Our family has been in the Carolina low-country since the 1670s, and here on this property since 1827. The farm and family have seen many changes throughout the centuries, and is looking to the future!

An experimental and educational farm/homestead, we are working to bring a high level of self-sufficiency/sustainability here and to share our knowledge with our visitors.

This is the farm's 9th year hosting visitors. Forty-six countries represented and over 375 guests staying, all have helped make the farm a better place. They have laughed, learned, sweated, plus they have help grow and have eaten some great food. We hope all that spend time here will take something positive away with them. Looking forward to another year of great helpers and guests!

We are a gay male couple with a three bedroom two bath house in a residential area of Hollywood, FL. We are 4 miles to the beach in Hollywood, 10 miles south of Ft. Lauderdale and 25 miles north of Miami.
You really have to be an animal lover because we have three dogs: 2 weimaraners, and a Jack Russell terrier as well as a ball python.
You also have to be completely SMOKE-FREE. While we respect your right to smoke, we don't want you to share its effects with us, our pets, or our rooms. Therefore we accept only NON-SMOKING guests. This is more than just a non-smoking policy for our property. This means non-smoking during your entire stay with us, on and off our property.
Public transportation is available although not as sophisticated as in some larger cities. Our neighborhood is extremely safe and we have lovely neighbors. We also have a hot tub that is great at the end of the day--and clothing optional.
We're mostly looking for just general work around the house and es... more inside

My heart beats for the feeling of having several common goals in life and sharing that experience with others on the same path.
a good motto? perhaps,
some people show up for a reason, a season, a life time or a lesson.

openness is the lubrication of life.

I have built some beds for gardening. and now need help going forward.
I work full time in construction and gardening is not a part time thing.
seeking a person or persons who love the land and its yeilds of produce and more? fresh eggs?

I can use help in completing projects, and starting more.some of you are so over talented for my small endeavor.

i don't know it all and I am teachable.
you will be value-able to help create the stage for those wanting to share communal values and lifestyles,
I have lived in several intentional communities locally. Always a life enriching experience. btw. my ego will support your life experience and suggestions, easily, lol..........

I am in the process of converting my downtown urban property into 100% edible/medicinal/support landscape. Lots of projects going on.

I need help with house keeping and gardening. I have a very comfortable tiny house that you may use while you are here. if the tiny house is already in use you will be in my spare bedroom. I offer room and meals in exchange for 20 hours work per week. I expect a solid work exchange for your stay. I am not running a vacation hostel; though your off time is your own. If you are not comfortable with pulling weeds you need not request to stay here. My gardens are my focus and weeding is an ongoing thing.

I have one hard and fast rule. You may not receive mail of any sort while staying on my property. I will gladly direct you to a mailbox company if you are needing to receive mail or packages.

Delray was voted americas funnest small town by rand McNally. I'm 1.8 miles from the beautiful Delray Beach. I'm on the main bus line to down town and I ha... more inside

My husband and I have a small farm, about 60 miles north of Nashville that has a lot of growing to do. We raise sheep and have two donkeys and no children. We hope for cultural exchanges along with 4 to 5 hours of help 5 days out of the week, not including meal prep and clean-up. Winter upon us, fertilizing and trimming bushes around farm needs to be done. I also want to plan and implement to make another water cistern to help with the ever growing water needs.
We are currently working on an outside shower supplied by filtered rain water, that will be amazing to use.
Our recent somewhat lengthy trip to New Zealand is where we learned so much about sustainability. This trip opened up a world of ideas needed to live on our own with very little outside intervention.
We are working on a small greenhouse, and a small seeding greenhouse.
We have recently upgraded our wood working tools to “top of the line”,if anyone has the passion and or skill to use them. If you have an intere... more inside

Suburban aquaponics gardener; in need of help with development of sustainable living, composting, recycling, moving toward permaculture, as well as, maintenance of home, cabin, yard, and garden. There is plenty to do, even on a small homestead. If someone has cooking interests, or other interests, like building skills, most likely they can be used.

Busy household with 3 teenagers, friends, and lots of music interests. The tiny cabin is recently finished and was created for a peaceful environment for creativity and play.

I am a physical therapist and aerial yoga instructor, so aerial yoga can be a part of your stay, if that is of interest to you: to join me in my practice and classes.

You will stay either in the "big" house or in the tiny cabin in the backyard, depending on AirBnB guests and your preference. 2 week stay up to 3 - 4 months. Email me and we'll look at compatibility and availability.

You are walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a bus route. Short 10 ... more inside

Located in the foothills of the Appalacian Mountains. Mostly wooded 40 acres with a beautiful stream and pond for swimming. Some land has been cleared for agriculture but this is more of a homesteading experience than strictly agricultural. In addition to gardening this is an opportunity to learn how to drive a tractor, harvest mushrooms, bake bread, use a chainsaw, paint a mural, build a house, help install a microhydro electrical system, cooking, canning and freezing, surveying, etc. etc. Your artistic contributions can also go toward covering room and board.

Facilities for visitors vary from; a room in a shared house, rustic living in a 19th century one room schoolhouse, an "A" frame tiny house or camping. Short term visitors are welcome with camping available and possible work for meals. Long term folks are asked to work 25 hours/week for room and meals. Total numbers of visitors at any one time will be in the 1 to 4 range. "Quickie" trial visits can be arranged.

We have now hosted HelpXers for several years and love meeting folks from all over the world! We are a small farm and are considered an agri-tourism destination as we have a "Healing Spring" on the property. Discovered in 1883 the water from the spring has many curative powers. The spring is available for free to anyone who wants to come and get the water.

We are near many great hiking destinations, Mt. Rogers, Grayson Highlands State Park, Stone Mountain, Doughton Park and the many trails off of the Blue Ridge Parkway that crosses through our part of the state of North Carolina. We are just off of the New River with fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Additionally, the Virginia Creeper Trail, Rocky Knob Park and the Railroad Grade trail offer great biking opportunities. We are 10 minutes from the town of West Jefferson with a great Farmers Market and cute town with artisan shops. We are just a short driving distance several larger cities.
