We will be opening slowly after the lockdown and would like to get into the swing of things with some help. We need help for several chores as a b&b, the upkeep of a wonderful property, garden and forest. We ask for flexibility and a stay of at least two weeks. In return and on top of the exchange of food and lodging, you will love the area that offers the real France, a countryside that is pure, rich with history and architecture. We have big grounds, animals, and lots of walking trails around us with the most amazing views. You will also meet people from all over the world here.

As it's a big place, your duties will be variable. Your help will give me the time to work on my art and planning, etc. I also need help with culture projects that we host, like exhibitions, cleaning, organising, etc.

You will have your own room but share a kitchen and bathroom with others on the top floor. Sometimes you have to cook for yourself but food is provided.

Our nearest town is 3km away... more inside

June 2020: There is some upcoming demolishing work to do. It is a stone 'shed' with tiles on the roof that should be taken down pretty much completely.
We need to get a demolishing permit. I you feel that you need to hit some walls, let us know :-). Pictures on request.

================================================
We are running a B&B in the natural regional park of Morvan that is situated in the center of the Bourgogne (Burgundy) region.
We are located in the center of the park, less than 3km from the Lac des Settons (the biggest lake in the Morvan), on a pathway to a forest. Our concept is to offer a quiet and relaxing stay. Good night sleep is guaranteed!

Requests for help will vary by the moment because there is always something to do in and around a house! So if you have any sort of skill, just let us know.

DIY, cooking (If you are a Japanese chef cook, we want to hear from you!), gardening, painting, plumber, electricity renewal, lawn mowing etc etc..

We are Thomas (35), Johanna (37) and Kali (4 years old), we have only been installed on this land for a year. We are situated in a remote house surrounded by cow fields and trees, at the border of a small village 15 minutes from Cluny, 10 minutes away of St Bonnet de Joux, 20 minutes from Charolles. We have transformed our barn into an organic micro-brewery that we both run as associates, we are renovating the house, and we are starting a vegetable garden/orchard (type permaculture) we are also currently installing a small green house and a chiken coop. We have travelled quite a bit before setteling down here and we enjoyed learning skills while helping out other's projects. This is the reason why we deceided to join helpx. We can host 1 person at a time or a couple or a small familly, as our hosting facility is a cute 4 person caravane installed in the lilac trees corner on a our land. Of course we take meals together at home, the caravane allows our hosts to have more intimacy and... more inside

In the little village of Serbonnes, next to Sens, 100km away from Paris (direction South-East)I'm restoring the castle of Grand-Varennes and its Grounds.
As I've been working for a year, much has already been done.
The second floor remains to be done, it will be the floor dedicated to guests. We shall create 4 en-suite bedrooms, and an open-plan kitchen / living-room. Work to be done is electricity, plumbing, partitioning, skimming, painting ...
The park has been prepared to be turned into a permaculture ground. From the late winter, we shall begin with designing and planting vegetables and fruit trees.Work to be done is ... gardening !
I'm French, 52 years old, in a long term relationship with my partner who lives in ... California. I speak English, Italian, English and French.
The castle has all the modern comfort, there are five double bedrooms dedicated to helpers.

We are a couple of 30 years, living in a house on the banks of the Loire on a plot of 1.4 ha. Recently installed, we have many different and varied sites to lead. market gardening, masonry, small and large wooden constructions, land planning, planting and tree care, material recovery, alternative technologies.

You are welcome to share a bit of our daily life; you will be housed in the house, in a private room. We have little electricity but we can recharge the phones on a daily basis.

We eat everything, alcohol and cigarettes allowed in the house. Vegan is welcome if you take charge of the menus.

The organization of work is done by daily meeting at the end of the day, we use a table to list all the actions to take; some actions have higher priority, but it is possible to carry out secondary actions in quasi autonomy. Weekends are free, work is done on the spot; we do not ask for specific skills, but personal investment and the desire to learn are paramount.

The spoken la... more inside
