Living with a Costarican family
Located south of Puriscal County, our small town of Mastatal borders La Cangreja National Park. Our farm, strives to build and produce necessities in harmony with the earth while helping both the local community and our visitors live in a sustainable manner.
Marcos and Jenny are the managers from Finca Siempre Verde. A young couple with a big knowledge and love for nature wil show you the real Pura Vida in our country .

Volunteers will participate in both construction and farming projects, and have the opportunity to help care for animals as well.

Previous building projects include a cob ovien, composting toilets, open air showers and tool shed renovation. Presently we are working on a new composting toilet and shower area next to the volunteer lodge.

We also have an art day every week for people to do creative projects and use some of the skills volunteers may have to produce beautiful art around the farm.

We are a local Costa Rican family living on a small organic farm. We are in the process of creating a sustainable living susituation by utilizing permaculture techniques, protecting the forrest that surrounds us, and participating in our local economy.

10 acres are dedicated to chemical-free agriculture demonstrating functioning agroforestry and permaculture. Water is plentiful here, thanks to abundant rainfall and the waterfalls of the property. The soil is diverse while rich in minerals is also fairly acidic.
Over the past several years, we are recovering this soil by regularly hand tilling the earth and fertilizing with rich compost produced onsite, including companion plants, and a mixture we make from microorganisms gathered in the forest. We are beyond organic; we are chemical free. Our dedication to chemical-free agriculture extends to our fruits and vegetables. The seeds give birth to a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, spices and medicinal plants. and more.

We are a family owned lodge located 2.7 kilometers south of the magnificent Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. We have 48 rooms and 2 private villas from which our guests can enjoy the 352-hectare property and 11 kilometers of on-site hiking, horseback ridings, and biking trails.

Our property offers the closest point from which to view the volcano and is the only hotel that is located within the borders of the Arenal Volcano National Park. The 352-hectare property is comprised of roughly 25% primary rainforest, 25% agricultural farmland, and 50% secondary rainforest.

We are seeking 1-2 highly motivated individuals to help us in the areas of maintenance, landscaping, and/or customer service. We are also seeking a yoga teacher to offer classes to our clients and/or an English second language teacher to offer classes to our employees. The ideal candidate would be fluent in English or Spanish and willing to work in a remote environment with sometimes challenging conditions. Fluency i... more inside

We are located right at the border of Corcovado National Park in the Osa peninsula of Costa Rica. It is a 61 hectare, 150 acre property, in the Golfo Dulce forest reserve. We've created an extensive, self-guided trail system, that you are encouraged to enjoy as you wish. We offer the opportunity to stay right in the rainforest. If you want to be immersed in nature, this is the place to do it! The lodge itself is 1/2 hour away from the small town of Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre.
We, Ron and Val, have owned the property for 13 years, and have been running the hostel for the past 10. The inspiration came during our own travels through Central America. We searched for places like this, where we could stay overnight as close as possible to nature, but couldn't find it. So, basically we decided to create our own slice of paradise. Ron spends most of his time up at the hostel, and val is generally stationed at the office.

We are looking for volunteers for our art collective and organic farm in Orosi, 25mins from Cartago, where we are building earthships and yurts, buildings made from recycled materials. We would like creative, self-motivated volunteers to join us, and help build or farm.

The project is in the early stages so conditions are basic, but our ultimate goal is to create a bartering community along the lines of "Burning Man" "Black Rock City". It is free for volunteers to camp at on the farm. At the moment we club together to buy food from town and cook communally, though eventually the farm will provide food for volunteers.

The project has been growing little by little over the last few years. Frank the owner is the founder of this project who is building his house while at the same time helping other volunteers on their projects.

Although rainy season is approaching,it's usually ddry in the mornings and we can still get lots done through May, June and July.

Please read our listing and note the dates before responding!

No smoking, no drugs, no pets. Couple preferred. One child welcome.

We have some interior painting to be done, some fixing of screens, cleaning of small rental homes between guests...although none are scheduled right now. Could happen. Someone with carpentry skills would be very welcome, as we need to replace a few window frames now that the rains have tapered off. Neither yoga teaching nor massage skills are essential on a finca, so please have something else to offer.

Our finca is a 15 hectare mixed-use farm in the low mountains on the western edge of the Central Plateau. Most of the farm is habitat, with small areas of organic crops...corn, beans, fruits, coffee...and a main house with 3 smaller rental houses. The smaller houses are usually rented to couples escaping the Frozen North and graduate students and staff at the nearby University for Peace.

The work is basically helping with day-to-day ... more inside
