Hello Future HelpXers! My farm is on 40 acres that is ˝ wooded and ˝ pasture. There are a few cows and laying hens. It is situated on a hill and has a lovely pastoral view of the green mountains as well as mountains in Massachusetts.

My focus for 2020 WWOOFers is to have help with three campsites that I rent through Airbnb, Tentrr, and HipCamp. They are situated at the top of my property and have been very successful so far. They are busy from June – the end of October. All weekends tend to be booked for Friday and Saturday and most weeks have one or two nights during the week that will be booked. This year they have been busy most of the week. Here is the Airbnb website for each tent. Tent 1 and Tent 2 and the third is not up yet. I am currently building the last structure, glasshouse. I am hoping to find someone for July 28 - October but am flexible. If you would like to come before that and stay in a tent, you are welcome to do that. I could use help with the stru... more inside

Update- With a record number of visitors to Acadia National Park last year, we're anticipating a busy upcoming, spring, summer and fall '20 season! We're offering a $100/week stipend and basic accommodations/living amenities to an individual(or couple) interested in hospitality and light grounds maintenance.

In the past this arrangement has allowed caretakers time for part or full time work. Tasks are largely cleaning of the main cottage and performing minor necessary maintenance. There is excellent opportunity for seasonal employment with the National Park, adventure programs or dining establishments etc. within a few miles of the property. We've also prepared almost a half acre of garden space with organic soil enrichment.

Main description-

Our little slice of heaven is located just a few miles west of Acadia National Park, in downeast Maine. We're inviting visitors to enjoy our properties forested, quiet and private accommodations.

We live in a two-acre clearing in the foothills of the Green Mountains in Southern Vermont. Beautiful hiking trails weave through the mostly-hardwood forest passing by ponds and fields.

Our spacious sunny home is solar-powered and heated with firewood from our forest. We began the long-term project of clearing land and building the house in 2010. With the timber-frame house finished, we are now focusing on establishing raised bed vegetable gardens, a perennial herb garden, an "edible forest garden," and a small orchard of fruit trees. Permaculture principles guide the design and process.

Our family includes twin daughters and a golden retriever. We appreciate hosting volunteers who enjoy group work projects, shared meals, swimming in the pond, and singing around the campfire. Work projects include: tending vegetable gardens, splitting and stacking firewood, building compost bins, planting trees, making yogurt and sauerkraut, and clearing hiking trails.

We are a small hill sheep farm. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. In the Green Mountains of central Vermont, we rise early for daily feeding chores of our horses, sheep, and chickens, and then move on to other farm chores during the day such as skirting wool, making yogurt, selling at our local farmer’s market, or hand milking our ewes (in season).
We concentrate on producing hearty, disease and parasite resistant sheep, and on keeping them in a healthy and humane environment. Our flock is intentionally small so that we can know each of our “girls” personally. :)
We offer a room in our home (or a pullout couch if the room is taken) and all meals in exchange for about 4 hours of work a day. We are only a few miles from Vermont’s Long Trail, and from Bolton Valley ski area. We are also a short drive (15min) from Lake Champlain and Burlington, VT.
We are also members of other sites.
If you are interested in coming to help, I... more inside

We're former Michiganders creating a homestead in the woods focusing on permaculture and intentional community. Our prime values are authenticity, simplicity and spirituality. We seek both visiting helpers and long term co-farmers. We are seeking a resident farm manager with strong passion for farming and the ability and strength to work hard and lead other workers.

This year we are building two 12 x 20 cabins and are seeking help with construction. These are pre-cut kits out of Vermont and there will be good guidance for someone seeking to learn building skills.

We grow extensively in gardens and two greenhouses: one a geodesic dome the other utilizing a geothermal-like warming/cooling system. We grow organically, but not certified. We have chickens, ducks and rabbits, some years raise pigs and have plans for a milking/fiber animal addition. There are multiple orchards, fruit bushes & vines, nut trees and perennial veggies.

The homestead includes a huge root cellar, a nic... more inside

The farm is a diverse mix of organically produced vegetables, hemp and pasture raised animals. It is located in an area that is rich with local farms, breweries and food producers. The farm is located on the upper Lamiolle river and just 4 miles from beautiful Caspian Lake and Barr Hill Nature Perserve. Greensboro is the home of Jasper Hill Cellars, Hill Farmstead Brewery, Cirkus Simrkus, the Highland Center for the Arts and a whole lot more. We are 9 miles from Hardwick, dubbed the epicenter of the local food movement.

Our farm is located in the foothill of the Catskill mountain, about 2.5 hours north of NYC. There are many hiking trails, lakes and waterfalls around. We grow many varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers using natural farming method.
We need help in mulching, weeding, transplanting, watering, harvesting, food preservation, trail maintenance and light construction.
We practice meditation and yoga, follow a vegetarian diet. No onion, garlic, mushroom, alcohol or tobacco are allowed in the premises. We prefer helpers who have an interest in meditation and yoga; who like being early-risers; who are physically fit, not afraid of hard work; and who have an inner enjoyment of nature, solitude and silence.
