I run private English school for children aged between 10 and 19 years old in a small city in West Sumatra. My goal as the principal of the school is to provide youth from my region with the English skills required to communicate better in the modern world, and therefore provide them with better opportunities in their lives.

I would like to welcome any fluent English speakers under the age of thirty to come assist my teachers in the classroom. You would help immensely by having simple conversations with the students and give them a real English speaking experience inside or outside the classroom.

All the students are very welcoming and curious about my visitors and I am certain that you will have a great experience while interacting with them. You can expect answering all their curious questions, pose for pictures and be invited for lunches, snacks and dinners.

Classes in my school run from 2pm to 6pm and mostly consist of two lessons/classrooms per day. I woul... more inside

Om Swastiastu,

Hello and welcome to - the first stages of a life betterment project in Bali for people with disabilities and their families. I am an Australian mother of a sixteen year old special needs young adult with Intellectual "impairment" and Autism-like renegade features which in total makes my not-so-little girl a unique force to be reckoned with.

With a huge affinity for music, rhythm, crazy dance and improv; squishing, peeling and tearing things...The aim of our existence is to create an environment where my daughter can have friends and be nurtured and encouraged to participate in activities that can help her develop skills she may need for the future in a social setting with other kids with disabilities and the general community.

My passion is learning and building with bamboo, recycled materials (mainly plastic trash but also recycled timbers) and making Earth-friendly and renewable technologies affordable and accessible to all. We'd like to be able to exp... more inside

Here we are always looking for inspired minds to upcycle the ordinary into extraordinary.

We have recently moved to a new location and we are still in process of building. The are 3 shared sleeping spaces, a compost toilet, and hot shower. Your stay also includes 6 gorgeous dogs, 3 cat's, and one very friendly chicken.

This programme was created in 2010 by a small group of English teachers who have been working for several years alongside Native Speakers. The reason that we created this programme is to help the local students and give them the opportunity to learn English with English speaking-people. Cianjur is a non-touristy place with few travellers, so meeting english-speaking people is particularly valued here.
In 2013, we were was recommended by The Lonely Planet Guide Book. The programme was founded by five locals; the team are enthusiastic and passionate about improving the local student’s English.
The team:
Irwan Kumis, who is fluent in English, has been teaching primary school English for 9 years, as well as working for several years as a guide for Western travellers. He previously worked for a German NGO, Forder-und Interessengemeinschaft, as a volunteer in post-Tsunami Reconstruction and Development on Sabang–Weh Island–Aceh. He studied Economics at a University in Cianjur and the... more inside

Hello everybody! My name is Hardi. I am a lifeguard for the volcanos hiking in Temanggung. I've been doing my job since 2008, but I've been hiking since 1998.

I've got interested in English because I have a lot of foreigners coming to my place for hiking.

I have a one son and one daughter. My son is really good in English. He will gladly accompany you when exploring around and tell you more about the life in our village. My daughter is still learning English but she will also happily show you around, take you to rice fields and introduce you to local children and neighbours.

We live in Pasar Kedu (Kedu Market), Temanggung. If you are coming here from Jakarta it will take you 8 hours with a night bus to come directly to our village. If you are coming from Yogyakarta you can take a bus from Jombor bus station to Magelang city (1 hour) and change the bus from Magelang to Temanggung (1 hour). Our place is 15 minutes from Temanggung, still with the same bus.

We have ... more inside
