Ahoy!
I am restoring an old beautiful 65' steel ketch I intend to put in service to sail with youth in various projects in Panama and in the Caribbean to begin.

Sailing is being close to the Nature. It is the most ecological way to travel the world and besides its beauty it also sharpens the characters and has didactic impact on anybody, especially the youth.

Our sailing farm idea is to join together few principals:
- living of the grid and self sustainability by:
- traveling with wind power
- producing electricity from wind and Sun
- collecting rain water
- growing own healthy food on board
- manufact... more inside

Hibiscus Garden is a remote Hotel Resort on the wild, pacific coast of Panama. Owned and operated by a vibrant mix of young internationals and ambitious locals, we are located just outside of Santa Catalina, a trending fisherman's village internationally known for its amazing surf conditions. To Playa Lagartero we have direct access from the Resort grounds and Playa Estero in Santa Catalina, perfect for surfing, is only a 10 minute car or bus ride away.

At the time we have 9 operating accommodation units, hosting between two and four guests each. One of our main attractions is the garden that spreads spacious between the different buildings. Through our palm tree Garden we have direct beach access. As Playa Lagartero is located in a bay-like setting it's the perfect spot for a proper swim in the warm waters of the central Pacific! During low tide is the perfect opportunity to go horse-riding along the beach or to take the Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP) up the river which is running... more inside

We now offer a dorm for volunteers with 4 beds with AC, its hot in David and this is a big upgrade, we also built an outdoor kitchen with 10 burners, loads of counters etc etc its a huge hit and makes it a lot easier to cook in the cool outdoors..we do need folks who can speak some degree of spanish but will consider those that are just beginning. We have just added basic food for the volunteers like rice and beans and eggs..etc.

Started in 2008 by two New York City Musicians in david panama we like to consider this a backpackers resort. It has a pool as well as rancho bar and it attracts an interesting international backpacker segment that come to chill in the huge garden by the pool or chilling on hammocks, we are ideally located near costa rica and close to the fortuna rain forest as well as pacific beaches, hot springs at Caldera and boguete all within one hour. We need volunteer that will work a few hours a day in exchange for a dorm bed. Primarily a five hour shift at ... more inside

Help me build a food forest in the highlands of Chiriqui, Panama.
All organic of course using permaculture techniques with as much variety of edible plants, trees and fruits as possible.
You can commune with mother nature in this tranquil and semi-secluded hobby farm.
You will be weeding, pruning, planting, reaping, making compost and applying it. Landscaping a bit and you can exercise your artistic abilities. Please be in excellent health physically and mentally. There are abundant birds, flora and fauna as well as bugs, lizards and pollen. Not a place for a city person as there is not much to do as far as discos and bars. That you will find in David or Boquete which are a half an hour drive away.
You will need long pants and long sleeve shirt to work in or you will be eaten by bugs.
Good work shoes as well and no working in flip flops.
Time off can be spent touring the hot springs, river canyon, town of Boquete, horseback riding, hiking Volcan Baru or just relaxing under a... more inside

*Long-term support needed 6 months to 1 year*

This is a learning laboratory in creating community, building green businesses, innovating solutions for sustainable living, and sharing these innovations and learnings with the local community. In addition to creating our living spaces and the requisite water catchments, garden plots, chickens and other small animal areas, and food forests, we envision implementing initiatives such as shared workspaces for artisans and craftspeople, shared storefronts, local products, produce, crafts markets to strengthen local economies, and an eco-business incubator. All of this will be documented so that it can be improved upon and replicated and all of this has a huge social impact.

What's the project's status? We have a 9-room guest house that we operate commercially to help fund the project. It's also our center of operations and our co-living space. We recently purchased 21 gorgeous hectares of land about 10 km from the guest house where w... more inside
