COVID 19 INFO:
Due to the covid 19 situation right now, we can only offer longer terms of helpX. We have a workers cottage which is a partly furnished, rustic old house, you would need to isolate in there for 10-14 days to make sure we are safe to not infect each other before we can really get to know each other. Since we're 70km away from the next shopping centre and it's quite challanging to provide for ourselves with all the restrictions and shortages, we ask you to provide your own food. So we just ask you to help a couple of hours in exchange for a safe place to stay during this crazy time. The workers cottage has a working kitchen, with breakfast bar and stools, couch, and beds to sleep 4. We also have a blow up mattress. You would need to bring bedding, kitchen utensils and a fridge. If you're interested i can send you some pictures. Looking forward to hear from you

Hello,,I am offering a place for someone who may be without a safe isolated place to stay while this current situation runs it's course. genuine offer, we can make adjustments to suit your situation. This property is on the Condamine river, just east of killarney. There is really great house and cottage already, off the grid. The river is running, there are Platypus, and many birds, wallabys, lizzards and so much more. If you are interested in being away from the rat race, and living in a natural enviroment for awhile, please contact me. I am thinking, due to the current situation, I would lean toward someone wanting to hold up away from crowds and cities for awhile. There are the usual jobs to maintain the the property, and prepare for a winter crop of fresh food. This is a beautiful location with abundant trees, bordering national park, and many of natures gifts. Contact me for more details. Come join us for awhile. Best wishes and keep smilin, Wayne

We have an established 4.2 acre organic sub-tropical permaculture farm in the heart of Ravenshoe town- the “highest town in QLD”. I have chickens, turkeys, a cat and a beautiful 7 year old daughter, who I homeschool.

Come and learn and grow with us. We need help with weeding, mulching, pruning, mowing, compost making, fertiliser making, sewing seeds, working chopping wood, establishing the plant nursery, caring for the chickens…. etc etc. If you are a more skilled worker then I would love help building and fixing tools and things. If your strong and keen I always have trenches to dig....

Because we are homeschooling and I am also doing my Bachelors Degree and managing two properties, if anyone loves kids and wants to sometimes do fun activities and projects, drawings or songs etc with my 7 year old daughter, this is always welcome. It takes a lot of pressure off me.

We also have a small off-grid block of land 20 minutes away in Silver Valley- dry open Eucalypt forest. 8 ... more inside

***** Things are changing VERY fast due to Caronavirus. It is highly likely that we will be all locked down very soon in our regions (like in WA). May I suggest to all of you if you are seeking harbour to ride this out, please you need to secure long term accommodation IMMEDIATELY. This is a very serious situation. The best way is to search through the hosts in the area you are in now & contact them directly, rather than just put up a post. Good luck & take great care! ***** We have 1 vacancy for 1 female, (male/female accom - have 1 male backpacker here already sorry), must have experience with HORSES, must be in QLD. We have been hosting since 1998 and we're grateful to say we've had some really exceptional visitors from many countries. We are lucky to have a beautiful farm, our property is 14 acres in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, just on the ocean side of Mt Tamborine. There are horses which you may like to feed and brush, peacocks and gardens. We don't have dogs so we ... more inside

We are not able to take any volunteers during the virus lock down. We are finishing our building of a rammed earth house using natural building techniques and developing our permaculture garden. The house is off grid in beautiful bushland and our electricity is produced from our solar panels. Our filtered drinking water is collected off the roof and other water is pumped from the river. We are inland, at the north of the Sunshine Coast, just one hour from Gympie and an easy bus ride from Caboolture (near Brisbane). The bus costs $53.

We need volunteers to help us with carpentry, putting latches on windows, filling gaps above the walls and putting the ceiling in the bathroom. We will work alongside you. The gardening is helping to establish a food forest plus weeding, planting and picking vegetables. We welcome vegetarians! We have recently got 2 bee hives and have our first honey! We are currently full sorry.
We are a fun family with a 2 1/2 year old, sheep, parrots, chickens and ponies. Dave is a mechanic and Claire is a performing artist. Our interests include juggling/fire dancing/hula hooping and many circus related disciplines, music, djing, animals and force free animal training. Plenty of wool from our sheep available to indulge in wool crafts like spinning, knitting or felting.
It is a lovely area with Red Tailed cockatoos in abundance, platypus and other interesting creatures can be found.
