and visitors to BC the opportunity to experience the outdoors in a safe, supportive environment. Find my hiking website at: http://pathstepping.wixsite.com/trukishikingclub

Volunteering is a big part of my life, from working with organizations that help the disabled, to food security, to helping new Canadians get adjusted. My Golden Retriever is a therapy dog and I have been involved in Big Brothers, and other non-profit organizations.

Join me in helping others. It is its own reward.

This place is a philosophical experiment. It's an experiment in communal living, in food production, open-mindedness, alternative modes of being, bartering, agile development and lumberjack architecture. What we're trying to create here is a sort of communal playground where locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to do whatever they feel like doing, to learn and teach, to express their creativity, and to have fun. We hope that many people will stay here over the coming years and that each will have an opportunity to create something lasting; from art installations to plant and animal life, from timber-frame building restorations to music and friendships, climbing walls, bike trails, and snowboard jumps. This place is something of a blank canvas, and we hope to create the right conditions that will inspire people to form and fulfill their own vision.

What separates The Compound from most other HelpX listings is that this is not a commercial enterprise. That is to ... more inside

Hello and welcome to all! My name is MaryLou, I live in a beautiful city called Kelowna,a year round tourist destination, just about 4 hours from Vancouver and one hour from Silver Star & Big White ski resorts with Mountain biking and hiking trails in the summer. Kelowna is located in a beautiful valley, I live just a few minutes walk from the gorgeous Okanagan lake and the Mission Creek Greenway. I am very active in the community, helping refugees.
