Hey all you fantastic volunteers out there.

We are building up a guesthouse and restaurant from the leftovers of an old resort and would love some help with gardening, cleaning, reception, cooking, painting, web design/pr and other odd jobs.

We are Patrick and Mads.
Mads is a Danish Chef who is finally staying in one place now after traveling for several years. Just so you know, I'm the most chill chef around.
As a former traveller using helpx to aid my travels I now some of the concerns you might have with volunteering somewhere so please ask any random question you might have and I'll answer the best I can.
I met Patrick first as a volunteer and we both saw an opportunity in the place we want to build up now and started working together, he's a great host by the way.

Patrick is a Swiss guy who's been in Paraty for 4 years running the Happy Hammock hostel.

Most of the work is physical, working in a jungle environment, so you should preferably be comfortable with r... more inside

We are an independent patchwork family from many countries living together in the Brazilian jungle (Zietto Fabio (34), Papa Leo (39), Mama Saskia (30), Little Luan (2) & always many friends )We love to share with our friends & family to celebrate life & mother earth.

Our land is situated close to the national park „Conduru“, Serra Grande, Ilheus, Bahia. The coast (Serra Grande) is a quarter hour car ride away and a surfer’s paradise. The park is rich in sparkling waterfalls and native wildlife. The area is called “Aguas Claras”, and our farm “Boa Vista”. By the name you can already picture the beautiful view into the jungle we have and our richness in water. A river is passing our land that sources a pond (“represa”) for swimming. The whole land is 22 hectares, from which 12 hectares are protected wild area. This invites for jungle walks! The fazenda used to be a pure cacao farm with some fruits trees (coco, mango, avocado, banana… to name but a few). However, since we bought th... more inside

Located right next to the famous Três Picos, we offer volunteer work in the ideal setting.

We offer a range of options for volunteers, both in the short and long term with varying hours of work during the week. You will spend your week here learning and contributing to our services, and the weekend is yours to relax and explore Brazil. A retreat located in a mountainous region (at 1400m) in Minas Gerais, about 100km from Sao Paulo (SP). The retreat is an ecumenical place that receives people interested in experiencing an alternative lifestyle, both physically and spiritually.

There are two meditations every day at the temple, and we expect everyone to participate. We offer four meals a day in the dining area. We have an organic garden and an orchard. We hope to receive people with experiences in these areas, but in general, we just need help with maintaining the place, taking care of the organic garden, preparing food, chopping firewood and feed the animals (cats, dogs, and horses).

We need 5 hours per day, 6 times a week. We offer free acomodation and all the meals. The minimum stay is 3 weeks, to maximum of 2 months.

Permaculture-Self sustainable Farm Living
(Caju and Ann-Kathrin)
We are a multi cultural family, Brazilian and German-Canadian. We are in our early forties and have three kids aged 19, 16, and 12.
Four years ago we drove our car from Canada to Brazil and worked on different farms along the way thru the helpx program. We learned and exchanged ideas about Permaculture and self sustainability. After we arrived in Brazil and bought land we decided to become hosts for the helpx program due to our positive experience.
Our farm is situated in a Natural Reserve area called Bananal, located 18 Km away from the beaches of Perube - SP.
Here we have begun our project. Using the idea behind observing and working with what is natural and unique to this landscape we are learning to grow local plants and fruit trees, as well as understand the forestation of the area, to best work with the land to support us and our animals.

Currently we are growing orchards of multi... more inside

Who and where:
I am Marcio, portuguese-swiss guy 37, living in a beautiful farm of 10hectares based on organic principles located on a piece of remained native Atlantic rainforest from the state of Pernambuco in Ipojuca. The farm is located at 35km away from the most beautiful beach of Brazil, Porto de Galinhas and 48km from Recife, Marco zero. I’m an autodidact person, hardworking curious by nature, which means that I’m very open-minded. Here I share my two passions forest and farming during week and beach and surfing on weekends. I have a dog and a few chickens.
This project started almost 2 years ago inspired by the incredible work of an other swiss guy Ernst Götsch, the lack of access to clean good food, the need to create a job and the desire to bring natural farming practices to the land, rather than conventional farming with toxic chemicals mainly mono cropping such as sugar cane around here.

What I do and how:
The land is old abandoned area still recovering from the s... more inside

We run an ranch located in the middle of the beautiful Pantanal, the largest wetland area of the world, with incredible nature and wildlife.

We take care of the goats, sheep and cows and train our young horses. Your daily tasks at the fazenda will depend on your skills and interests and vary per day, as does the workload. You will work together with our permanent staff that manages the fazenda, real Pantanal cowboys.
At the ranch the permanent staff only speaks Portuguese (basic Portuguese or Spanish is required but it is a good place to improve the your language skills).

We have a hammock and camping site called Xaraes Natura located about 1,5 km from the ranch where we receive guests. Sporadically we would appreciatte some help at this place as cleaning and guests attendance.

I (Olivia) live at the ranch but most of the time staying at the house with my child.

This 14-hectare farm is located in a protected area in the Atlantic Forest in Southern Brazil, between the towns of Joinville and Campo Alegre. This was once a dairy farm. Since 2015, I (Alexandre, 33) have been living there, trying to repurpose the farm by initiating the production of organic food, aligned with the principles of agroecology. I am also promoting the reforestation of degraded areas using native species.
Volunteers are welcome to stay at the farm in a spacious wooden-house where I currently live with my companion, Larissa who has been living here since last 2019. Rooms can also be rented for turists by airbnb.
Volunteers can engage in different activities, including (1) the production of honey (beehive maintenance, wax extraction, among other tasks not directly involved with bee handling); (2) the production of shiitake mushrooms (inoculation and incubation); (3) the renovation and organization of the farm house; and (4) gardening/horticulture. Besides, they can al... more inside

Recently acquired property where I live and have made the first steps in establishing an agroforestry system.
Looking for volunteers with lots of motivation to work hard in order to reforest one of the most devastated tropical rainforests in the world.
Work now is spread between (bio)construction of living facilities and planting. If you would like to learn how to establish a permaculture space almost from scratch, or are itching to share discoveries and the pleasure of learning from nature, you are welcome!
In the afternoons we can enjoy swimming in the lake, visiting nearby waterfalls, doing (acro)yoga, meditating etc.
We will share the house but have separate bedrooms.
