Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we`ve purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from our clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We`ve got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it`s 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son Maximilian, Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody with a good... more inside

We are sheep and beef, hill country farming 25 minutes east of Masterton in the Gladstone area in the Wairarapa. We farm 646 hectares and run 3900 sheep and up to 300 cattle. We have 3 children, Bella, 9, Sam, 7 and Sophia, 4. Richard is full-time working on the farm, whilst Becks is a mum firstly, but also works 2-3 days from home running her graphic design business. We are looking for people to help us around the house both inside and out as well as some light on farm work. Richard will try and explain what we`re doing on the farm at the time of year, give you a tour around the farm and where able involve you in some of the jobs when handling the animals. As mentioned we are 25 mins east of Masterton and only an hour and a half from Wellington. Accommodation is in with us, with a double bed (plus another mattress which can go on the floor). We'd prefer to host meat eaters as it can make meal times a bit easier for us, however its good to have a mixed diet nowadays!. We feel we`re ... more inside

The next space is from 23rd August. We live on a sheep, beef, dairy and deer farm. It is about 15 minute drive to closest town. it is not essential to have a car.

One of my biggest enjoyments is showing others what we cook for dinner and then sitting down and eating as a family. We can explain a few aspects of farming if you are interested in knowing more. We like talking while having a cup of tea. we want you to have a good time exploring the beautiful farm. From our kitchen we can see Mount Taranaki and Mount Rauhaphu
. It is not always viewable but early mornings and sunsets are most likely to see. We have 24 great reviews of past help x people. We can sometimes say yes to arriving within a couple of days.

You can come live with us for between 10 days and 18 days. just give me dates and we are fairly flexible unless i have a help x booked in. Once you have dates confirmed from Rachel that space is yours. Having girls that get upset when some of our help x fr... more inside

Your hosts : Jennifer and Denise

Are you in the North Island heading south or travelling north from the South Island/Wellington on SH2, from beginning of September onwards? We are looking for 1 or 2 helpers for up to 1 week, either a couple or 1 or 2 single helpers, to help with garden landscaping jobs.

We have a lifestyle block of 2.8ha east of Carterton, just 6km/6 minutes from the centre of town, 20 minutes' drive north to Masterton; 10 minutes' drive south to Greytown, and 20 minutes' drive to Martinborough. 1 1/2 hours' drive south to Wellington; daily train service to and from Carterton. This area is well known for its scenic tramps, rivers and bush walks. We have recently relocated and renovated an old villa on the site, on a quiet road surrounded by picturesque farmland. Hi there!!
We have a small life style property in the sunny sunny Sth Wairarapa consisting of paddocks, gardens, fruit trees, and lawns etc...
The living spaces are very tranquil - spacious gardens and pool area - can be quite a bit to maintain sometimes.
There are a few animals here as well as many on surrounding farms.
The property has two dwellings, as well as an art studio, plus sheds and other farm buildings.
Help is always going to be very appreciated with the maintenance as well as the ongoing creation and construction of the garden areas etc.

The Wairarapa is situated just an hour north of Central Wellington and we are located 15 minutes from the wine region centre of Martinborough where some of NZ`s great wines are produced
There are many cafes, restaurants and vineyards
The property location is quiet and peaceful, located amongst farmland on the river with its own private swimming spots.
Generally the area is mostly farming and grape growing, the climate is hot... more inside

FAMILY
James was brought up on the family farm in the area and worked as a mechanical Engineer for before traveling and working abroad extensively for about 5 years. Upon returning to NZ, James decided to return to farming to enjoy the outdoors and hands on work. He purchased Millstone Farm 8 years ago and has two kids, Elsa and Maxime who spend time with us on the farm and in town with their mum.

Emma was born and raised in London, UK. She left the UK in 2016, spent time living in Hong Kong before heading to NZ to get some experience in farming. She has been working on the farm since then and loving working outside in contrast to her former days as a chemistry student and English tutor.
We have chickens for eggs, six working farm dogs, two puppies in training and a pet dog who would really like to be an only child.

FARM
320Ha sheep and beef farm. We winter around 1400 sheep and 350 cattle and this year will be rearing 400 calves. Day to day work depending on the time of ye... more inside
