Next vacancy week beginning around 10 March 2019.

We are a middle aged, fit couple who enjoy meeting people from around the world. It would be a bonus to have assistance of 4 hours a day as we are often busy, and our lovely house and section has lots of challenges.

We live close to Wellington CBD, the Capital of New Zealand. There is good transport. We live 10 minutes by road to the Wellington railway station and the Cook Strait Ferry to/from the South Island (Interislander). [We will try and pick up helpers.] We live in the suburb of Johnsonville which is 20 minutes by rail (on a scenic line) to the city. Johnsonville has its own shopping centre, including all the banks. The Intercity buses have a stop at Johnsonville - (Naked Bus does not).

We can host a couple, or two friends, or an individual. There is a double bed. See photo.

Our section has over 200 trees and shrubs with nice lawns. It is a half acre, or 0.2 hectors. There are always tasks to do dependin... more inside

I am German and have lived in New Zealand for 20 years. My two children live here half the week (4yr and 16yr), which tends to be the more social half of the week (other half I work a lot). We have a Kiwi dog, 6 kiwi chickens and 2 Kiwi guinea pig.

Only five minutes drive from Hutt city, or 20 min to Wellington by train.

We live amidst a very beautiful native bush setting with a small stream running through the property, lots of Fantail, Kererus, Tui and other native birds. Enjoy unlimited access to the bush via walking tracks which go right to the top of the hills above Wainuiomata via fire breaks, or take a quick 20-minute loop walk to work up an appetite before dinner.

Right now I am looking for someone mainly for painting, gardening work and some cleaning. Anyone with woods skills would also be very handy. If you can handle a chainsaw let me know! You must be happy to work if it's raining as most work is outdoors.

The suggested arrangement is for you to work ... more inside

The Purple Cabin will be available from 4th MARCH... please get in touch if you would like to help us.

Paradise between the sea & the hills, in sunny Te Horo on the beautiful Kapiti Coast (see photo of Kapiti Island from Te Horo Beach).

We've built a comfortable place for you to stay (the purple cabin)... now come & help us get the rest of the property up to scratch.

We have cows, chooks, ducks & cats. Only small numbers and very easy to manage.

We grow as much food & meat as we can and enjoy a healthy outdoors life.

Come and help us with a few projects... lots of weeding currently as we have been away, gardens to maintain, paddocks to improve, and there are always jobs in the vege garden & orchards.

I regularly make bread & cheese, bake amazing scones and cakes and would like to share and learn from your culture.

We ask for five hours effort per day in return for staying at our place with great food, a warm bed and your own space. No smokers only.

Hi Helpexers It's summer in the Wairarapa mand we are looking forward to welcoming you to stay with us. Our small piece of paradise in the countryside close to Wellington. We offer space for a couple ideally, sorry our place is not suitable for two friends travelling together. The work we have is mainly gardening. Our house and paddocks overlook the countryside and the Tararua range with excellent hiking. We are walking distance to the beautiful heritage village of Greytown (recently won the title of most beautiful village in NZ) with its cafes and shops. To get further than the village you will need a car or van as public transport is very limited. The Pinnacles and Rivendell (both featured in Lord of the Rings) are with one hour's drive. We are also a short drive from Mt Bruce with its Kiwi house and white Kiwi. We have two friendly dogs and a friendly cat. It`s a 55 minute drive to Wellington CBD and a 70 minute train ride.
You would have either a self-contained cottage in ... more inside

////not available until week of 25 March/// Come and stay with our family of 5 on our lifestyle block in the leafy suburb of Te Horo, on the Kapiti Coast. We have recently moved back to NZ after travelling extensively for 19 years abroad.

There is some work to do around the property helping with general gardening and clearing the section/maintenance. It is largely manual labour and there is no need for childcare support as we have an Au Pair. Our house can be noisy thanks to our 5yo, 4yo and 11 month old (plus Milo our dog, Sugar our cat and 3 chickens) but we like to laugh and we have a lot of fun. We have a French Au Pair that also lives with us.

In exchange for 25 hours work a week you receive free accommodation (a large room that can either be setup as a King bed or two singles, with ensuite), food for breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided and we have wi-fi available.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions - many thanks for reading.

Cheers Ben, Ronel, ... more inside

Hello helpful people

We live 25 minutes walk to town (coming home is up hill). Ideal for someone wanting to explore Wellington. We have a great view of the city with an outdoor bath having the prime view position. Our spare room has one double bed and is suitable for a single person or a couple.

Peter likes to sail and Jane likes to garden and Mu the cat likes to cuddle.

We are in the middle of a big painting project and I have hurt my wrist and desperately need help. I have some people until the beginning of March - so am looking for help after that.

We look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks
Jane

This is a rural property so you must have your own vehicle.
Most work here is garden, farm, painting or cleaning related. In return for a night of accomodation we expect 4 hours work.
The accomodation you are offered is a privately situated, upmarket 2br gite with chefs kitchen (appliances, crockery & utensils). The kitchen contains some cooking/bkfast basics. You are expected to provide and cook your own meals; usually there is some produce available in the gardens, certainly a variety of herbs. There are many food outlets in towns 10kms north and south of our farm.
We are an older couple living on a lifestyle block, currently with some breeding horses and we're developing gardens for food & pleasure (potager, vege beds, herb gardens, wild flower garden & borders.)
Our helpx and wwoofer workers are expected to be independent but their work is valuable to us hence the cushy accommodation.
There are some beautiful places and walks of interest in our locality: Otaki River ... more inside

Looking for help for February to get garden and barn ready for a wedding.

Otaki is 1 hour north of Wellington by car on the Kapiti coast with its great beaches and bush. We live in a rural setting about 2km from the main state highway 1.

Our place is a specialist heritage rose nursery (all of our roses are grown from cuttings in planter bags and supplied by mail order all year round). We also propagate other plants from our 3 acre country garden (which is open to the public Oct to March). We sometimes have workshops on gardening and arts/crafts in our new barn. We are also a small wedding venue. We have a 4 acre run down pear orchard. We also have a few beef cattle and two young dogs. You would be taking meals with us in our beautiful heritage home built in the 1890s. You will be staying in a lovely warm room in our fully insulated barn (which has a kitchenette) with your own shower room and toilet. The room can be configured as a twin or double room.

Work involves gardenin... more inside
