I have an organic garden on a 20 hectare property in the state of Yucatan by the Gulf of Mexico near the beautiful fishing village of San Felipe. I have a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston (1985) and I developed many ways to be self-sufficient. From highly efficient 12 volt devices to an efficient wood burning cooking stove that seems to amaze everyone. The house is engineered so that it only needs a single 100 watt solar panel and just one deep cycle lead-acid car battery that lasts me about 5 years even though for convenience I often cook with an insulated rice cooker. See how I live off the Sun and how I build a concrete house for about the price of a car. Learn how to control weeds without chemicals, naturally fertilize the irrigation water and make any crop use 3 times less water while also eliminating soil erosion. See how I made tiles, concrete furniture, a solar oven, a solar water heater. I live without a fridge and I eat fresh food instead. De... more inside

My name is Victor and I have been teaching English to young people from my community for 8 years. I have a small school in downtown Tehuantepec near the market, banks, restaurants, and the tropical forest full of coconuts, bananas, and mangoes. Tehuantepec is located 20 minutes from the ocean beach community, Salina Cruz. I am located only a five minutes taxi ride from the local bus station.

I am looking for one person at a time to come and work with my students, which includes conversing with my students and teaching if you are able to. My students need more practice talking to people who speak fluent and clear english. I ask for five or six hours a day working with my students and in return I offer a place for you to sleep and one meal a day and a tour around the city to show you my local culture. You can stay for a minimum one week and a maximum of two weeks, but we can make a deal if it works out and you want to stay longer.
note; at the moment im just receiving couples ... more inside

A permaculture farm and art space located in a forest near Erongaricuaro, Michoacán, México. We are dedicated to food forest farming, sustainability, home scale and large scale permaculture techniques, organic gardening, art, and community living.

We live closely with nature, using minimum resources for maximum benefit and creative adventures! We are now focused on creating videos about art, permaculture, agriculture, and the various projects in Bosque Village.

We began in 2004 in over 80 acres of pine, oak, and madrone forest. We are off the grid, using no outside water or power. By adjusting our lifestyle we have enough power from solar panels and enough water from rain catchment. The solar panels provide enough power to provide wireless internet part of the day and LED lights at night. We built lorena stoves for cooking and built five cabanas, huts, an art studio, and six composting toilets. Wood fired sauna. Solar ovens. Food dehydrator. There are 5 friendly dogs here, on... more inside

We have two sites. One is in an urban setting in Cuernavaca, and the other is located in the rural area of Miacatlan Morelos, next to Xochicalco, close to Cacahuamilpa caves, Taxco, and South of Mexico City.

We are building our version of an Earthship with a green house. The Earthship is to house several vital cycles. A vital cycle is based on a water cycle where the plant kingdom and animal kingdom sustain each other. In our cycle we have fish whose droppings nourish the plants. The plants are rice, azolla, and lettuce mostly.
