Started with a family in Baljeet Nagar, Delhi, with one classroom, providing lessons for children in the local community. This family project has blossomed into a multifaceted NGO that aims to increase the life opportunities of the poorest members of the communities, through-out northern India.

We have different projects, with majority of them falling under four categories:-

TEACHING CHILDREN: WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT; COMMUNITY KITCHEN; VILLAGE EMPOWERMENT; CONSERVATION, etc. Volunteers can help out in any way they can. With children, this mostly means giving classes in English. For women and village empowerment, if you have a special skill to share, such as jeweler making, or sewing, you can give classes to share this knowledge with the local people, ultimately providing underprivileged families with the means to future self-employment.

We currently have three offices: New Delhi, Shimla,Jaipur, and Himachal Pradesh. To start your volunteer experience, you can come to one of t... more inside

We are a group of people with one goal; doing good work. We believe in "alleviating physical pain" as an objective net good. So for us, good work is helping alleviate suffering of those who can't help themselves.

Our farm is the home we have built in Himalayan Foothills to accommodate recovering injured stray animals, people who want to do good work, and an organic garden to provide a little bit for for all of us. The farm also supplies our product line which in turn supports our recovering animals. This is a karma yoga center, meaning "The Yoga of Work". Our focus is on the work we do.

We believe that every action for survival has a suffering footprint, especially any consumption. So, we believe in mindful consumption and making our survival purposeful by alleviating suffering.

Help

We are looking for people who will help care for animals at our stray animal recovery center (animal enrichment like walks, brushing, etc) and work in the farm. The work is very physical a... more inside

Hello

Who I am?
My name is Tushar and I am 34 years old from India... After two years of experiential learning / studying Eco-architecture and organic farming in Rajasthan, I decided to amalgamate both my learning genres and return to my native village, Uddhar (Maharashtra). My personal aspiration and intention is to do everything in a sustainable and earth friendly manner..

Looking ideally for people who want to stay at least a month! But open to shorter stays too - we've had a few excellent weekend helpers!

Please take care to reduce the amount of PLASTIC you bring to the farm. There are no facilities for waste disposal here so we need to keep unrecyclable waste to a minimum. We'd really appreciate it if you don't leave your broken or ripped shoes & clothes behind.

What's happening?
