The Hostel is located in the center of Liberia City, but at the same time is very close to the Volcano, National Parks, plenty of beaches, beautiful waterfalls, adventure parks, zoos.

The closest beaches are only 35 minutes away from our hostel, Coco beach, Hermosa, Jaco and many others... the volcano and national park is only 20 minutes away from the hostel, the beautiful waterfalls are only 15 minutes away from our hostel, not to mention that the Liberia airport is only 12 minutes away from where our hostel is located, the public bus station, as well, is only 400 meters away from where our hostel is.Like I said Liberia is a place that is very connected with the nature.

It is a beautiful Hostel with tall rooftops, wooden made. Surrounded by beautiful trees that provide a lot of shadow and fresh air to the area, it has a nice backyard, where you can find animals such as iguanas, birds, butterflies, squirrels and many other. It is a calm and relax environment, nevertheless, th... more inside

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica

Hello everyone!

What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 7 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us!

Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have 16 rescue dogs, a chicken, a goat, two pigs, a horse and three cats. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are “lifers” on the farm.

The property (roughly 3.5 hectares) is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, ciamito, lime, coffee and araza. We also put in plant beds with... more inside

We are in the process of becoming a sustainable farm and community in the cool tropical mountains of Costa Rica. Our mountain top working coffee and banana farm has year round cool climate, views, fruits, wildlife and waterfalls. The longer you will stay the more you will learn. We have various positions volunteers can fill depending on experiences and skills. Everything including building projects, permaculture, energy, gardening, animal care, cooking and even computer work.

We currently have a large 6 bedroom house of which we rent out bedrooms to paying guests on airbnb but we still have need for working visitors or volunteers that can commit to longer time periods.

Our farm consists of a coffee/banana plantation, various fruit trees, pasture, forest, various breeds of chickens, guinea hens, ducks, chickens, sheep, goats and a few horses. Everyday you can see toucans, 100s of bird species and sloths among the trees.

We have several professional local workers that he... more inside

We are on the move! We have moved our horses, dogs, parrots and cats with us to a beautiful place just 2 km from our favorite beaches on the Caribbean coast.
As a certified Yoga instructor, certified Metaphsyical Energy healer, horse rider & trainer, Jin Shin Jyutsu practicioner and also interested in many other fields, I have a passion for horses, healing & yoga, and they work in perfect harmony together. Which is why I have created retreats just for this. Yoga with horses and Healing with horses. Its an amazing experience to live with these wonderful spirits, such as the horse.
We now live up in the mountains, in the pure jungle, surrounded by monkeys, toucans, parrots, owls, eagles, wild cats and oh so much more. Peaceful yet full of life. Only a 30 minute walk, 15 minute bike ride or 7 minute car ride and we are on the beach near the little local villages of Cocles, Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo. Here everything is to the beat of Reggae and Calypso, where surfers, artists both l... more inside

Get experience in running a hostel and learn about the Costa Rican life and culture.

Our guests are a mix of backpackers and more upscale travelers, old and young who all have one thing in common: they love outdoor adventures.

We are located in Turrialba, which is still a very authentic Costarican town and the gateway for white water rafting and kayakking.

We are looking for help with the day to day running of the hostel,a self-motivated, sociable and responsible person that likes to interact with travelers from all over the world. Preferably you are 25 yrs or older. You will be working independently, checking in and out guests, taking reservations by phone, providing information on all the activities in the area and socializing with guests.

As a volunteer you will learn about Costarican culture. You will also have the opportunity to get invited by our local guides to join them on their tours for free, like white water rafting, rappelling down thermal waterfalls, hik... more inside

We are a local Costa Rican family living on a small organic farm. We are in the process of creating a sustainable living susituation by utilizing permaculture techniques, protecting the forrest that surrounds us, and participating in our local economy.

10 acres are dedicated to chemical-free agriculture demonstrating functioning agroforestry and permaculture. Water is plentiful here, thanks to abundant rainfall and the waterfalls of the property. The soil is diverse while rich in minerals is also fairly acidic.
Over the past several years, we are recovering this soil by regularly hand tilling the earth and fertilizing with rich compost produced onsite, including companion plants, and a mixture we make from microorganisms gathered in the forest. We are beyond organic; we are chemical free. Our dedication to chemical-free agriculture extends to our fruits and vegetables. The seeds give birth to a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, spices and medicinal plants. and more.

Greetings!
(This is an opportunity for 1 person only please;)
8 km north of Sámara near a small village (pop 150) called Esterones, my property sits on a hill in the jungle about 12 minutes walk from that village. You will find a small supermarket, a restaurant and a tiny hardware store(they don't have WIFI;). Walk a bit further and you will find 3 world class beaches. It's about an hour walk to Sámara. The closest bus stop is about 45min walk with only occasional service but ‘hitchhiking’ is perfectly normal mode of transportation here. This is a chance to get to know a special part of Costa Rica, I've been in love with this area and its people for almost 20 years. I've also been a helper for the past 10 years in Peru, Italy, Japan, Australia, France, Portugal, Kenya, Ireland...and I dig it!
I work my land from Nov-Feb and May-July. I travel the rest of the time.
I have a small plot of land, 10.900mt2, but I only cultivate about a fifth of it and the rest is natural jungle wit... more inside

Our farm is located in a beautiful town. We cultivate coffee and raise cows. We also produce vegetables with organic fertilizers. Our farm is surrounded by the beautiful nature that identifies our country.
Currently, we are working together with another family, so you are going to visit two farms but with similar activities.
We are creating new projects every year, so we need help during every single month.
