We are a small hill sheep farm. We raise high quality Icelandic Sheep for milk, meat, and wool, and we sell breeding stock. In the Green Mountains of central Vermont, we rise early for daily feeding chores of our horses, sheep, and chickens, and then move on to other farm chores during the day such as skirting wool, making yogurt, selling at our local farmer’s market, or hand milking our ewes (in season).
We concentrate on producing hearty, disease and parasite resistant sheep, and on keeping them in a healthy and humane environment. Our flock is intentionally small so that we can know each of our “girls” personally. :)
We offer a room in our home (or a pullout couch if the room is taken) and all meals in exchange for about 4 hours of work a day. We are only a few miles from Vermont’s Long Trail, and from Bolton Valley ski area. We are also a short drive (15min) from Lake Champlain and Burlington, VT.
If you are interested in coming to help, I have some more information to ... more inside

we’re offering guests hands on experience with alternative construction methods and organic gardening in addition to a variety of other projects throughout the summer and fall! We’re beginning the planting of our new, 400 square ft hoop house and visitors are enjoying the bounty of wonderful fruits, vegetables from our farm while gaining valuable experience in permacultural techniques.

We grow organic vegetables, fruit and timber for local markets in western MA. We currently use 5 acres for organic gardening and leave the vast majority(300 acres) forested while we let goats, chickens and pigs help control vegetation and insects. Our passion is to use permacultural methods which we can demonstrate to visitors in order that they may learn the skills to build healthy soil and implement sustainable farming practices – to help solve the farming crisis currently afflicting much of the world. We’re always open to creative ideas and the “why don’t we” input.

Greetings from our organic farming community, located forty five minutes north of Albany in the fertile Battenkill Valley. Our family warmly invites you to experience our unique life of friends and togetherness. We are situated on over one hundred acres of gently rolling hills and lush river bottom land. Growing a wide assortment of vegetables and medicinal herbs for a farm stand and our own community use, heritage breed poultry, milking a small herd of dairy goats and cows, raising sheep and donkeys, and maintaining the beautiful grounds of the estate keep us busy and open for new friends year round. In addition to the normal farm crew and volunteers, we also have a great time doing the "community day" in the field, with everyone coming out for one morning a week to join in the work and reward of getting our hands in the soil.
Guests are frequent all year and we would love to have you join us. Whether you come for a day or come to stay, our hearts and our farm will always have ... more inside

Hi
Thanks for your interest in coming to stay with us and taking the time to read all this! Sorry, it's a little long.. but I figured if you were thinking to pack up and move here for a while .. you'd want all this ...

We are nestled in the beautiful wood in the Hudson Highlands just off the Appalachian Trail on a dirt road just up from the Hudson River. If you love the woods, you’ll enjoy it here. We have lots of wild life, deer, coyote, bear, bobcats...We are somewhat “secluded”, well, surrounded by trees is more like it, but also in proximity to NYC. It is easy to get to NYC on the RR if you were ever in the mood. We have wonderful neighbors and a very cool community of creative and conscious people.
I am a therapeutic yoga teacher for over 25 years and have a small but very well equipped yoga studio on premises that I teach out of.
I also work internationally with a not-for-profit group called The Tracking Project that teaches nature awareness to youths and works to p... more inside
