Sorry we can not accept any help due to being in level fur 'lockdown' due to the corona virus.
We are based on Banks Peninsula, close to Christchurch city. We are looking for some help with all sorts of projects- from small buildings, plumbing to making swings and slides as well as the usual work in the garden and campground. You get your own sunny cabin and we ask for only 3hrs work a day. Or if you have a tent or van, we ask for one hours work. You would provide your own food etc and cook for yourselves so you eat what and when you like. This would best suit a couple, or group of friends. Your own transport is ideal so you can use your free time to explore the wonders of Banks Peninsula.
We don't care when you start work, as long as it is for 3 or 4 hours a day. So if you like a sleep in, that's fine with us. We also have wireless for you to check emails and facebook. You provide your food so you eat what and when you like. It is best if you have your own transport so you can ex... more inside

24th March: APOLOGIES BUT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT HELPERS AT THIS TIME. STAY WELL, KEEP SAFE.

Our family of five lives on a 10 acre lifestyle block 25 minutes south of Christchurch on the way to Akaroa. We grow our own vegetables, fruit and animals on the farm, and usually cut the larger paddocks for hay. We enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible and are keen bikers, skiiers and climbers. The size of the property means there is always a lot to do so we are grateful for the time and energy our helpers give to us.

We offer free self-catering accommodation in our fully self-contained one bedroomed flat, plus use of bikes, swimming pool and unlimited wireless internet in exchange for 4 hours labour per day. You can also help yourself to whatever is in season - vegetables, eggs, grapefruit, figs, pears, plums, feijoas, rhubarb etc. Work includes light farm duties and gardening and is suitable for those with no farm experience. Typical jobs include tending the vegetable patch... more inside

Not taking in Helpers at the moment, sorry!

We live on a beautiful property surrounded by native bush. We have large gardens, fruit and nut trees, also berry fruits and more.

We have a stream running through the property which we'll eventually use to generate power, already have solar set up.

We're looking for happy easygoing people to help us out with daily tasks. We keep this place pretty well maintained so nothing is too hard or laborious.

Accommodation here is an almost finished self-contained colonial style sleepout, it has a loft which can sleep 2, also bedding for one or two downstairs.

Our daughter is Evie. . she's 8, is fluent in both English and Mandarin and is awesome. She's very friendly, fun and loves talking with and playing with other people.

We hope our Helpers can help for 4 or so hrs each day, and we don't usually ask people to work in the rain. Oh, also we cook nice meals!

Glen, Ivy and Evie.

Kia Ora.

**We are not able to host helpers during the Covid 19 crisis as we have extra family members staying including an elder and an immune-deficient family member to consider.**

We love sharing our paradise on a privately owned wildlife reserve with helpers from all over the world. It gives us the chance of virtual travel, learning from the wonderful people who temporarily share our valley.

Most of the help we need throughout the year is to maintain our gardens and orchards around the homestead. We operate sustainably which requires intensive labour and results in healthy food to share.

If you can help, we can offer accommodation in our rustic self-contained cabin. We can supply some homegrown food, however, you will need to be prepared to provide most of your own meals.

We are kiwis who have a passion for the natural environment, creative activities and sharing with people. We can share the flora and fauna of Banks Peninsula, fresh eggs, seasonal fruit and veget... more inside

**Due to the current level 3 and 4 alert in New Zealand as of 23 March, we are not able to accomodate any other helpers on the farm, until after the alert is decreased. Best of luck to everyone for finding a place to stay!**

We have just started building a new house on our back paddock and Will might like some help with the build if you are into construction, or firewood preparation if you've used a chainsaw before. Normally you would be living in our recently renovated retro caravan at the Okains Bay beach campground (which has bathroom and kitchen facilities), but with the current situation the campground is closed. Therefore you would stay in our lovely guesthouse and provided with two bikes and two paddle boards. The river is very tidal and leads into the surf at the beach, making for fun SUP adventures. The main tasks would be babysitting our 20 month old daughter, keeping the guesthouse tidy, mowing (less again towards winter), gardening, firewood chopping, work on the hou... more inside

We are raising our two teenagers on a small eco-friendly farm on Banks Peninsula, 35 minutes from central Christchurch.

We offer a farmstay, with accommodation in a warm open-plan sleepout. All food is provided. We will provide you with food for your own breakfasts. You are welcome to join us for lunches and your evening meal. We would like helpers to work for four hours per night stayed helping us to regenerate native bush, farm chores and gardening.

At the moment we would love your help with gardening, caring for native trees and general farm work.

We aim to be as self-sufficient as we can. We grow and eat some of our food. We're not vegetarians. Our heating and hotwater is a mix of solar and wood burners with wetbacks. We try to recycle our waste including having composting toilets.

We have great walking and biking at our back door. David travels into Christchurch each week day and is happy to pick you up at the museum. Absolutely no smokers please.
