Right now I need someone helping with fencing and cutting trees for firewood! I have huge trees falling onto the pasture fence. Garden and irrigation work is starting now too. Best a man that likes this work! Have my guest room with balcony for privacy above the barn next to the farmhouse, 3 meals after your choice, 1-2 days off however you wish, I am flexible and like the one helping me to be happy... while time allows maybe riding horses if you like and if you are a good rider... or bring your bike or rafting boat, there is a river and lots of dirt roads, it is beautiful along the river and lake.

I have a Ranch with 12 Icelandic horses, did have some horse breeding, raising, training and now maybe sale some Icelandic Horses, in the south west corner of Colorado, bordering New Mexico Carson Nat. Forest. I am looking for helpers that like to come to the Ranch for working vacations. I am from Switzerland, I speak German and English.
My wish is to find helper-ladies for riding hor... more inside

We are a Jewish am ha` aretz family on a small organic (non-certified) farmstead in the foothills of the Rocky mountains in north-central Idaho. We are near the Clearwater River and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. but our most special crop, and the reason we live the simple life we do, is our children.

Our goal is to raise our family in a healthy, country, close to the earth kind of way. Animals, gardening, baking, herbal remedies, natural food preservation, bio-dynamic gardening methods.... We love having volunteers, getting to know other cultures, sharing stories, and experimenting with new ideas. Plus, the help has been an amazing blessing.

Skills you could learn here, learning about fermenting breads, sourdough, baking in a cob oven, ethical poultry production and gardening, and different methods of making soils more fertile organically.

Update April. Travel through Colorado is discouraged so we'll put a hold on helpers until this clears. Thanks.
For this coming season we are looking to find someone with house renovation skills.... framing, minor roofing, window and door installation, drywall and painting would be the ticket. Longer stay available to get the overall job done or just short projects okay too.
Also we have the usual animal routines.... feeding, watering and caring for the goats ( all 6 named and oh so cute ), horse, dogs and birds. Some fencing to increase the acreage they can access.
Permaculture gardening practices... ongoing needs out there. Ground cover seeding, vege planting, moving wood chips.... there's always something to be done.....
Two people would be fine if the skills are spread across both.
Plenty of recreation in the area: bicycles, tennis courts, frisbee golf, lakes and boats etc available nearby.

We are a group of family and friends from Louisiana who have re-located to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Our new home is in Niwot, Colorado near Boulder. Most of the time our home is occupied a diverse age group-- two 6 year olds, three milinneals and a grandmother. Currently some of our community have returned to Louisiana.

We are so grateful that we are in such a secure and healthy location. We are aware that communities like ours will offer a solution for creating a new culture and economy. We want to grow our community now---April through July. We are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity and Local Farms to creat a trained work force in construction and farming. This is our call for Helpers who are ready to implement a new vision.

We are focused on creating heaven on earth through conscious living, caring and sharing. In everyday living, we share as a extended family---and we enjoy customs and celebrations that are inclusive of many cultures and tri... more inside

Are you tired of the rat race? Tired of being tethered to your Technology? Looking to get away from it all?
Me too!!! So I came up here to the Mountains of West Virginia.
"Country Roads take me home..." YES, that West Virginia!!!
I'm in a cozy, recently updated 120 year old 2 story wood framed house nestled on 60 acres. With Apple trees, wild berries, natural spring water, deer in the front yard, fireflies at night and some of the most breathtaking views out on the "back forty".
It's not completely in the middle of nowhere, heck there's a county road just 100 feet from the front porch. However, the nearest gas station is 15min away, the nearest grocery store is less than 30min away and the nearest town is less than an hour away.
There is cell phone service, better for AT&T users. No WiFi or TV! There are a few radio stations on the stereo.
Yes, we have electricity and actual spring fed water!
If your looking to get away from it all, but not get stuck out in the middle of no... more inside

We are a small mountain town hostel that caters to adventure seekers looking to get their fill of the mountains. While we do love a good craft beer and we are a chill place to work we are not a party hostel, but one focused on outdoor adventure. If you're looking for a smaller more family type atmosphere from which to base your adventures we are the place to be.

We offer a private room with a shared bathroom in exchange for 10-15hrs a week of work. We can take one single person or a couple. Work is usually one day of front desk and helping out with housekeeping or basic maintenance to fill the rest of your hours.

It is great if you have a car, but it is not necessary. We have trail access to our extensive mountain bike trails right out the back door. The Arkansas River also flows 100ft from our back porch, with easy river access. There's tons of hiking, biking, rafting, and tubing. Almost every weekend in the summer there's a festival, and we have a huge local craft brew and ... more inside

We are on Flathead Lake with 200 feet of very private lake shore.
The orchard is 100 trees of a variety of fruits so something is ripening most of the growing season. We participate in a local farmers market.
We accommodate individuals and couples through AirBnB primarily in summer in both a large 4 bedroom home and in some rustic accommodations right on the lake shore. So, I have orchard work and house cleaning work during the summer months to offer in exchange for accommodation in a 2 bedroom apartment above my garage shop with shared living area and eating area. The rooms are private with doors that close. Upstairs is heated with a wood stove that is downstairs in the shop or with propane heat when the stove is out for the night. Pictures are included of the apartment in my listing. We usually have firewood gathering to do so use of a chain saw is a valuable skill to have here.
Further opportunities for work are available in the form of carpentry and auto mechanics.
