Nestled in the coastal range of Mendocino County, California (about 45 minutes west of Ukiah) we are establishing a small farm and wildlife sanctuary.  Based on principles of sustainability & permaculture our expanding ridge top garden consists of a variety of fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers.  Aside from garden tasks additional projects may include gathering seaweed and other native wild foods, cooking, canning, fermenting foods, making herbal preparations, habitat restoration, brush and trail clearing, small scale green building and learning how to build and maintain an off grid infrastructure and solar system.

Our homestead is remote.  We are currently looking for physically fit self-starters  who are open minded, love to be outdoors, want to unplug and would enjoy the serenity of a mountain forest.  We require a 1 month minimum stay.  If you have ever thought you might like to homestead or purchase raw land then our farm would be a good place to visit.  If you are looking f... more inside

Come help our family in Seattle. I am currently recruiting for help starting in March 2020 through the end of August 2020.

Seattle is a wonderful city to use a base for exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest! We live in the University district in Seattle. We are very close to the Burke-Gilman trail and the University of Washington. Our house is within walking distance of parks, grocery stores, and public transportation like the buses and the light rail.

We are always looking for helping hands to help us with the dogs, the kids, the house, the yard, the summertime garden, and the busy life that comes with this stage of life. We are a family of two adults and three children. We also have two dogs, ages 11 and 12 (almost 13). During the school year, the kids are in school, and during the summer, the kids go to day camps.

We host throughout the year. There are always plenty of things to do around here. It’s nice to have another person around (in & out of the house) to keep... more inside

We are a small friendly hostel in San Luis Obispo, California. We are near the coast, and halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We provide lodging for 24 guests from all around the world. We have four staff members who participate in the work exchange.

For new volunteers, the work consists mainly of cleaning the hostel, but it is light cleaning since we do it each day. We usually train volunteers on the morning pancake shift (staff favorite) after they have done the cleaning shift for a few weeks.

We require 20 hours of work each week (usually 5 shifts, 4 hours per shift) in exchange for a bed in a dormitory and some food such as rice, beans, lentils, quinoa, eggs, oatmeal, sourdough pancakes, and coffee.

Because our facility is small, we cannot host children, pets, and most of the time we can not accept more than one new person at a time. We usually accept volunteers that can stay for at least a month, but in some rare cases we’ll accept 2 weeks.

RIGHT NOW I`M LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY TO START HELPING ME in 2019-2020! I`M ALSO PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.
Vegan and vegetarian friendly!

Hi my name is Bruce.
I`m wondering if you would be interested in helping someone like myself. By the previous sentence I mean someone who is charming, wonderful, engaging, intelligent and shy. I broke my neck when I was 18 years old and have been in a wheelchair ever since. After breaking my neck I went back to school and received a couple of degrees. I`m looking for someone who is energetic, intelligent and ready to take on a challenge. It`s important to me that whomever I choose has good sense humor and can understand sarcasm. I`m also a liberal and I am concerned about politics along with many other things. If you`d like to know more about me and what assisting me entails I would be happy to provide you with that information :) by the way I live 28 miles East of San Francisco in a town called Walnut Creek. We have need of help with some interesting carpentry projects. Working in our becoming permaculture garden. Trail work in the forest. And help with our BnB. Located west of Mt. Rainier National Park and near many other beautiful nature areas, an hour+ south of Seattle and less than an hour from Olympia, this FSC certified forest/wetland includes a straw bale home, 2 yurts, and a tent/cabin. I would love to have one or two who would be able to help with outside projects and/or help with the bnb. My partner, Jim, always has some interesting building project going on. Right now he is converting a cargo container into a tiny home.
I would expect helpers to work 3-4 hours/day for 5 days/week. We provide meals and work with you if we can, but your ability to work without constant supervision is appreciated.

If you can stay for more than two weeks, we usually get you out doing fun stuff like visiting Mt. Rainier or Seattle. And we offer organic meals. Jim and I are both pretty ... more inside
