Our mission is to help these children through an alternative school, with actions and activities that help improve their education and the self-esteem of children who have deteriorated because many of them come from Quechua migrant families with abandonment problems, domestic violence and exclusion because of the difficult situation (economic - social) and the cultural marginalization of their families.

We are a a small non-profit organization located in the low income district of La Esperanza in Trujillo, Peru our mission is to improve the quality of children`s life trough education and help dogs from the streets. Currently we have two projects running. the dogshelter and teaching english program.

TEACHING ENGLISH PROGRAM

Because public education in Peru significantly lacks funding, and the majority of the community cannot afford private schooling, the members of our community have very few opportunities for education. Thus, children are born into poverty and few are ever able to rise up and become empowered. Recognizing that many members of La Esperanza are born into this type of poverty and have few job opportunities, our organization`s founders decided to broaden the horizons of our friends and neighbors through providing education.

There is no greater freedom than knowledge. This belief defines the philosophy at our organization which offers English clas... more inside

DESCRIPTION
Our backpackers accommodation is located in Santiago de Surco, a beautiful residential area of Lima, very close to touristy areas like Barranco or Miraflores. We have space to host at the most eight backpackers per night. As our accommodation is small we try to give our guests a different and more personal service. We started hosting travelers as a hobby in 2009 and started this project in 2012. Since then our accommodation has become one of the most popular in Lima, with very high ratings on different travelers sites. As we are now quite busy we are looking for a volunteer who can support us a bit.

This is a youth soccer club, here in Huanchaco beach, Peru, for boys aged 7 to 16. The main goal of the club is to develop and place young talents on the U15 Peruvian National Team. The players are selected for their talent to form an elite team. The long-term plan of this club is to help develop the players so that they can play at the highest professional and national levels. As well as focusing on technical development, we place great emphasis on inculcating them with positive values.
We believe that being a good person is as important as being a good soccer player and that these skills can help them overcome the situations that they are often presented with. This is one of the major reasons why we are seeking volunteers. By creating a positive environment, our players thrive. The success of this approach can be seen by the fact that the majority of our first generation players (1998/99) are now playing at both the national and international levels.

I am currently living in a valley right next to a nice town called Cajabamba in Cajamarca. I have a piece of land where I have started to plant fruit trees. I live a simple happy life being within nature and I feel very connected to it. I love animals and minimalistic living.
I know this lovely area where I can take my guests for nice hikes and visits to nearby hotsprings.
I am a Spanish-English teacher. I taught Spanish in Europe for four years and then I moved to the mountains in Peru in 2016. Presently I am teaching Spanish on line.

- I need help with my fruit trees, light weeding, watering, maybe wood chopping and pruning. Building or working with clay is good too. Or just practicing English with me.

- I got instagram where you can see a bit more about my place.

*to get to my place you need to take a 'colectivo' from Cajamarca or a six hours bus if you are in Trujillo.
