Help me build a food forest in the highlands of Chiriqui, Panama.
All organic of course using permaculture techniques with as much variety of edible plants, trees and fruits as possible.
You can commune with mother nature in this tranquil and semi-secluded hobby farm.
You will be weeding, pruning, planting, reaping, making compost and applying it. Landscaping a bit and you can exercise your artistic abilities. Please be in excellent health physically and mentally. There are abundant birds, flora and fauna as well as bugs, lizards and pollen. Not a place for a city person as there is not much to do as far as discos and bars. That you will find in David or Boquete which are a half an hour drive away.
You will need long pants and long sleeve shirt to work in or you will be eaten by bugs.
Good work shoes as well and no working in flip flops.
Time off can be spent touring the hot springs, river canyon, town of Boquete, horseback riding, hiking Volcan Baru or just relaxing under a... more inside

Hello!

We are a family-run small hotel / retreat center in Playa Grande, San Carlos. Playa Grande is a rural beach community on the western edge of the Panama Province in the republic of Panama.

We will need some help with customer support during our high season (Jan - April), and would love to have some travelers from HelpX help us! Jobs will range from helping waitstaff, reception and kitchen. We are looking for VERY patient, organized, and extroverted people who SMILE, a lot!

If you have previous experience in the service industry and would like to work at a small family run retreat center, please contact us.

In exchange we provide lodging in a room that will be shared with one other volunteer. The room has a fan, bathroom, and is very comfortable. It will be adjoining our house and is on the main grounds of the retreat center, so we do ask for people who are very respectful, quiet, and not here to party!

We also provide volunteers with breakfast, lunch and dinn... more inside

I am operating a bio, vegetarian and vegan restaurant and hotel that is connected to a bio finca which I intend to cultivate animals, tropical herbs and fruits using permaculture and aquaponics.

We are hoping to start a howler monkey sanctuary and we have been saving cats n dogs for sometime.

The hotel is close to one of the best beach surf breaks in Panama.

I need volunteers to help with the gardens, and animals and general cleaning and maintenance.

I warn volunteers that I am quiet literally in the middle of no where quite remote so do not expect much action.

Experience in permaculture or aquaponics a plus.

This is a small hotel with 6 bamboo and wooden huts just in front of the beach in Santa Catalina. It offers an amazing view overlooking the beach Playa Estero, which is also a great spot for beginner and intermediate surfers.
We could need some help in several areas; depending on your skills, your tasks could be in: reception/customer contact, renovations/maintenance, decorating, gardening, cleaning, cooking.
Your English should be fluent and it is ideal if you know at least some basic Spanish.

If you are interested in helping in a small hotel with a laid-back atmosphere, please contact us for more information.

We are looking for volunteers to start as soon as possible. A minimum commitment of THREE MONTHS and minimum age 23 is required. Unfortunately, due to bad experiences, we cannot accept couples.

The duties of a volunteer include attending clients and help around the shop. You have the opportunity to go diving at Isla Coiba and to further your education in the field of diving (OW, AOW, Rescue, Specialties,DM, Sidemount, TEC). We now have fast internet access at the dive shop.

Fluency in English is required and preference is given to those who speak Spanish (and obviously any other language is a bonus as well). We do not accept couples, families or qualified DMs/instructors as volunteers. While you do not need to be a qualified diver to come and volunteer for us, however, a love and passion for the ocean are a must. We are looking for people who are possible considering a future career in diving and want to learn as much as possible related to the dive industry. We offer intern... more inside

Ahoy!
I am restoring an old beautiful 65' steel ketch I intend to put in service to sail with youth in various projects in Panama and in the Caribbean to begin.

Sailing is being close to the Nature. It is the most ecological way to travel the world and besides its beauty it also sharpens the characters and has didactic impact on anybody, especially the youth.

Our sailing farm idea is to join together few principals:
- living of the grid and self sustainability by:
- traveling with wind power
- producing electricity from wind and Sun
- collecting rain water
- growing own healthy food on board
- manufact... more inside

Hibiscus Garden is a remote Hotel Resort on the wild, pacific coast of Panama. Owned and operated by a vibrant mix of young internationals and ambitious locals, we are located just outside of Santa Catalina, a trending fisherman's village internationally known for its amazing surf conditions. To Playa Lagartero we have direct access from the Resort grounds and Playa Estero in Santa Catalina, perfect for surfing, is only a 10 minute car or bus ride away.

At the time we have 9 operating accommodation units, hosting between two and four guests each. One of our main attractions is the garden that spreads spacious between the different buildings. Through our palm tree Garden we have direct beach access. As Playa Lagartero is located in a bay-like setting it's the perfect spot for a proper swim in the warm waters of the central Pacific! During low tide is the perfect opportunity to go horse-riding along the beach or to take the Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP) up the river which is running... more inside
