Hello! :)

(about human rights crimes: due to many people being afraid to travel the Philippines... in my and all volunteers experience and opinion, it is very safe and I`ve never experienced anything worrying personally - if you pay attention to the regular rules of travel. The Philippines can be wild, disorderly but not more than many other counties. And with sad things happening here and in the west, I feel very safe here and can see many many Filipinos being very caring and attentive of your personal safety.
Volcano:
Similarly me and volunteers are very safe in legazpi regarding the volcano exploding. In fact it`s rather awesome to watch apart from the sad evacuation side. You can

Experience life in the remote village of Supo, Abra in the mountains on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. McTery is a 13-year-old boy who needs tutoring, specifically in learning to read. He attends school but needs more specific instruction in reading in order to catch up with his peers.

I am a middle school teacher from the US and tutored McTery for one month while he was living at another location in the Philippines. I traveled with him to the village of Supo and stayed with his grandparents for a short time. I am hoping to support McTery in his quest to learn how to read but resources are limited in the village. That is why I have set up this Helpx page, to seek international volunteers who would like to experience a rural village while tutoring McTery. I am in touch with McTery`s aunt and she has discussed this arrangement with the family. They have agreed to it and are grateful for any help they can receive in helping McTery learn how to read.

Although I... more inside

A large 44ft timber yacht which may require new crew mid August to October in the Philippines.
The position is for a female waterbaby, prepared to cook and run the galley and who can also help with light yacht maintenance, no experience required.
In return we provide sailing, diving, accommodation and a chance to live on a boat for a while. Preferably for 1 to 2 months or more.
Yacht is very well founded and Skipper has over thirty years of both local and international experience. Thanks to all that inquired.
Cheers
Michael

P.S. I was a host previously in Australia. My first/oldest 8 reviews below were for when I was in Australia.

ABOUT US...

Hello. My name is Rye . My wife Tina and I are former backpackers and travellers that decided to build a gazebo hammock hostel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

-----
My wife is a language teacher (to NGO workers in Palawan) and I am a university professor. We would welcome help and we also would like to interact with fellow travellers.

As for me, I loved living in other countries which led me to teach English in Colombia and Brazil. Living one year in Medellin and one year in Sao Paulo, I speak fluent Spanish and Portuguese -- hablo espanol y portugues como un nativo :)

I studied in Los Angeles for two years (middle school) and worked there as an adult for 3 years. (My English is American. Basically I have native level proficiency in 4 languages.)

From 2012 to 2015 my wife and I also worked in my family`s small family business in Cambodia, which enabled us to travel to neighboring Vietnam an... more inside

On our Farm we practice organic farming with different permaculture aspects as well as spiritual practices.
Both have to go hand in hand to provide a harmonious living in respect with mother nature and our co-inhabitants.
We do daily regular meditations and Yoga if possible. We expect our helpers to join and participate. Basically, to show an interest in ones own spiritual development.
Some dogs, a cat chicken and a rabbit give us company and need some care taking as well.

We are still a small family consisting of a Swiss/Philippino couple with two baby boys, one is 9years old and the other one year old. We are also interested to extend our community to a bigger one with similar minded people.

Life is still simple on our Farm, such as outdoor compost toilet and shower, until we have finished our indoor versions.
We have dogs, cats, chicken and a rabbit. If you have any allergies or aversions, please clear details before applying for a stay.
We also have a baby l... more inside

ABOUT US:
Dogs Mountain Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary located in the beautiful foothills of Naguilian, five hours north of Manila.

Our animal sanctuary was founded in 2006 by the late John Hughes, an animal lover and artist from Brighton, UK. Dogs Mountain Sanctuary was set up to rescue dogs from the cruel dog meat trade, and from neglect and abandonment on the streets of the Philippines.

We are a privately funded sanctuary, lovingly run by John's partner, Shirly and her sister, Ashley, with two live-in Filipino carers, and also helping to look after the daily needs of the 200 plus dogs and 10 cats that call Dogs Mountain home.

We are always looking for animal lovers who can volunteer their time to help care for the beautiful, courageous dogs of Dogs Mountain. Your love, care and affection means so very much to our dogs that have been treated very badly by humans in the past.

*** Full until Sep/Oct. We'll review volunteers again in late August. Thx ***

Exploring the Philippines on your own and looking for a place to stay safely while planning your nearby travels?

The town of Puerto Galera is located in Oriental Mindoro, the neighbouring island to mainland, from Manila it's only a 2h bus and 1h boat trip (though please allow 5-6h from airport due to connection and waiting time).

We are a German and Filipino couple in our mid-30th who run a beachfront coffee shop, bar and restaurant in the tourist spot white beach and are kept busy at our house in Aninuan, 1km away, by our 3 young German Shepherd dogs.

We are looking for some help in the household, mainly time spend with the dogs and us, but also including some cleaning after the dogs and common household help.
We do not ask for work in our store, this is all handled by our Filipino staff, though feel free to spend time there relaxing at the tourist beach.

In exchange for your help, we offe... more inside

My wife and I have founded an art residence in the center of Makati, Philippines. This project might be different from the other woofing projects, although it still contributed to an alternative lifestyle, where art can be accessible to everyone. Art Can usually only be seen in private galleries, but our place offers shows, workshops and concerts to everyone. We need volunteers to help us organise painting workshops, marketing, graphic design, display.

Come and visit us on your way back home. We need a carpenter who can use a router for some renovations. Willing to provide board plus food. visit this amazing place to dive, island hopping, swim with whales, up to you. We are a couple with 2 small kids. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in an exiting Eco Tourism project. We love travelling and we always welcome travellers in our home. Our beachfront attracts travellers from all over the world because of the breathtaking location. Take care always. :)
