Yes we are still here after afew quiet months during the lockdown and are happy to host Helpers on our lifestyle block who are currently living in NZ. We are a family of four, living on a small farm, 15 minutes west of Christchurch with a small mob of sheep and other farm animals.

We would love to hear from you if you want to help us develop our property, landscaping, stock work with Merino sheep and 30 very free range chickens, 3 dogs and 2 cats and helping around the house.

We are a short drive from Christchurch, so Helpers usually work 4 hours in the mornings with afternoons free to see the sites, the city or own interests but we are flexible with hours to suit Helpers if they take up a part time job. Your Own Transport would be preferable as we are 5km from any Bus routes. Cooking and/or Building skills would be useful for some jobs but not essential.

We can provide a comfortable room or flat for couples and information on how to make the most of our area.

So If ... more inside

SORRY. NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

Stay in the most beautiful hill suburb in Christchurch! Sea and mountain vistas and walking trails are just minutes from your door. The bus stop into town is outside the door, and the city centre is a 15 minute drive away.

We are Dave and Siobhan. Dave is a carpenter and all round DIY-er and I am a health professional. We absolutely love this stunning part of Christchurch, it is serene and peaceful and surrounded by stunning views, but also so close to the city. You will love it too :-)

We are looking for 2 hours help, for each night stayed (i.e. 14 hours per week), to be completed mostly at the weekend, but we can usually be flexible about when the hours are worked.
In return we would like to offer you a private room in a warm house with views of the mountains and sea, with access to a kitchen to prepare all your own meals (see below for more details).

You must be kind and considerate guests, respectful of our neighbours, reliable... more inside

As winter time approaches there are many outdoor garden jobs for helpers. I'm looking for someone to do some gardening and pick up the many leaves that are beginning to fall, also childcare and a few household jobs. I have a few 'fix it' jobs around the home if you have the skills and it is even better if you are also interested in children and like dogs.

Are you bubbly, enthusiastic, positive, honest, hardworking and willing? Are you organised and fun? You could be the perfect person to stay with our family!

I have four gorgeous children from the ages of 8-13 years. The children are usually with me for approximately 9-10 days per fortnight, the rest of the time they are with their Dad. The children love the cultural and social experience gained from having helpers stay. The children are into sport, adventure and music.

We have a five bedroom house. We have a bunk bed in our Rumpus Room for helpers to use. The Rumpus Room is a shared space a bit like a playroom, it a... more inside

Hi there :-) at the moment we are looking for a handy person to build a small tree fort for our children. Always have building work to do so please enquire if that is your skill set!

------

Information about us -
This is a large family home - we live in Heathcote Valley, which is a semi-rural location with a bus outside the gate to take you to the city- we are close to lyttelton, Sumner and our outlook is the port hills.

We are a married couple, both early 40s with two children aged 6 and 8. To stay here you must like children and not mind noise and mess! The girls will want to play games and be your friend but you're not obliged to do that.

We do the usual exchange - 4 hours work each for food/room/internet.

We have a simple diet - homemade muesli and porridge for breakfast, with preserved or fresh fruit if its available. Lunch is sandwiches made with fresh baked bread and we have fresh fruit and a chocolate stash - we ask that helpers serve yourself food ... more inside

At the moment we are only able to take people who have a van to sleep in, or need a van to sleep in. We have a van onsite that isn't road legal currently but is setup for sleeping in.
This could work well for people who need to sell their current van. Our live-in van would cost $40/wk plus 10hrs of work for 1 person. 20hrs for 2 people. There is a little bit of flexibility as to when these hours are worked, as dinners can be prepared in advance.

We need someone who enjoys cooking and would be happy to make our meals 5-6 days a week. We will have a relatively set menu but open to other options included :)

I need someone who is independent once shown what to do, as I have 5 boys to look after.
I don't mind if you prep everything in the morning and work a paid job during the day.
Please give me a text if you are interested.

We look forward to hearing from you :)

Hi! We're a fun family on a lifestyle block with horses, chickens, not far from Christchurch. We're into permaculture and working on extending that.

We have a separate 21 foot tiny home for you to stay in by yourself, this has a kitchen, lounge, bed and bathroom. It's away from our place, so you have some privacy.

You can stay in the tiny home on our property in exchange for 2.5 hrs work a day, 5 days per week.

We have a variety of work available, from building, to maintenance, animals, childcare, gardening etc to do and if you're open to trying something new, then you might learn some new skills too.

You do need to be willing to get stuck in and think on your feet, although all instruction will be given.

We can't offer meals at this point (tho we'll have you round for some social meals), but cooking facilities and fridge are in the camper.

We're open to all nationalities, as long as you can fulfill the above requirements.

We live 3 minutes drive from a small... more inside

We would like help in our large garden:weeding, pruning, tidying and planting.
Presently we need help splitting and chopping logs from felling a large tree.
People who are happy gardening and able to be independent with their spare time day and evenings are most welcome. Please take note that we are quiet people. We don't socialize late into the evening as we work during the day. There is a tv room for guests. We request non smoking guests. We like people to do 4 hours work a day or negotiate more hours with more time off. We are happy to provide food and accommodation to reliable workers and friendly people. On a day off we expect guests to go out for the evening meal.
