We have just moved our farm from Colorado to the Black Hills of SD. This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of setting up a homestead farm. We currently have hogs, llamas, yaks and poultry. We will be adding sheep and cattle plus building a geo-air greenhouse later this summer. This is a great opportunity to "build" a farm with people who have done it once before. If you can help with construction or have plumbing, electrical or welding skills that would be an extra bonus for us. Until we have the guest cabin set up, you will need to have an RV of some sort to live on the property in. We can supply you hook up for water and electricity.

We are a Jewish am ha` aretz family on a small organic (non-certified) farmstead in the foothills of the Rocky mountains in north-central Idaho. We are near the Clearwater River and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. but our most special crop, and the reason we live the simple life we do, is our children.

Our goal is to raise our family in a healthy, country, close to the earth kind of way. Animals, gardening, baking, herbal remedies, natural food preservation, bio-dynamic gardening methods.... We love having volunteers, getting to know other cultures, sharing stories, and experimenting with new ideas. Plus, the help has been an amazing blessing.

Skills you could learn here, learning about fermenting breads, sourdough, baking in a cob oven, ethical poultry production and gardening, and different methods of making soils more fertile organically.

Small sheep ranch in northern Montana offers hands-on-learning experiences. We run about 40 head of ewes for wool and lamb crops. There is need for sheep herding help in the summer, lambing help during around April in particular. Shipping is in August. But internships accepted all year.
Other ranch activities include plantings for wildlife, fencing, farming, gardening and landscaping, building and repairs. Besides sheep, ranch animals include chickens, horses, and goats.
I would welcome Helpers who have some skills in landscaping, gardening, carpentry, construction, painting, driving tractors, fencing - or who want to learn. Several projects are lined up that would give a variety of experiences. Regenerative is a byword for goals here. Historic preservation or this old homestead is another goal.

Summer and fall are wonderful times to spend in this area as time off to see Glacier Park and rodeos, fairs, other events are easily scheduled.
Note: many area events normally... more inside

Hello potential helpers! Looking for a peaceful stay in Colorado`s Rocky Mountains in exchange for some help on our property?

We would be thrilled to find someone with stone and/or brick masonry skills, experience with concrete, tile setting, cabinetry, or carpentry skills. Or engineers of any kind - you engineers are always amazing!

Another area in which help is needed: previous experience with WooCommerce stores, integrating them with an accounting system, and social media marketing, SEO, would make you Rona's best friend.

We may be able to use your help in landscaping/general labor shorter term, on a last minute basis only, April through October only.

We will provide very comfortable accommodation, great meals, and side sightseeing trips.

We`ll be doing things like building a flagstone patio, stucco walls, and closing in a carport. Also, we`ll be putting up cedar fencing, and doing some interior renovations as well as an addition to our house.

We are a young family (former Helpx volunteers throughout Europe!) that has built with our own hands a small cabin rental business in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. We will need help at various times throughout the summer and winter of 2020 and potentially beyond with some building projects and some cleaning. We have a 10-acre property with a private waterfall and creek located just outside of East Glacier Park, gateway to the Two Medicine region of Glacier National Park. We have a renovated Airstream camper which we currently use as an office. It has a bed, couch, fridge, stove, sink, toilet and shower- a bit spartan but comfortable! You will need your own transport.

UPDATE- we have changed our plans for the summer of 2020 as detailed below and will likely be holding off on building projects until next year. We are now looking for a person/couple to help with cabin cleanings (5-20 hours/week) and maybe some minor building/construction/upkeep (trails, invasive weeds, trash c... more inside

Our home is in Southern Colorado sitting atop of the Wet Mountain range at 8,500 feet above sea level or roughly 2,600 meters, overlooking the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, thus providing 360 degrees of mountain views. We are also part of the Dark Sky community, meaning our night skies are desired by both astronomers and astro-photographers alike.

Our home is situated on 75 acres that is inhabited by a variety of wildlife, including deer, elk, fox, black bear, bobcats, mountain lions, turkeys and numerous species of birds. We are surrounded with natural wonders with hiking to be enjoyed on both our property as well as the adjoining National Forest.

If you are looking for more social activity and the bustle of a larger town, this is not the place for you. However, if you are drawn to spending time in the wilderness, exploring the mountain, and enjoying a quieter, slower pace of life, then this is the place you are looking for. It's very peaceful here, and we want to keep it ... more inside

We are a very busy couple and own a fitness business in Boulder, Colorado.

We have a beautiful home in a small town of Lyons, Colorado which is close to Rocky Mountain National Park. We are generally looking for someone to help us with yard work, some building as we are updating our home so any handy man and landscaping skills are helpful. Currently we are building a deck and stairs from tiger wood, so we are looking for a helper who can help with this project. We are looking for about 25-30 per week of work in exchange for food, accommodation. We love to meet people from other cultures as we have both traveled extensively and have friends all over the world.

You will have your own private room. We are very much into health and make mostly organic meals. We can accommodate any dietary restrictions.

We are currently looking for a helper for a short term or long term stay. We are really looking for the right person who can help us and in return we will make sure that you w... more inside

Work exchange for LAND or PDC & other EDUCATION CREDITS!

Wheaton Labs is actually two pieces of land: “Base Camp” which has a few buildings on it already, and “The Laboratory” ("The Labs"), which started as bare timber land.

Here at Wheaton Labs, we have all kinds of “farmer laboratory” innovations and experiments taking place, such as wofatis, willow feeders (compost toilets), hugelkultur, polyculture food systems integrated with holistic management-style animal systems, a different style of community, aquaculture, and earthworks for privacy, water retention and frost protection. The ultimate goal is the least toxins possible. Base Camp and The Lab will have differing levels of what and where plastics, paint or other toxins will be allowed. The Lab is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and expansive coniferous forests and nearly a thousand acres of federal Bureau of Land Management land. It is truly surrounded by beauty!
Base Camp and the Lab were purchased in 2013. We a... more inside

We are a 20 acre off-grid, solar powered, fairly remote homestead on the side of a mountain. We are at 4700 feet elevation. We specialize in raising cashmere goats in a holistic manner. We live in a very small strawbale house, cook on a wood cookstove in the winter, electric hot plates and a little convection oven in the summer.
The land is very special around here, with stunning views and no houses in sight, although there are a couple of neighbors not too far away. Wildlife is everywhere, from rabbits and deer, elk and moose, to foxes, coyotes, wolves, bear and mountain lions.
We have gardens, both veggie and flowers, plus fruit trees and berries. 27 cashmere goats, 17 Chickens,2 dairy goats, and 2 Livestock Guardian dogs.
There are goat pens to clean, gardens to tend to, and firewood to gather, among other things. We have some building projects planned, too. We're bordered by thousands of acres of National Forest lands, so there are lots of hiking oppo... more inside
