Update- With a record number of visitors to Acadia National Park last year, we're anticipating a busy upcoming, spring, summer and fall '19 season! We're offering a $100/week stipend and basic accommodations/living amenities to an individual(or couple) interested in hospitality and light grounds maintenance.

In the past this arrangement has allowed caretakers time for part or full time work. Tasks are largely cleaning of the main cottage and performing minor necessary maintenance. There is excellent opportunity for seasonal employment with the National Park, adventure programs or dining establishments etc. within a few miles of the property. We've also prepared almost a half acre of garden space with organic soil enrichment.

Main description-

Our little slice of heaven is located just a few miles west of Acadia National Park, in downeast Maine. We're inviting visitors to enjoy our properties forested, quiet and private accommodations. We... more inside

Stay at a lovely raised ranch situated on 0.8 acres outside of Albany. Close to public transportation, and has ample parking. We are in the process of converting the home into a solar/wood homestay. The wood stove and solar panels have been installed. A raised bed has been built, and various greens have been planted on the deck, as well as blueberries, red currants, white currants, black currants, bush cherries, and gooseberries.

Update June 2019: We have added four apple trees, two plum trees, some seaberries, rhubarb, horseradish, and two new varieties of gooseberry. We have also built fencing and bird netting to protect it from the deer, and acquired a dog. We installed an Air Source Heat Pump, so we can now heat and cool our house using our solar panels. The photo with the white fence shows the latest status of our property.

We are a 220 year old family farm switching over from organic soil growing to organic hydroponic greenhouse growing. We have one 3000 square ft greenhouse mostly completed and are finishing construction shortly on another 5000 square ft greenhouse. We are looking for help on all fronts, from landscaping, light construction, painting, planting, harvesting, jarring, etc. We have wild blueberry, blackberry and raspberry picking and eating in season on the property.
Our location is in Southern Maine, 75 miles North of Boston, 25 miles South of Portland and 10 miles from the coast and beaches.
There is a large farmhouse with spare bedrooms and bath and a rustic cottage for privacy also. We do have wi-fi.
We are striving for self-sustainability and are interested in anything that works for the planet and for those involved here.
I have lots more to say and hear from you if you are interested in an opportunity that could turn into a long term benefit for anyone involved.

We are a small hill sheep farm. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. In the Green Mountains of central Vermont, we rise early for daily feeding chores of our horses, sheep, and chickens, and then move on to other farm chores during the day such as skirting wool, making yogurt, selling at our local farmer’s market, or hand milking our ewes (in season).
We concentrate on producing hearty, disease and parasite resistant sheep, and on keeping them in a healthy and humane environment. Our flock is intentionally small so that we can know each of our “girls” personally. :)
We offer a room in our home (or a pullout couch if the room is taken) and all meals in exchange for about 4 hours of work a day. We are only a few miles from Vermont’s Long Trail, and from Bolton Valley ski area. We are also a short drive (15min) from Lake Champlain and Burlington, VT.
We are also members of other sites.
If you are interested in coming to help, I... more inside

We are a small family farm that focuses first and foremost on being stewards to a beautiful 45 acre piece of land (5 acres field, 40 acres forest) in Acton, Maine. 5 large lakes are within a few minutes driving distance, and our summer afternoons/siestas are typically enjoyed there on the canoe.

Magdalena is a massage therapist and natural medicine practitioner, Kurt is a former wilderness therapy instructor and crafty woodsman, Izzy is an energetic and eager-to-learn 3 year old, and Root is a wild and incredibly friendly terrier mix.

We have established several large garden beds that provide most of our food throughout summer and autumn, and are wanting to create more this spring. There is an abundance of wild medicinal plants on the property, which we use to make a variety of products like salves and tinctures. Meandering streams fill the forest edges and a pond with snow melt throughout early summer, and a plethora of trails make for a sweet scenery change.

Wild Earth is a 45-acre organic homestead in upstate New York. The land is varied and diverse with rolling meadows, a hardwood forest, swimming pond, small stream, and even an old family cemetery. There is a public beach two miles up the road and thousands of acres of state land for hiking just a short walk from the farm.

We are located in a quiet farming community about four hours north of NYC, close to Ithaca and the Finger Lakes, the Catskills, and the Adirondacks. Recently many Amish families have been moving into our area, revitalizing the area`s farms and businesses. The village of New Berlin is four miles away and has a post office, library, and an excellent cafe.

Your work exchange leaves many hours each day to pursue your own projects and goals. It`s very quiet and mellow here, perfect for artistic, self-entertaining Nature lovers.

We generally start work between 8 and 9 a.m and try to finish up well before lunch. Most days about 2-3 hours work exchange is all th... more inside

Spring stays are for the hardy, in an unheated space above the barn.Tasks:Spring cleaning inside and out and clean up some forest areas.
My daughter is a student and I work often as the town librarian. So we are often out and you would have time on your own. I need kitchen and common room help and this would supplement the limited outdoor tasks. You could include in your hours kitchen clean up and common room floor vacuuming. It would also round out the 3 hours a day I ask you to work. You may make your schedule.
We have two light carpentry projects in the works, which you may help on depending on where we are at with them. One is a woodshed and the other is installing a composting toilet room.

We heat with wood. The common space is warm, usually between 65 and 70 degrees. There are 2 couches, an ample table, a counter with stools and a comfy chair, so lots of room to hang out and work. I do have a 9 pm quiet and close the common room time. Most of us are up at 6 to get going ... more inside

I have a two family house about 10 minutes north of Boston by car. It's on the bus line, as well as a short walk to the subway. The work is some outside maintenance, some dog walking, some small painting projects, gardening, sewing, organizing, cleaning... I am seeking a helpxer or two. Mostly right now, it will be work outside, depending on the weather. lots of gardening. Creativity is welcomed, as I have approximately 32 art projects planned for this spring and summer. I’d like to build a pizza oven in my back yard, make birdhouses, and a large figure(maybe an insect) from repurposed/recycled materials. I also plan on clearing out my basement this summer and need help with that- it’s full of tools and ...stuff. Lots ‘o stuff.
I am a licensed mental health counselor and teacher, newly retired but still working part time. Also i’m newly vegan and experimenting with tasty recipes. My daughter is 30 and has boomeranged home a while ago.
