I live on the family farm and run a B&B. I also bake pies and quiches for farmers markets throughout Central Vermont. The house was built in 1840 and the property has been in the family since the late 1700's. There is also an old barn and outbuildings. As such, there are always dozens of projects that need to be done with no time to do them. I have a flock of free-range chickens and a cat.

From jacking up buildings to cleaning, replacing broken window panes to baking quiches, if you would like to come to Vermont and help out, I can always find a project for you to do.

Right now I am looking for someone to sand and varnish floors as well as someone to help with baking, cooking and cleaning.

If you have a car or at least a US or International Driver's license there are lots of fun things to do in the area such as skiing, hiking, fishing, swimming, antiques, theater, festivals and farmers markets.

Winter stays are for shorter time frames and one person since work to do outdoors is limited. Right now: put the gardens to bed , move snow, burn brush piles and clean up some forest areas.
My daughter is a student and I work often as the town librarian. So we are often out and you would have time on your own. I need kitchen and common room help and this would supplement the limited outdoor tasks. You could include in your hours kitchen clean up and common room floor vacuuming. It would also round out the 3 hours a day I ask you to work. You may make your schedule.
We have two light carpentry projects in the works, which you may help on depending on where we are at with them. One is a woodshed and the other is installing a sink and a composting toilet room.

We heat with wood. So there very little heat in the rooms that are not in the one common room with the wood stove. The common space is warm, usually between 65 and 70 degrees. There are 2 couches, an ample table, a counter w... more inside

Hello Helpers!

Wild Earth Farm is a 45-acre organic homestead in upstate New York. The land is varied and diverse with rolling meadows, a hardwood forest, swimming pond, small stream, and even an old family cemetery. There is a public beach two miles up the road and thousands of acres of state land for hiking just a short walk from the farm.

We are located in a quiet farming community about four hours north of NYC, close to Ithaca and the Finger Lakes, the Catskills, and the Adirondacks. Recently many Amish families have been moving into our area, revitalizing the area`s farms and businesses. The village of New Berlin is four miles away and has a post office, library, and an excellent cafe.

Your work exchange leaves many hours each day to pursue your own projects and goals. It`s very quiet and mellow here, perfect for artistic, self-entertaining Nature lovers.

We generally start work between 8 and 9 a.m and try to finish up well... more inside

Hi!

We're working on an outdoor glamping / ecovillage experience by giving new life to an old orchard and farmhouse. Last year, with the help of volunteers, we built 4 platforms for our bell tents, built an outdoor kitchen, solar shower, composting toilets, and planted a huge garden!

This spring's projects will be a continuation of this... Mulching and seeding for a large permaculture style garden, building a chicken tractor, solving a grey water system, building onto the outdoor kitchen, setting up tents, and caring for the orchard property. There is a New England barn that will get renovated into a yoga & art studio also! Current position is open starting APRIL 15th - MAY 15th. We would like to host in 1-2 week intervals.

Skills & interests can range from outdoor building, permaculture, landscaping, decorating, art & photography, cooking, solar energy and composting. Manual labor will definitely be involved! We work hard during the days, and help cook and enjoy mea... more inside

Update- We've had a great season renting various parts of the property through Hip camp and Airbnb. With a record number of visitors to Acadia NP in '18, we're anticipating a busy upcoming, spring, summer and fall '19 season! We're offering a $100/week stipend and parking accommodations/living amenities to a motivated and polite individual(or couple) interested in hospitality and light grounds maintenance for at least 2 months between May 1-November 15.

The tasks will amount to around 10 hours per week allowing for a part or full time job off the premises. Tasks are largely cleaning of the main cottage and performing minor necessary maintenance. There is excellent opportunity for seasonal employment with the National Park, adventure programs or dining establishments in the area.

The yurt will be rented as much as is reasonably possible while still allowing you at least 1 night per week to use its kitchen, running water, and tub.

I have a two family house about 10 minutes north of Boston by car. It's on the bus line, as well as a short walk to the subway. The work is some outside maintenance, some dog walking, some small painting projects, gardening, sewing, organizing, cleaning... I am seeking a helpxer or two. Mostly right now, it's inside work or maybe outside, depending on the weather. Creativity is welcomed. I am a licensed mental health counselor and teacher, inching along toward retirement. My daughter is 30 and has boomeranged home a few months ago.

Greetings from our organic farming community, located forty five minutes north of Albany in the fertile Battenkill Valley. Our family warmly invites you to experience our unique life of friends and togetherness. We are situated on over one hundred acres of gently rolling hills and lush river bottom land. Growing a wide assortment of vegetables and medicinal herbs for a farm stand and our own community use, heritage breed poultry, milking a small herd of dairy goats and cows, raising sheep and donkeys, and maintaining the beautiful grounds of the estate keep us busy and open for new friends year round. In addition to the normal farm crew and volunteers, we also have a great time doing the "community day" in the field, with everyone coming out for one morning a week to join in the work and reward of getting our hands in the soil.
Guests are frequent all year and we would love to have you join us. Whether you come for a day or come to stay, our hearts and our farm will always have ro... more inside

Openings for 2019 start June and go through the summer and perhaps into fall!

We live on beautiful land on top of a hill with great views.

What I am most looking for is help care-taking the house (cooking and cleaning) and land (mowing), as well as rides for my son and me in my car. This means independent workers with an eye for neatness to bring the grounds and home to order and maintain that order. Some tend to prefer indoor or outdoor work, and that is fine. Simply let me know where your passions lie.

In addition to basic house maintenance it is always lovely to meet up with people passionate about natural building as we flesh out and remodel the house:

This summer's projects will focus on:
* finishing putting up the cedar shingle siding on the addition
* finishing framing out the interior of the addition for a few walls and for the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry
* building a more luxurious composting toilet setup inside
* framing out the wall for the soon-to-... more inside
