Now accepting for the remainder of 2020.

I bought an empty lot. I want to turn the property into a tiny house village.

I currently need help with lots of artwork, colors, and possibly design layouts. Anyone with wacky, creative or maybe even ridiculous ideas, I want you!!

In exchange for work once to 4 times a week, I can offer an infinite amount of housing and food. You will get a room to yourself, or if desired an extra lot to park your van/bus w an outdoor shower bathroom setup.

Parcel of land with a home in a quiet neighborhood 1 mile from the Indian River and tucked up by Turkey Creek Sanctuary that housed 3 families for a decade. Then, Life happened quickly, suddenly and on it's own terms. The house is empty, I no longer live on my 44' Hatteras Yacht and I only see my partner part time! WOW, 2020!

We have 2 small garden beds. I would love to have more! But, these are behind schedule. We have what started out to be catching and recycling water. It has been left semi abandoned, I would love to revive it! I have landscaping that started out as an idea of energy-saving, food producing or environmentally beneficial/native. It is more than 1 person can do and work full time!

The long term goal would be to have a self-sustaining property, full of food producing, water conserving, shade sitting space to relax, eat and enjoy life under the tree. And a spot that the bees, butterflies and local critters (on MY terms! :) ) can live and thrive!

Short term,... more inside

***Accepting folks during the Covid-19 pandemic as long as they have practiced proper precautionary practices(masks, sanitizer, social distancing, etc) & can drive to the farm.***

Our family has been in the Carolina low-country since the 1670s, and here on this property since 1827. The farm and family have seen many changes throughout the centuries, and is looking to the future!

An experimental and educational farm/homestead, we are working to bring a high level of self-sufficiency/sustainability here and to share our knowledge with our visitors.

This is the farm's 10th year hosting visitors. Forty-seven countries represented and over 400 guests staying, all have helped make the farm a better place. They have laughed, learned, sweated, plus they have help grow and have eaten some great food. We hope all that spend time here will take something positive away with them. Looking forward to another year of great helpers and guests!

We are open and have loads of renovation and farming projects underway! We are also seeking housekeepers - this is a paid position!

We are a small farm and are considered an agri-tourism destination as we have a "Healing Spring" on the property. Discovered in 1883 the water from the spring has many curative powers. The spring is available for free to anyone who wants to come and get the water.

We are near many great hiking destinations, Mt. Rogers, Grayson Highlands State Park, Stone Mountain, Doughton Park and the many trails off of the Blue Ridge Parkway that crosses through our part of the state of North Carolina. We are just off of the New River with fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Additionally, the Virginia Creeper Trail, Rocky Knob Park and the Railroad Grade trail offer great biking opportunities. We are 10 minutes from the town of West Jefferson with a great Farmers Market and cute town with artisan shops. We are just a short driving distance several larger cities.

I am looking for a creative, independent, pro active, enthusiastic, hard working, hard playing, adventurous, inquisitive male individual who would like to learn to raise specialty vegetables for restaurants, learn to forage, drive tractors, help me with different projects on the farm, live all things that happen on a working farm. There will be $$ for the right person.
If you think you would like to fill such a position, email me for further details about a possible stay.

A description of our Tennessee farm:

We have about 40 working acres on which we grow fruit and vegetables, raise animals and harvest hay.
We graze a small herd of Belted Galloway beef cows, a few guineas, peacocks and some heritage breed pigs.

The farm is in a beautiful valley near the Tennessee/Kentucky border with both state and national parks within a 30-45 minute drive. There are acres of land to explore to harvest some wild edibles, go fishing, hiking, caving. We have several springs that... more inside

***Looking for farm help with horses, 1 month minimum stay***

We work closely with a not for profit horse rescue farm, in Western North Carolina. We are looking for help with general farm maintenance, and upkeep. Duties will include grass cutting, weed eating, basic landscaping, fence repair, along with some horse care. Anyone here must love animals, be a non-smoker, a non-drug user and be very easy going. We are about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville and transportation is a must. Accommodations are an apartment with private bath, laundry, a mini kitchen and separate entrance. We would expect a HelpXer to work 20 hours a week independently and provide and prepare their own food. Hendersonville and the surrounding areas have wonderful places to explore. Pets are not an option as we have plenty already!

*** We are now hosting during Covid***
It is important that you know that Covid has impacted the New Orleans vibe.

She's still AMAZING if you're into taking in all of New Orleans beauty without the interference of the constant churn of all the visitors, PLUS we are entering the best season weatherwise.

You might want to wait a little longer if you're into partying, live music venues everywhere and the buzz of people everywhere, all the time.

If the former is your scene, read our profile and see if we might be a good fit!!

Hi! Welcome to our world of HelpX. We enjoy hosting couples or male visitors in our home to help out with various projects and tasks.

In exchange we will provide a comfortable place to stay, friendship and some meals.

Absolutely No pets/animals are allowed, but we have 2 super friendly cats (see their pic in the photo section). If you're allergic, or don't like cats, this might not be the best place for you.

I am laid back and love to meet and greet interesting guests as they travel and explore Peru. I have many different hobbies and would like to hear what crazy hobbies you might have. Looking forward to hosting you and having some fun!

Note to Guests

Hosts like us want to know who our guests are. We enjoy seeing people. Post a profile photo of yourself (not your dog or cat) and write a bit about yourself and who you are traveling with.

A novel of your life story isn't necessary; just write about what you think someone meeting you for the first time would want to know.

I answer 100% of messages and welcome your questions.

I am looking for 4 different kinds of helpers. If you have experience with any one of these that is fine. You don't need to have experience with all - just one. #1) Experience with salsa and/or bachata dancing. I'm currently in the process of becoming a professional dancer and if you have experience with this to help me with it that would be great.... more inside
