Our main location is on The Big Island of Hawaii, where we welcome guests as well as WWOOFers from April until December. North Kohala is a beautiful area, with clean air and lovely surrounding countryside. We have a large vegan-organic garden where we grow much of our own food, teach others how to do the same, and offer free cooking classes, consultations and meals to those interested in transitioning to a healthier, more peaceful way of living.

We also own 450 acres of magnificent New Zealand countryside, which we call Shangri-La, where we have been hosting wwoofers for the past 6-7 years. The land is situated in a private valley, with two pristine rivers. Each summer season (from November to May) we welcome WWOOFers who are willing to help us lift Shangri-la up to its name, which includes the planting and maintenance of hundreds of fruit trees, lots of flower gardens and several veganic vegetable gardens.

Aloha,

Come to Hawaii and experience a working Kona Coffee and Macadamia Nut farm. Currently we need guest workers mid- March through the end of 2019.

We also grow avocados, citrus, mangos, jaboticaba, papaya, lychee, mountain apples, pineapple, strawberry guava, cacao, coconuts and bananas.

The Mill House has a fully equipped kitchen, king size bed, sofa, oak dining table, four chairs, clothes armoire and clothes washer and dryer.

The Love Shack has a kitchen and dining area that seats four, with adjacent bedroom/ bath with queen size bed. There are two single bedrooms, three steps down from the main level. Surrounded by mango, avocado, coffee and banana trees, with a view of the Pacific sunset, you'll understand why it is called the Love Shack!

The housing exchange is 20 hours of hard work per week per person. Our work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8am to 1pm. Occasionally we share food after the work is complete. We prefer guests that can stay three to six weeks, and... more inside

My wife and I live on the premises and operate a B&B as well as tending to a small 100% organic fruit farm. We are primarily looking for farm help to do things such as pruning/trimming/weeding/mowing/weed-whacking/etc. There is also light cleaning outside our home (raking leaves, rinsing snorkel equipment, sweeping, etc.). We also appreciate help with indoor cleaning projects.

We are located south of Captain Cook at 1500 ft. elevation. Below us is Honaunau Bay and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park (Place of Refuge). We are at the end of a one-mile road mauka from the main highway. At the highway, there is a store, restaurant, and fruit stand all within close walking distance. A large grocery store is 5 miles away. There are a lot of HelpX/WOOFERS on the island and hitch-hiking is popular and safe. Within a few miles are beaches (Ho'okena) and popular snorkeling (2-Step) areas. The Big Island is really a paradise for outdoor activities.

Unlike many host properties... more inside

This is an opportunity to sail the Hawaiian islands as preparation for a longer trip in the South Pacific and beyond.

If you only have a short time available to volunteer, even just a few days, there is always the opportunity to help with boat projects in exchange for accommodation and sailing lessons(food is not provided). This is very popular. There would be no ocean sailing but even just life at anchor in Hawaii for a short time can be an experience. No specialized skills are necessary to assist with boat projects. An extra set of hands is help enough. Projects are usually short and simple, about an hour or two of work maximum per day.

The trip to the South Pacific is clearly a longer time commitment and time should be spent learning the boat within the Hawaiian islands first before the longer voyage. Sailing within Hawaii is a great way to find out if ocean sailing is something you would like to do. The focus will be on visiting the more remote locations that a... more inside

We are looking for helpers in the spring and fall who are interested in learning about farming, harvesting and the culinary arts. Because we have several food and farm related businesses, it is a perfect opportunity to experience, first hand, the ups and downs about being a food entrepreneur.

Come enjoy the beautiful island of Hawaii, while you work with us growing and processing macadamia nuts, passion fruit, coffee and avocados. Our farm is located in one of the most amazing parts of the Big Island, set in a lush tropical macadamia nut grove. At an altitude of 1200 ft, we have cooler nights and ocean views in the distance.

We are a few miles up the mountain from Two Step (a fantastic swimming and snorkeling beach) and The Place of Refuge, an important Hawaiian historical sites.

Some of the daily activities include cracking and sorting macadamia nuts, mowing, planting coffee, cooking and baking.

We bake pies, tarts, breads, rolls and make chutneys and jams, and n... more inside
