POSITION OPEN but interest has been expressed. Property is a botanic garden of Australian native plants, many rare or endangered, plus an acre of plants for cut flowers, mainly proteas, banksias and tea trees. Lots of wildlife. We need help with weeding, mowing, mulching, planting and general clean up after recent storms. Accommodation is a very comfortable, private, fully set up kitchen in a studio style cottage with a queen size bed. It is separate from the main house. It was a very popular AirBnB destination. The property is rural; half way between Wonthaggi and Inverloch so having a car is necessary. The coast is 10 minute drive where beaches, coastal walks & surfing are to be enjoyed. We would like a stay of at least two months but that is flexible. We hosted 10 cultural exchange students whilst our children were growing up. Conditions are also flexible and would be agreed through discussion. Non-smokers.

Our place is in a stunning setting amongst the native bush and wildlife of the Strathbogie ranges. It's a great space to relax, explore, and there's often a fun local event to attend.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (9 and 10 years old). We have a large garden, grow a lot of veggies, have an orchard of over 100 trees (every type of fruit imaginable), bee hives and about 50 free range chickens. We are both teachers (music and art) and I play saxophone in several bands most weekends (afrobeat, lots of west and South African styles, jazz, funk, soul and more), so if you like good music and visiting Melbourne, this might be a good place for you.

We have a friendly dog and a cat, and lots of beautiful friends nearby, in Melbourne and all over. There are lots of nice spots nearby for swimming (Polly McQuinns waterhole and Gooram falls), walking, riding and adventures. 15 mins to lake Eildon and an hour to skiing at Mt Buller (bus stop a few kms down the road). 30 mins to eit... more inside

DISCOVER WILSON'S PROM and SOUTH GIPPSLAND WHILE STAYING WITH US
When possible contact us via our mobile phone :)

A beautiful place to experience the Australian native flora and fauna. Our land is part regrowth native forest, part fruit trees and flowers. We are 30 minutes from Wilson's Promontory and the beach, 20 minutes from the coast. Perfect place to relax and discover spectacular landscapes.

As a young family we moved into this beautiful property just over a year ago. Our dream is to be self-sufficient while being able to respect and protect the native eco-system that Australian bush has to offer. We are learning as we go the principles of permaculture. We are trying to use native plants as much as possible. We are hoping to reach one day zero waste.

We are looking for one or two volunteers at a time to help in our garden and veggie patch using permaculture and bio-dynamic principles, looking after fruit trees (pruning, picking). We also need... more inside

Two specific trades wanted: An electrician and a house painter. See below for a description of jobs and then further below for a description of the house and hosts.
----------

Request 1: Electrician. Odd jobs around the house (new power points, new outdoor lights, revamp garden lighting system).

Request 2: House painter. Needs to know what they're doing. We are very hands on, and would like to start repainting our house, but it is daunting so we need a professional to help, give us advise, start on the painting and then decide how long he/she wants to stay. It's a big house, so it could be a long stay if we both agree.

++++++++

Our house is incredibly luxurious and in the lively suburb of St Kilda. We are 500m from Acland Street (with its cafes, restaurants and bars) and close to St Kilda Beach. There is a tram at the end of our street that takes you to Melbourne CBD in 20 minutes. If you want a fabulous Melbourne experience, St Kilda is it!

Our house is huge - 400... more inside

Due to the current situation we have not been hosting over winter this year. If the current restrictions in Melbourne are relaxed at the end of September, and of course if it is allowed, we will consider taking on a helper.

We are now located in Somerville, approximately 1 hour 20 minutes by train or 1 hour 30 minutes by car from central Melbourne. Somerville is south of the CBD on the Mornington Peninsula and is a small town with modern facilities. The location provides excellent access to the beaches both surf and swimming, wineries and tourist attractions the region has to offer.

Our home is in a quiet location close to the township. It is spacious, modern and comfortable with excellent facilities including a solar heated swimming pool. We offer meals and a private comfortable bedroom with a queen size bed and access to a seperate spa bathroom. Please note there is only one room available with one bed so if you are not a couple you would have to be comfortable sharing a... more inside
