LOOKING FOR HELPERS STARTING MID AUGUST, 2018

We have a small bed and breakfast on a five acre macadamia nut and coffee farm and a wide variety of organic tropical fruit trees. It's a beautiful farm set in a beautiful location not far from great swimming and snorkeling. I think you would enjoy meeting our guests from around the world. It's very peaceful here at the Beautiful Edge of the World. Many people say that our location has the best weather in Hawaii, some say we have the best weather in the world. Seldom too hot, never too cold, seldom too wet, never too dry.

We would be happy to have help with the bed and breakfast and also with a bit of farming and gardening--perhaps some coffee and macadamia nut harvesting and some help with pruning. Nice mix, I think. We'll make sure you have plenty of chances to experience the magic of the Big Island of Hawaii as well. Besides accommodation, we give our helpers some money for food and they are welcome to eat all the macadam... more inside

Primarily a banana farm, but also coffee and avocados. We are mostly concentrating on our banana business as demand is very strong and we are having a hard time keeping up!

Remote, exotically beautiful location on an old Hawaiian Kuleana garden land surrounded by jungle forrest. We are a small family with thriving farm businesses that require a lot of work. We are long time farmers here with lots to share about Kona style permaculture if you are interested. We live off grid, on water catchment, at the end of a 4wd road on the mountain above Ho'okena Beach and work long days as our dried banana business is growing beyond our wildest expectations. We also have won the Kona Coffee Cupping Competion (2004) and we ship avocados directly to Honolulu health food stores. We are full time farmers and this is a real farm, so if you want to experience life on a busy organic farm, please be ready to immerse yourself into our work bubble. We love our job but realize it's not for everybody! l... more inside

This is an opportunity to sail the Hawaiian islands as preparation for a longer trip in the South Pacific and beyond.

If you only have a short time available to volunteer, even just a few days, there is always the opportunity to help with boat projects in exchange for accommodation and sailing lessons(food is not provided). This is very popular. There would be no ocean sailing but even just life at anchor in Hawaii for a short time can be an experience. No specialized skills are necessary to assist with boat projects. An extra set of hands is help enough. Projects are usually short and simple, about an hour or two of work maximum per day.

The trip to the South Pacific is clearly a longer time commitment and time should be spent learning the boat within the Hawaiian islands first before the longer voyage. Sailing within Hawaii is a great way to find out if ocean sailing is something you would like to do. The focus will be on visiting the more remote locations that a... more inside

We are a small family of three: Robert, Ivy and our one year old son. Ivy is a Nurse Practitioner and Robert manages a retail store online. We have a couple of extra bedrooms with a private bathroom at our house in Kahului. Our house is in a very safe and quiet neighborhood with a bus stop nearby and access to the main highways that go around Maui. Kahului is the main town on Maui and is where the shopping and major businesses are.

We are working "professionals" but are very chill and easy going. We like meeting new people and doing things together on the weekends when we`re not working. Nature is our favorite place to be so a hike to some waterfalls in the Bamboo Forest, snorkeling with the turtles at Napili, or just hanging out at Little Beach for the drum circle on Sundays are some of our favorite activities.

We are looking for some help with our household in exchange for a room and some board (breakfast). The household tasks are cleaning and cooking. Additi... more inside
