** Willing to host a healthy and honest person(s) who needs a safe place during this pandemic. I am worried about all of you travelers and worry you are being overlooked in all this. I am at high risk so good communication before we decide is vital **

UPDATED AGAIN!!

A year ago I was trying to come to terms with a possible MS diagnosis and things were looking pretty bleak. The good news / bad news now is that they did not confirm or rule out MS. But they did find severe arthritis, degenerative spinal disease, a few bulging disks and pinched nerves. And thatís just in my upper back! When I can get back to the specialist we are going to start looking at my lower back. Fun fun!

I have to take it easy, no heavy lifting and all that jazz but at least I have a plan for achieving better health now. I donít have a lot of stamina and need to rest often. I have a long way to go but am more optimistic than I have been in years and that... more inside

We are currently considering potential prospective inquiries from JULY-October 2020.

Our place is set in a beautiful wooded valley in southern Indiana, surrounded by the Hoosier National forest; so our place is a magical place, with lots of trees, birds, wildlife and natural beauty. We cherish nature here and give gratitude every day to Mother Earth. It is remote and isolated, with the nearest neighbor about a mile away. The closest small town with a convenience/gas store is 7 miles. We will consider HelpXers only after extended conversation and full understanding of the isolated location of our property. No pets allowed.
To enter the property, a ford across a small stream, the Patoka River, must be crossed, or, if the water is up, a footbridge is available. It is extremely quiet, tranquil and peaceful here. We are located 48 miles west of Louisville, KY. Wi-Fi is available and the feed is via unlimited optic fiber.
We are a wife and husband who grow vegetables for persona... more inside

We are on a 65 acre farm in North Pope County, Illinois and are virtually surrounded by the Shawnee National Forest. Having been on this farm for five years, we are still developing infrastructure and are continuing to plant in the orchard and various berries as well as establishing and expanding garden and crop areas.

We are a GMO, herbicide and pesticide free farm in all of our outdoor areas. As we are far away from "modern agricultural" property, we feel that we should have no problems with cross pollination of our crops with GMO's or damage/exposure from/to ag chemicals.

There are many projects currently in process or in the planning stages. This summer/fall we hope to get new water and electric lines ran to all the barns and the greenhouse as well as get a fiber studio framed in and get the finishing touches on the greenhouses.

Tasks on the farm are endless, so there are always things to do year round. Clearing brush, cutting wood, building fence, baling hay, sawin... more inside

Hi there! If you want to experience many different things, this may be the place for you! I have a small organic farm with over 500 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers, as well as many other native plant species. I also have a Natural Foods Store and deli (We have lots of posts and photos on FB and IG). The store is located in a town in Iowa with a population of 10,000 in the winter and 100,000+ in the summer, because of all the seasonal residents and people who come to vacation at the lakes. The farm is located in a town in Minnesota, 33 miles from the store, with a population of about 40!

I have one work exchange person right now, and things are a total unknown at this point, as to how the next 4-6 months are going to turn out, due to all this virus stuff, but I would like to find 1 or 2 more who are willing and able to come here for an extended stay, if not the entire growing season, which will go until October. Shorter stays by additional people may be o... more inside

I'm a grain farmer in Nebraska. I raise corn and soybeans and some alfalfa hay. I have a small heard of beef cows. I can always use help in the spring with calving, and planting of the crops. In the summer there always seems to be a lot of things going on baling the hay, repairing building and equipment. In the fall i can always use help harvesting the crops. I farm the land owned by one of the largest pumpkin patches in the area. If your not going to reply to my emails please dont bother emailing me. I'm a busy person I respond to all. I think it shows a lack of being unreliable and unresponsible.

***UPDATE: Now seeking helpers for 2020 season - mid-May through September/October, one to three weeks is our average stay, longer stays are negotiable. Please message us with questions regarding how we are working through the COVID19 restrictions***

OUR HELPERS: We learn something about life from each of our helpers and we *love* that! While we often work side by side with our helpers, we prefer someone who is capable of working on their own or with minimal supervision, is self-motivated (someone who sees something needs done and jumps in and does it), and has a fair degree of independence.

OUR URBAN FARM: Located just a few hours West of Chicago in the heartland of the United States, ours is an organic, urban culinary herb and veg farm that is constantly changing and evolving. Much help is needed in creating vertical grow space and building new raised beds or repairing existing ones.

We grow organic herbs, edible blossoms, fruits, veg and greens. We sell to local upscale... more inside

Hey Travelers! Right now we are just starting out. We are past the planning stages of building our homestead and tiny home for guests. This is located on a sovereign Indian Reservation and mamas family is traditional native American and her father is a full blood native with half Menominee and half Arikara. Thereís all kinds of traditional stuff that goes on here. Leather work, hide process, beading and ect ect.

Our plans were to start May 1 building our home and build the guest house with the left overs but that never happened due to logistical errors with the county. We are looking at alternative housing ideas. I want to create as much as possible with what is on the land. I enjoy inventing things to make it easier. We will be off grid and will eventually have a 7KW solar array, well, septic, and gas cooking and water heat. Goats, egg layers and meat birds, guinea hens, meat rabbits, pigs and whatever else we acquire. We are highly carnivorous and eat meat pretty much every mea... more inside
