Location

In 2008, we had a vision of transforming a run-down farmhouse and 15-hectares (38-acres) of over-exploited farmland into a world apart from mainstream culture, where people could grow, heal, live sustainably and regenerate the land while living in community.

Rhiannon sits on the edge of a plateau with 360-degree views; clouds roll over snow-capped volcanoes and the sunsets still take our breath away! The sun can be hot, the wind can be fierce and the nights can be chilly – but with strong motivation, a wood-burning stove and good company, it’s a great way to embrace the elements!

Activities

The activities we offer and engage with are based on our 5 core values:

* Live & Work in Community *

We aim to create an inclusive environment where like-minded people from around the world can build lasting relationships. Families with children and people from minority groups (often LGBT) are ... more inside

Hello!

We are seeking volunteers to help out with horses and general farm work such as land clearing, planting crops, watering plants and animal feeding. Preference goes to groups of two or three because the work with the horses is difficult to do with just one person, such as catching them in from the mountains!

We own an organic farm and horse tour business in the countryside on the coast of Ecuador, 8 km away from the beach. There are 18 horses. Some are youngsters, others broodmares, but the majority are riding horses. Our tours involve a lot of beach riding and also into the hills where there is a lot of wildlife; monkeys, lizards and birds. Dogs are a huge part of our life; we currently have 16 although this number varies with the number of rescue dogs and puppies.

Essential attributes:
• Happy, positive person who respects animals.
• Very experienced with horses if you are wanting to work with them. This is not a position for learners. You need to be an excell... more inside

I fell in love with beautiful Mompiche, moved here and started to build my dream house. It is a five-story bamboo house, built like a wedding cake. The top floor has a spectacular 360-degree view, with views from the shower and the toilet too!
Mompiche is a quaint fishing village with a pristine 40-mile crescent moon bay. From October to April there are world-class waves, attracting surfers from around the world. It is surrounded by jungle with monkeys and tons of birds, including toucans and parrots.
I am a masseuse from Esselen, Big Sur, California with 40 years of experience.
Chocolate making, basket weaving, and coconut cracking classes are available. Tours of the jungle and yoga can be arranged. You can explore the incredible surrounding area on foot or in kayaks, on horseback, or on a motorboat.

I am charging $10 a week for bottled water and a bed in my dream house. I offer 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners for $30. I only ask for 15 hours of work a week. By the way I am a ver... more inside

Greetings,

We have a fun and eclectic guesthouse directly on the beach in Santa Marianita. We are located 20 minutes I south of Manta. Santa Marianita beach is long, sandy and safe to walk day or night. This is not a party beach and is very quiet on weekdays. Weekends and holidays can be noisy. It is well known for kite surfing.

Our volunteers are asked to help 5 hours, 5 days per week with two days each week off to explore and enjoy this wonderful area in Ecuador. We prefer a commitment of one month or longer. We also now are looking for artist and/or handcraft talent individuals. Duties include cleaning, helping in the cafe, caring for cats and dogs, helping with light maintenance, greeting and assisting guests with their luggage, painting, and various improvement projects.

We are seeking mature, outgoing, energetic, low drama and drug-free volunteers who love animals, are ready to work hard with a smile and have fun meeting people from all over the world. ... more inside

This exchange is for help with land maintenance on a small rural homestead. Weeding and weed-whacking, permaculture and gardening projects (building trellises, raised garden beds, terracing, water-works, building new paths, and open to new ideas), occasional harvesting, picking and processing coffee beans, composting, pest-control, bee-keeping, planting, mulching, watering, landscaping, eco-construction and some manual labor such as digging, rock-work, etc. Temperatures are comfortable year-round. We have 2 options for work-trade/lodging. You want to get to know the East Part (Amazonia) of Ecuador and not just for a short trip? You would like to live the daily live with a kichwan family? Then you are very welcome and we´d be happy to have you here in our family.

** There are several large projects that the family needs help with right now, such as building a traditional style house in the jungle on a beautiful piece of property with two small waterfalls. The family would prefer volunteers who can stay for one week or longer, preferably a month. To help the family, volunteers must pay 3 dollars a day for sleeping in Tena s house.
Our family lives in Tena but we also have a farm in the jungle, about 40 mn from the city...
There, you will learn how to live like local people. We will teach you how to cook with traditional food and also about plants that we can eat and medicinal plants from the forest.

You will also help with typical work such as harvesting corn, banana, yuca or sugar cane and other... more inside
