Hello! This sustainable community is located in a small town of Sandwich in the lakes region of New Hampshire. We are completely surrounded by nature and backed against the White Mountain National Forest and a land conservation. We have tons of hiking around the property and a great swimming hole on the river just down the road. We are in a very quiet and remote place about 30 minutes from neighboring towns. Conway is one of the larger towns near by with lots of biking trails and good restaurant.

We are in the baby stages of developing an Intentional community for building a fully sustainable lifestyle. We are nature loving adventurers who love to play as hard as we work. We hike, canoe and kayak down the river, do arts, eat very healthy, and are all about the holistic way of living. We need some help building a few campsites and trail systems, basic help around the house and in the gardens, canning food, there is also a half finished tiny house that needs to be completed. We wo... more inside

We are on the North Fork of Long Island in Wine Country, about 2 hours east of Manhattan. The region has more than 40 vineyards, numerous small farms and an abundance of arts and crafts. This is also a high end resort area in the Summer, well known for its white sandy beaches, fine dining, boating and restaurants serving local farm produce, local seafood and local wine. The area is served by limited train service, but does have an express coach service to Manhattan (Google Hampton Jitney North Fork around $40 return trip), also there are ferries to Shelter Island and the Hamptons (around 30 minutes) and Connecticut (1 hour), or you can drive to the Hamptons on the South Fork in about 35 - 60 minutes depending on time of year. Boston is 3 or 4 hours by ferry and train.

British and Brooklyn in the house :-) We need flexible help to lighten our workload - we both wear multiple hats. Some paid jobs plus hobbies and voluntary work - including real estate and property management, web... more inside

I have a two family house about 10 minutes north of Boston by car. It's on the bus line, as well as a short walk to the subway. The work is some outside maintenance, some dog walking, some small painting projects, gardening, sewing, organizing, cleaning... I am seeking a helpxer or two. Mostly right now, it will be work outside, depending on the weather. lots of gardening. Creativity is welcomed, as I have approximately 32 art projects planned for this spring and summer. Id like to build a pizza oven in my back yard, make birdhouses, and a large figure(maybe an insect) from repurposed/recycled materials. I also plan on clearing out my basement this summer and need help with that- its full of tools and ...stuff. Lots o stuff.
I am a licensed mental health counselor and teacher, newly retired but still working part-time. Also, Im newly vegan(well, now as of June, really pescatarian & vegetarian) and experimenting with tasty recipes. My daughter is 30 and has boomera... more inside

Summer stays are for the hardy, in an unfinished space above the barn.Tasks:gardening , building, yard work, some inside cleaning, painting.
I work often as the town librarian. So we are often out and you would have time on your own. You may make your schedule.
We have 3 light carpentry projects in the works, which you may help on depending on where we are at with them. One is a woodshed, a tiny house and the other is installing a composting toilet room.

We heat with wood. The common space is warm, usually between 65 and 70 degrees. There are 2 couches, an ample table, a counter with stools and a comfy chair, so lots of room to hang out and work. I do have a 9 pm quiet and close the common room time. Most of us are up at 6 to get going for the day.
My small rural solar homestead is in the beautiful Monadnock region of New Hampshire. I have an extensive garden of herbs, flowers and vegetables, chickens, and a wood lot. I do teas, tinctures, balms and cordials with the herbs an... more inside

Update- With a record number of visitors to Acadia National Park last year, we're anticipating a busy upcoming, spring, summer and fall '19 season! We're offering a $100/week stipend and basic accommodations/living amenities to an individual(or couple) interested in hospitality and light grounds maintenance.

In the past this arrangement has allowed caretakers time for part or full time work. Tasks are largely cleaning of the main cottage and performing minor necessary maintenance. There is excellent opportunity for seasonal employment with the National Park, adventure programs or dining establishments etc. within a few miles of the property. We've also prepared almost a half acre of garden space with organic soil enrichment.

Main description-

Our little slice of heaven is located just a few miles west of Acadia National Park, in downeast Maine. We're inviting visitors to enjoy our properties forested, quiet and private accommodations. We... more inside

Openings for 2019 start June and go through the summer and perhaps into fall!

We live on beautiful land on top of a hill with great views.

What I am most looking for is help care-taking the house (cooking and cleaning) and land (mowing), as well as rides for my son and me in my car. This means independent workers with an eye for neatness to bring the grounds and home to order and maintain that order. Some tend to prefer indoor or outdoor work, and that is fine. Simply let me know where your passions lie.

In addition to basic house maintenance it is always lovely to meet up with people passionate about natural building as we flesh out and remodel the house:

This summer's projects will focus on:
* finishing putting up the cedar shingle siding on the addition
* finishing framing out the interior of the addition for a few walls and for the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry
* building a more luxurious composting toilet setup inside
* framing out the wall for the soon-to-... more inside
