Blueberry harvest has started! We've got an opening for a single for the week 16th-23rd Dec and then from the week starting 30th Dec if you're a nimble fingered person interested in how a family run organic orchard goes.
Accommodation is in the “blueberry cottage,' a self-contained flat that is part of the packhouse across the lawn from our house. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining room, computer and wifi, plus there's accommodation in the caravan.I stock the kitchen with good ingredients and between those and the orchard/gardens you assemble your own breakfast. We start at 830 and work for four hours. I make lunch at the house for everyone, and the afternoons are your own. I'll keep the larder stocked with whatever food you like, we don't eat much meat but can supply it, mostly you'll make your own dinners but when time and energy allows it we have dinner together at the house. We have bikes for your use and are surrounded by wineries, or there's always the hammoc... more inside

Looking for help 18/12 through to Jan.

This is a small dog kennel and cattery. Your day would typically start at 6am to help me in the kennels. Main duties exercising dogs, cleaning kennels, cleaning the cattery, playing with cats, bit of property maintenance at times. I breed German shepherds so there maybe puppies to help out with. You have your own self contained sleep out.

At the moment there is sheep work looming. Some wool shed work perhaps. Definitely staining of fences and general help on farm and in the house.

There is plenty of friendly animals,
Mount Adde is a family Hill Country Farm, breeding fine wool Corriedale sheep, beef cattle,

Greg is the son of Helen and Ron.

Greg has shifted into the main house and could use some help in gardens house for the right person.

We are a sheep and beef farm with a vineyard. Our farm is situated in the lovely Awatere valley with beautiful views and you will be welcomed into the family.

Prefer a week at , but will accept shorter times, absolutely non smoking and drug free.
We are about 30km south of Blenheim and 6km from the township of Seddon, and 4km from state highway one, South island. So it is easy to pick you up in Seddon or if it suits Blenheim.

Check the website for photos and an idea of our farm and family.

*** A helper needed mid December, Thanks for your interest ***

Hi there! We have a large modern house 70 metres from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment.

Our kiwi family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers/interns) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents.

You will get i... more inside

Hello from the Marlborough Sounds!
We now require help starting 27th December.
This is a small boutique accommodation lodge located on the popular Queen Charlotte Track. Full occupancy is just 10 people. Last season we had two French couples and a Canadian here for 3 and 4 months each. Originally they came for a week but loved it so much they made it home for months -(see latest testimonials). We need help with daily lodge cleaning, laundry, evening food service, gardening and grounds maintenance for 4 hours a day. This position would ideally suit a single person or couple. We will help you explore this wonderful area. If you like living by the sea, hiking, kayaking, swimming and fishing, this is a good place to come. We can also give you access to mountain bikes and kayaks for some adventures. You can drive to this lodge if you have a car, otherwise we organise boat transport. See our website link above for more about us and the property.
See you soon at Magic Mahana!

Kia ora!

We're a Danish/English (Kiwi) couple currently doing the kiwi dream - renovating a large old villa on a quarte acre. We’re renovating as sustainably as we possibly can, re-using most building materials and establishing a large organic vegetable and fruit garden. Ian is a builder and Linnea is a Landscape Architect, so both house and garden are being carefully renovated using professional methods. We both work during the day so you will need to be able to work independently some days.

The villa is mid-renovation and the garden is just starting out, and as such we always have a list of jobs to help with, such as demolition, pruning, mulching, gardening, landscaping and fencing. Tell us what your skills are, and we can find something that suits. We would never expect anyone to do any jobs they don't feel comfortable doing, and we will give proper training for any job that you might want to do.

Our home is our project and we would love to share it with you as our help... more inside

We are in the outer Pelorus sounds, boat access only, 2 1/2 hours from Elaine bay(French pass road, turn off at Rai valley)
We eat a lot of seafood and locally caught wild game and try to grow our own veges(not very well this winter). There is limited phone coverage, and we use solar power. Love of the remote quiet life is essential. We are not fully organic as Wakatahuri has been and to a limited extent still is a boat building bay with a working slip way.
The permanent residents in the bay are:
Gavin (4th generation owner of the land), fisherman and boat builder, tabletennis player and the boss
Natalie, chief cook and bottle washer, gardener, hunter, butcher and worker organiser and vague cleaner
Ruby the dog, wild goat and cattle chaser, food hoover
Doris and Smurfette the girl sheep, Rowlock (girl lamb), Scupper, Pig and Sid(boy lambs).
6 chickens Gertrude, Lilac, Apricot, JC, Penny, Dotty and some new babies. Curious George & Georgia the seagulls
Small goat LillyPing... more inside
