We are a Jewish am ha` aretz family on a small organic (non-certified) farmstead in the foothills of the Rocky mountains in north-central Idaho. We are near the Clearwater River and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. but our most special crop, and the reason we live the simple life we do, is our children.

Our goal is to raise our family in a healthy, country, close to the earth kind of way. Animals, gardening, baking, herbal remedies, natural food preservation, bio-dynamic gardening methods.... We love having volunteers, getting to know other cultures, sharing stories, and experimenting with new ideas. Plus, the help has been an amazing blessing.

Skills you could learn here, learning about fermenting breads, sourdough, baking in a cob oven, ethical poultry production and gardening, and different methods of making soils more fertile organically.

We are a very busy couple and own a fitness business in Boulder, Colorado (cheetahfit). Whoever stays with us can workout at our facility if they would like to. We have a beautiful gym with wellness center.

We are looking for someone to help us with house cleaning, cooking and babysitting at times. Possibly some yard work if there is time. We are looking for about 30 -35 hours per week of work in exchange for food, accommodation and gym membership. We love to meet people from other cultures as we have both traveled extensively and have friends all over the world.

We are a 20 acre off-grid, solar powered, fairly remote homestead on the side of a mountain. We are at 4700 feet elevation. We specialize in raising cashmere goats in a holistic manner. We live in a very small strawbale house, cook on a wood cookstove in the winter, electric hot plates and a little convection oven in the summer.
The land is very special around here, with stunning views and no houses in sight, although there are a couple of neighbors not too far away. Wildlife is everywhere, from rabbits and deer, elk and moose, to foxes, coyotes, wolves, bear and mountain lions.
We have gardens, both veggie and flowers, plus fruit trees and berries. 27 cashmere goats, some meat goat crosses, 23 Chickens,2 dairy goats, and 2 Livestock Guardian dogs.
There are goat pens to clean, gardens to tend to, and firewood to gather, among other things. We have some building projects planned, too. We're bordered by thousands of acres of National Forest lands, so there... more inside

I have a Ranch with 14 Icelandic horses, did have some breeding, raising, training and now sale some Icelandic Horses, in the south west corner of Colorado, bordering New Mexico Nat. Forest. I am looking for helpers that like to come to the Ranch for working vacations. I am from Switzerland, I speak German and English.
My wish is to find helpers that are already pretty good riders in order to ride the horses, and also like to do ranch work. Helpers that love to work with smaller 5-gaited horses, and do like to work outside all day. For riding they need to be smaller people and not heavy in order to ride my Icelandic Ponies, see weight limits on my website. I have a nice little one person bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom... I offer 3 meals if they do ranch work all day and/or can help training horses. You can help chose from what is in the fridge, and also help with the cooking so that you like the meals. This in exchange to help me feed animals and do the clean up first, the... more inside

My wife and I bought a big ol Queen Anne house in Deadwood, South Dakota a few years ago. The town is great, and so is the house, but it needs work. It was vacant for three years before we got ahold of it, and it was in rough shape. So far, we`ve replaced the roof, shored up the foundation, replaced the plumbing, rebuilt the porches and landscaped. Whew.

But there`s still a lot to do. And not only can we use some help restoring and maintaining the house, we`re also running the house as a bed and breakfast. That`s where you come in. If you`re willing to help us out with the house and help us take care of guests, we`ve got plenty of room for you to stay with us. Here are the kinds of tasks wed be looking for help with:

*Painting, inside and out.
*Oiling and polishing woodwork and dusting.
*Refinishing woodwork (doors, baseboards and trim) - you know, if that`s in your wheelhouse.
*Landscaping our small garden beds in the spring and summer, shoveling snow in winter.
*Cleanin... more inside
