We are in the outer Pelorus sounds, boat access only, 2 1/2 hours from Elaine bay(French pass road, turn off at Rai valley)
We eat a lot of seafood and locally caught wild game and try to grow our own veges(not very well this winter). There is limited phone coverage, and we use solar power. Love of the remote quiet life is essential. We are not fully organic as Wakatahuri has been and to a limited extent still is a boat building bay with a working slip way.
The permanent residents in the bay are:
Gavin (4th generation owner of the land), fisherman and boat builder, tabletennis player and the boss
Natalie, chief cook and bottle washer, gardener, hunter, butcher and worker organiser and vague cleaner
Ruby the dog, Polly the puppy, wild goat and cattle chaser, food hoover
Doris and Smurfette the girl sheep, Rowlock (girl lamb), Scupper, Pig and Sid(boy lambs).
chickens Gertrude, Lilac, Apricot, JC, Penny, Dotty and some new babies. Curious George the seagull
Small goat Lilly... more inside

At home I live with my two busy boys aged 7 and 10. We are an active family and enjoy tramping, biking and getting out in nature.

I own and operate a coffee and ice cream cart on the Picton foreshore and attend Marlborough events.

I ask for help in the ice cream cart (during summer months) and with tasks such as fruit picking and preparation, cleaning, gardening, dog walking and child minding.

The helpx expectations are the usual 4 hrs help a day over 6 days per week in exchange for food and accomodation or 2 hours for accomodation only. We eat mainly vegetarian meals. I am flexible with the length of stay but prefer 1 week minimum.

The accommodation is a caravan alongside our house which has power and wifi. There is a a full sized double bed and a heater for use during the colder months. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared in the main house.

Located in central Blenheim. We live walking distance to town and close to the bus stop and Isite. So a great b... more inside

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help.

GENERAL INFORMATION
We grow most of our own vegetables. We make compost and use animal manures as fertilisers.
With winter we action a great progressive project to plant and regenerate areas with hundreds of native trees. Creating windbreaks, animal shelter, and native bird habitat. Come and join in on a creative and rewarding project. ... more inside

Private house and garden on the Esplanade in Kaikoura. 1 km from Encounter Kaikoura (Dolphin swimming, albatross watch) and 2-3 km from a seal colony. My home Was a mini backpackers for over 20 years, during which my late wife and I hosted over 3500 guests from 60 countries, some of whom I am still in touch with. I no longer take paying guests but value the company which Helpx offers me. Minimal work required, in garden or house, in exchange for accommodation in self contained flat.
Two bedrooms, shower, laundry and kitchen.
Meals not normally provided but the kitchen is well equipped. Free wifi.
Please don't send third party mms messages. I have been totally unable to deal with them. My general incompetence with tech stuff is only very slowly waning........
I have had guests here right through the Covid19 lockdown and it has been splendid. I am in no hurry for them to leave.

Looking for 1 - 2 girls to help with spring cleaning in August. Thanks

Hi there! We have a large modern house 70 metres from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment.

Our kiwi family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers/interns) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents.

You wi... more inside
