No tobacco, please. Also, some of the cabins have showers and flush toilets, some use a rudimentary composting toilet and the community shower has lots of hot water but it isn't fancy. There are chickens wandering around, and they poop. If you are looking for hotel conditions, this isn't it. If you are looking for a beautiful setting and some adventure and would like to learn something about plants and Hawaii, please come on board.

We have a ten acre property with Anthuriums, coffee, orchids and lots of fruit trees, located in the rural side of the Big Island, far from the tourist areas of the state. While the growing is not organic, we try to use as little chemical input as possible. It is a peaceful and safe place, We raise chicken, eggs, and are looking at raising catfish and tilapia. We have two acres of producing coffee and picking season has begun. There is a community garden that helps feed everyone, and how well it is working depends on who is here to work in it. We built... more inside

I operate a "glamping" campground 10 miles North of Hilo, Hawaii (on the Big Island) near the tiny farming town of Honomu and the legendary Akaka Falls on the beautiful Hamakua Coast.

We live off-grid which mean we get most of our power from solar panels so we are providing an eco-friendly place to say.

It is a small family business and we take pride in offering accommodations that are both exceptional and reasonably priced. Everyone should be able to come visit this astonishing island. Hosting HelpX participants provides yet another avenue for people to experience Hawaii, regardless of their income bracket.

Our guests come from every corner of the world and our place is frequented the most by European visitors, who are looking for a more genuine, less touristic experience.

I find it disheartening that in many hotels, social interaction among guests is not supported and is often discouraged. It is important that social interaction among people remains a fundamental compo... more inside

We are an off grid yoga, meditation and ecological Center in Pahoa, Hawaii. We host spiritual retreats from all over the world and also operate as a Bed and Breakfast when we are not hosting groups. We rely on solar power for our energy (we have a generator for cloudy days) and rainwater (100% safely filtered) for drinking.

This is an incredible place on ten acres of organic fruit trees with views of the ocean and a wonderful place for inner and outer peace. We support individual, couples and group retreats from a variety of cultures and beliefs with the intent of supporting and helping others develop their own path.

You will be sleeping most likely in a cabin shared with one other volunteer with comfortable beds, fresh towels and bedding. There is free high speed satellite internet available, hot showers, flush toilets and shared fully equipped kitchen. You will be responsible for your own medical insurance. We offer daily yoga and meditation for our guests which is free fo... more inside

Aloha HelpX Guest Workers!

Come to Hawaii and experience a Kona Coffee and Macadamia Nut farm! We work our farm consistent with permaculture principles, utilizing all of the waste organic matter the farm produces to improve the soil and benefit the crops.

Kula Mana is on the western slopes of Mauna Loa volcano, in the South Kona district, and has all of the tropical fertility for which volcanic soils are famous. Because the farm is a mixed tree plantation, it provides great habitat to an abundance of bird, insect and mammalian life.

We attend the Pure Kona Farmers Market every Sunday (currently suspended due to the C-virus),
which enables us to share the abundance of the farm, building community and espousing permaculture.

We need guest workers through the next six months of 2020. Currently we are harvesting avocado, papaya, and bananas and are fertilizing and pruning coffee in preparation for the coffee harvest.

The harvest peak season is September through early ... more inside

We are a tropical organic farm/eco sanctuary on the beautiful lush north shore of Maui. We host ongoing personal retreat guests and offer a daily two hour morning practice of yoga, aerial yoga play, and sound healing. We also have a recording studio, spa and offer public sound healing ceremonies. We have a work exchange program and are looking for support staff for our yoga retreats. The scope of the work may include help with cleaning, landscaping, hosting, etc.

This is NOT an internship for teaching yoga or other classes. We require a minimum of 1-month commitment (preferably 3 months) with 20 hours per week. In exchange, we offer accommodations, meals, and classes. We love hosting couples, but do host single travelers from time to time to meet gaps!

1. Gardening and landscaping

2. Housekeeping and Breakfast Prep

Couples are encouraged to apply!

Our main location is on The Big Island of Hawaii. North Kohala is a beautiful area, with clean air and lovely surrounding countryside. We have a large vegan-organic garden where we grow much of our own food, teach others how to do the same, and offer free cooking classes, consultations and meals to those interested in transitioning to a healthier, more peaceful way of living.

We also own 450 acres of magnificent New Zealand countryside, which we call Shangri-La, where we have been hosting helpers for the past 6-7 years. The land is situated in a private valley, with two pristine rivers. Each summer season (from November to May) we welcome WWOOFers who are willing to help us lift Shangri-la up to its name, which includes the planting and maintenance of hundreds of fruit trees, lots of flower gardens and several veganic vegetable gardens.

In 1979, Gentle World became incorporated as a nonprofit educational organization, whose purpose is to help build a more peaceful society, by ... more inside
