We need helpers beginning in January going forward. Our normal stay is 2 weeks but we will try to work with your schedule.

We prefer to have "Helpers" who are willing to socialize with our family and learn what we do as well as teaching us what they do. We want this to be a 2-way street. We also prefer that you have some self-motivation.

Our main focus is the rescue of llamas and alpacas and we need help in the pastures with feeding, fencing, clearing tree branches, burning etc. We have projects going on at all times and can use someone who is willing to learn about our operation. Would also like help with projects around the property including electrical and minor carpentry. Our chickens are in their "palace" due to our Helpxer`s and we now have fresh eggs. We are expanding our chicken palace to move 30 new ones in.

Besides helping with the llamas and alpacas, we have property projects, and other odds and ends.

We have very limited internet (no Wi-Fi) but you can c... more inside

I am an older woman, living on five mostly undeveloped acres just outside Roswell, N.M. (yes, THAT Roswell) who needs help mostly outside, trying to make my property self-sustainable. I`m learning as I go, so trying new things is always fun.

I have just retired from my job and will be traveling the world for the next few years. However, the property still needs caring for and my caretaker, Gary, a HelpXer himself, will be overseeing it and taking over the hosting duties.

Thanks to some marvelous HelpXers in the past, the major (read: really hard) work is done, so now I need folks who can help plant, weed, water and harvest my gardens, as well as feed and care for my two llamas, six goats, two ducks and dozen or so chickens.

There`s still some outdoor cleanup to be done and we both love folks who come up with creative new ideas for my property. (And, if you`re into cooking or housekeeping, we won`t turn that down either.)

This spring, Gary is looking for ... more inside

Our fall/winter season is underway with seeding and transplanting and bed prepping well along. It will be a great opportunity to learn about organic growing practices while experiencing Texas at the best time of year.

We are a diversified fruit and vegetable growing operation. As a small family farm in rural coastal Texas, we have been growing a mixture of orchards and row crops and raised beds for 14 years. The chores involve help with harvesting, planting, cultivating, and seed starting along with general maintenance, participation in on-farm food events and all the other jobs that occupy Donna and Ernest and their 2 long-term employees.

We can provide a full immersion experience in a market growing operation. This is an opportunity for people with serious farming interest, not simply travelers looking for a place to stay, and priority will be given to those with farming aspirations. Donna & Ernest are happy to mentor future farmers and will tailor farming education to meet... more inside

My husband Tim and I moved out to our place in the desert in January 2008 along with our many plants. It was soon after we arrived that I got re-introduced to the miracle Moringa tree and began growing them. One thing led to another and our company was born. We have continued to grow our little farm to what it is today. We have an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees, an enclosed veggie garden area that is protected from wildlife, several growing structures (greenhouses in winter and shade structures in summer), and lots of projects to become more self sustainable, including solar energy production, etc.

We endeavor to provide a vast range of experiences for someone, and to offer a well balanced variety of activities that allows someone to learn as well as to contribute. As our business continues to grow, as well as the natural shift in focus / priorities that happens from season to season, our needs at various times also shift. Our most immediate need at the momen... more inside

Looking for help Fall 2018 (2-4 weeks)

Is there a couple (or two friends) wanting to see Austin for a few weeks? We are looking for a team who can help battling the yard back into submission. It is time to stain the deck as well. Experience with yard maintenance & home projects wanted.

We are located within the city (10 minute drive to downtown) if you have vehicle- otherwise, bus access down the block will take you anywhere in the city.

I'd like a couple of folks who can work for 20 hours per week.

As a bonus you will have separate lodging, which is actually a really great space (photos below). However, please no smoking inside, or any drugs. Music is great- just not so loud that you will get my neighbors mad or have the local police visit me. My husband and I live in the front house so you will have privacy in this back building.

If interested, write and let's continue the dialogue.
