We are startíng a small guest house complex directly on the beach in Engabao, a fishing and surfing town located 15 km from Playas and 1 hour from Guayaquil. The guesthouse consists of furnished 1 and 2 bedroom suites with completely equipped kitchens, hot water and DirectTV. There is a pool and gazebo overlooking the ocean. At present help is mainly needed with construction, painting, landscaping and out door cleaning, while from Dec. to May there may be housekeeping, attending guests, and caring for plants. Helpers work for 4 hours a day with 2 days off midweek and live in one of the suites. They are responsible for preparing their own meals. There's plenty of time for lounging around the pool, enjoying the beach or surfing. We need people who can work without supervision and enjoy nature. We are on a beautiful out of the way beach which generally has tourists only on holidays.

You want to get to know the East Part (Amazonia) of Ecuador and not just for a short trip? You would like to live the daily live with a kichwan family? Then you are very welcome and we´d be happy to have you here in our family.

** There are several large projects that the family needs help with right now, such as building a traditional style house in the jungle on a beautiful piece of property with two small waterfalls. The family would prefer volunteers who can stay for one week or longer, preferably a month. To help the family, volunteers must pay 3 dollars a day for sleeping in Tena s house.
Our family lives in Tena but we also have a farm in the jungle, about 40 mn from the city...
There, you will learn how to live like local people. We will teach you how to cook with traditional food and also about plants that we can eat and medicinal plants from the forest.

You will also help with typical work such as harvesting corn, banana, yuca or sugar cane and other... more inside

My name is Jose Cajas I live with my family in Iluman at the foot of the volcano Imbabura, Otavalo. It is an indigenous villiage. I have five children and pets such as dogs and cats. We also have chickens, cows and guinea pigs which are used for food. We live in harmony with nature, and cultivate ancestoral crops such as maize, beans, etc. and ovillas.

I am currently building a cabin on my land. We are building the cabin out of natural and locally sourced materials. There are no other cabins in this region now, so it is a great opportunity to live with an Indigenous family and understand more of our culture and way of life.

We need help with wood construction, placing stones for paths, painting, or any other way in which you can help. You do not need qualifications or specific skills though, any aid will help us a lot. We do need help with the construction, but more than this, we want to talk to you, and learn from you.

We really want to share our culture and also learn ab... more inside

I fell in love with beautiful Mompiche, moved here and started to build my dream house. It is a five-story bamboo house, built like a wedding cake. The top floor has a spectacular 360-degree view, with views from the shower and the toilet too!
Mompiche is a quaint fishing village with a pristine 40-mile crescent moon bay. From October to April there are world-class waves, attracting surfers from around the world. It is surrounded by jungle with monkeys and tons of birds, including toucans and parrots.
I am a masseuse from Esselen, Big Sur, California with 40 years of experience.
Chocolate making, basket weaving, and coconut cracking classes are available. Tours of the jungle and yoga can be arranged. You can explore the incredible surrounding area on foot or in kayaks, on horseback, or on a motorboat.

I am charging $10 a week for bottled water and a bed in my dream house. I offer 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners for $30. I only ask for 15 hours of work a week. By the way I am a ver... more inside

Hello!

We are seeking volunteers to help out with horses and general farm work such as land clearing, planting crops, watering plants and animal feeding. Preference goes to groups of two or three because the work with the horses is difficult to do with just one person, such as catching them in from the mountains!

We own an organic farm and horse tour business in the countryside on the coast of Ecuador, 8 km away from the beach. There are 18 horses. Some are youngsters, others broodmares, but the majority are riding horses. Our tours involve a lot of beach riding and also into the hills where there is a lot of wildlife; monkeys, lizards and birds. Dogs are a huge part of our life; we currently have 16 although this number varies with the number of rescue dogs and puppies.

Essential attributes:
• Happy, positive person who respects animals.
• Very experienced with horses if you are wanting to work with them. This is not a position for learners. You need to be an excell... more inside
