URGENT REQUIREMENT FOR ANIMAL LOVING PEOPLE WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES. We are especially looking for vets/vet nurses/animal welfare workers.

Cool, characterful, wooden house with lovely sea views available on the small and beautiful island of Mayreau, Southern Grenadines, St Vincent, West Indies.

This is a great opportunity to live in self-contained free accommodation and sample the "old time Caribbean" on a very friendly, unspoilt island (population 270), in return for looking after our own 4 rescue dogs and rescue kitty, including beach walks on a daily basis for dogs belonging to a neighbouring family, who are otherwise chained 24/7. We also ask our helpers to look out for and assist in the welfare of the other island animals. We encourage our helpxers to engage with the local people and children with regard to animal welfare issues.

The house has a balcony overlooking the Tobago Cays, an upstairs gallery with a double bed, and ... more inside

We're a backpacker hostel in the beautiful and wild beach of Playa El Valle (north coast of DR). We're working from 1 year ago and we're loving to get some volunteers to help us with our hostel.
Normally we prefer volunteers that stay more than 1 month.

Living an eco-friendly lifestyle utilizing solar power, collecting rain water and eating from the land.
We are an educated Dominican couple travelling between Dominica in the Caribbean and Toronto Canada to work on our property.
Our home is one mile from the coast into the forest. We live on one part of the property while we work on another property further back into the forest.
Work includes clearing land, planting and harvesting tropical fruits, vegetables and herbs also building cottages. It is an opportunity for learning lots about agriculture in the Caribbean, how to live an eco-friendly lifestyle and enjoy paradise. WiFi available in village about 10 min walk.
Work in exchange for food and accommodation. Food is delicious and fresh. Accommodation depends on when you arrive.Tents always welcome.

Update, March 2020
The couple at my place have decided to leave (happy to be able to say that it is not because of the house or what they had to do! :) )

So I am once again offering my home to an honest, friendly, non-smoking person/couple who will look after my home, enjoy the fruits of the earth, as well as enjoy putting some work into the garden and willing to stay for a couple of months (a week or two is really too short, sorry) If that sounds like you, then I would be happy to hear from you.

Blessings, sunny greetings and smiles :) :)

Thank you to all you wonderful people who responded to my request. Would so love to invite you all to stay and visit Dominica; however I have a couple staying at the house for now.
Wishing you all abundant blessings
Valina

Anyone out there wanting to visit Dominica? No, not the Dominican Republic; the little island between Guadeloupe and Martinique (which was hit by hurricane Maria 2 years ago!) yes, that's the place.

Richard and I have been involved in tourism in our country for many years in various capacities. At the moment we are tour operators and we also offer our home as a homestay opportunity for international travelers who would like to experience the real Jamaica! Our very modest family home is comfortable and warm, where you will have your own private room and shared bathroom. You will have access to the kitchen and common areas. If you are a smoker, smoking is done in the garden. We are inviting someone who can teach us Forex Trading and social media advertising from the comfort of our home. Accommodation is free but you will provide your own meals.
We are requesting 4 hours per day for 4 day per week. If this request interest you then we are anxiously awaiting your response.

Looking forward to this adventure!

ROOTS FARM, DOMINICA, WORK EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITY

Not certified but using organic standards, on Sept. 17, 2017, Roots Farm was growing diverse fruits, roots, vegetables and herbs at two lovely mountainside locations in Cochrane, Dominica for predominantly retail sales within Dominica. After a decade and a half of investment --mostly 80 hour weeks and all of our savings -- and despite severe setbacks from 2015 TS Erica landslides, the farm’s future finally looked bright and right around the corner. The fruit trees were poised for their first commercially successful year (avocados in Oct., citrus Nov-March, cocoa, soursop, sugar apple, mangosteen, pineapples and many more varieties at their respective natural times throughout the year). Large plantings of root crops (yams, dasheen, tannias) looked good for Dec-Feb. harvest and sales. Vegetables and herbs were still in the ground, but were to be phased out in favor of the incoming fruit and root crops.

Then, Sept. 18, 2017, Categor... more inside

We are in the beginning stages of creating organically grown vegetable gardens, but we do have some well established fruit trees on the property.

Our aim is to create gardens to sustain the residents of Sacred Tree Traditions and to supply the raw ingredients for our home based products business. As well, one of our projects is to create an outdoor beautiful space shaded flower garden photo studio on the property.

We are interested in hosting anyone interested in creating and maintaining gardens. This will including creating organic compost heaps, weeding, watering, soil tilling, harvesting fruits and vegetables, as well as taking care of our chickens (4 laying hens).... more inside

Puerto Rico is in the Caribbean, surrounded by sea water and very limited resources. Since 2011, we manage an agricultural, educational and community project in the town of Lares, the Proyecto Agroecológico Campesino/PAC. Our mission has been to produce food in a sustainable way, facilitate a practical learning space and share knowledge with the community. For this we work in the transformation of five acres, historically
exploited with agrochemicals for the cultivation of coffee and citrus fruits, in an integral farm where combines crop production, animal husbandry, resource management, restoration
of soil and ecosystems, inspired by the agroecological principles. These tasks have
been accompanied by self-training programs and workshops for small producers of the
region, practical student visits, open farms and support brigades between producers. We invite you to join us on our every day challenge to build a sustainable farm while we share knowledge and experiences. Our home can... more inside

My property is sitting on 4 acres of garden and is very peaceful. We have an organic, and semi organic garden, bordered by a river and two ravines and is situated in the middle of section 5 of the Dominica's Waitukubuli trail. We are 45mins from the capital Roseau and a mile and a half from the village of Castle Bruce. To get to the sea is a healthy 25 minutes walk. Wireless access to the internet is available if you bring your laptop/ipad/phone.

Take a 6-10 minute bus ride to the Emerald Pool, which is one of Dominica's most photogenic destination. Only 15-20 mins in the other direction is the kalinago territory which is most commonly known as the Carib Territory and is well known for their basketry skills, that have been passed down through the generations.

This is truly a nature paradise for every level of hikers. Waitukubuli National trail is the only long distance trail in the entire Caribbean consisting of 14 segments ranging in difficulty. The entire distance is 115 m... more inside
