We are an off grid yoga, meditation and ecological Center in Pahoa, Hawaii. We host spiritual retreats from all over the world and also operate as a Bed and Breakfast when we are not hosting groups. We rely on solar power for our energy (we have a generator for cloudy days) and rainwater (100% safely filtered) for drinking.

This is an incredible place on ten acres of organic fruit trees with views of the ocean and a wonderful place for inner and outer peace. We support individual, couples and group retreats from a variety of cultures and beliefs with the intent of supporting and helping others develop their own path.

You will be sleeping most likely in a cabin shared with one other volunteer with comfortable beds, fresh towels and bedding. There is free high speed satellite internet available, hot showers, flush toilets and shared fully equipped kitchen. You will be responsible for your own medical insurance. Our main location is on The Big Island of Hawaii, where we welcome guests as well as WWOOFers from April until December. North Kohala is a beautiful area, with clean air and lovely surrounding countryside. We have a large vegan-organic garden where we grow much of our own food, teach others how to do the same, and offer free cooking classes, consultations and meals to those interested in transitioning to a healthier, more peaceful way of living.

We also own 450 acres of magnificent New Zealand countryside, which we call Shangri-La, where we have been hosting wwoofers for the past 6-7 years. The land is situated in a private valley, with two pristine rivers. Each summer season (from November to May) we welcome WWOOFers who are willing to help us lift Shangri-la up to its name, which includes the planting and maintenance of hundreds of fruit trees, lots of flower gardens and several veganic vegetable gardens.

We live in a house in the suburbs. If you google Hanauma Bay - you will know that it is located on the nicest and most sought after part of the island. It's a beautiful home with an indoor heated pool. We live seconds from the nearest beach. Close to an outdoor rock climbing wall. A few blocks from the golf course, and literally have a hike in our backyard that has the most amazing view! We also have a beautiful monstrous Banyan Tree in our backyard...we have hammocks in it to take naps in.

If we don't have any guests, we will put you in our guest bedroom. There is no AC in that room, but we have a fan =) If we do have a guest (curse of living in Hawaii! the revolving guests lol) we have a futon in our downstairs living room/ Daughter's playroom. It is also MUCH cooler down there.

If you know how to build a tree house and put in a toilet in our backyard...well guess what? you can live there too! Gas pipes, electricity wiring, and toilet drainage has already been installed to ... more inside

We are a small family of three: Robert, Ivy and our two year old son. Ivy is a Nurse Practitioner and Robert works in the office of a local painting contractor. We have a couple of extra bedrooms with a private bathroom at our house in Kahului. Our house is in a very safe and quiet neighborhood with a bus stop nearby and access to the main highways that go around Maui. Kahului is the main town on Maui and is where the shopping and major businesses are.

We are working "professionals" but are very chill and easy going. We like meeting new people and doing things together on the weekends when we`re not working. Nature is our favorite place to be so a hike to some waterfalls in the Bamboo Forest, snorkeling with the turtles at Napili, or just hanging out at Little Beach for the drum circle on Sundays are some of our favorite activities.

We are looking for some help with our household in exchange for a room and some board (breakfast). The household tasks are cleaning and coo... more inside

This is an opportunity to sail the Hawaiian islands as preparation for a longer trip in the South Pacific and beyond.

If you only have a short time available to volunteer, even just a few days, there is always the opportunity to help with boat projects in exchange for accommodation and sailing lessons(food is not provided). This is very popular. There would be no ocean sailing but even just life at anchor in Hawaii for a short time can be an experience. No specialized skills are necessary to assist with boat projects. An extra set of hands is help enough. Projects are usually short and simple, about an hour or two of work maximum per day.

The trip to the South Pacific is clearly a longer time commitment and time should be spent learning the boat within the Hawaiian islands first before the longer voyage. Sailing within Hawaii is a great way to find out if ocean sailing is something you would like to do. The focus will be on visiting the more remote locations that a... more inside
