Hi There,

We (a couple and 3 dogs) have a unique territory house which we are slowly developing and renovating. A tranquil oasis in Darwin’s rural area.

We need some help with the gardening and general household stuff.

In return for a couple of hours work a day (excluding weekends) you would get a bedroom with a comfy queen sized bed with aircon and own entry. You will have access to a shared bathroom, pool and kitchen/living.
Some meals can be negotiated.

Our house is 40km out of Darwin city within the rural area and there is no public transport. So your own car is a must.

Not a party house, although a few sneaky drinks are more than ok. Outside smokers only.

We are a working cattle station of 4600 sq km, situated 3 hours South of Alice Springs.

We are looking for people willing to help with all aspects of station life. This includes, but isn't limited to cattle work, mustering, fencing, feeding of animals (calves, horses, dogs, chickens, cats), meal preparation, and gardening. Everyday is different, so there will be plenty of variation in tasks from day to day.

If this sounds like you and you would like to experience life in the Australian outback and are an energetic, easy going and adaptable person, please contact me.

Accomodation is in modern self contained dongas (air-con and private bathroom) and all meals are supplied

Ideally we would like you to commit to a 2 week stay due to our location. Any stay longer than 4 weeks need to be negotiated by us.

The Greyhound bus leaves from Alice Springs every day, and stops at the local roadhouse . We can arrange to pick you up there.

We hope to meet you soon!

We are a family of five living a self reliant lifestyle, on a small isolated block. We produce our own food, including goat's yoghurt & cheese, wild or raised meats, eggs, fruit and veggies from our established gardens. We have no income from our property as we are always wanting to become more self-sufficient, so guests must be self motivated and hard working, and be able to contribute skills. We do not allow the use of chemicals (shampoo, sunscreen deodorants etc...) as our grey-water goes directly onto the food gardens, but we do supply our own home made organic soaps and creams. Our aim is to create a co-operative living space, so opportunities arise for short and long term or permanent stay. We have three children who we homeschool using natural learning methods. Travellers with children are very welcome. Please visit our website (www.speargrass.org). We are randomly online and prefer telephone contact to make arrangements.

Self-isolate with us?

Professional couple with toddler seeking home stay helpers!

We are an eco-conscious hippie-professional couple in Darwin looking for some help in exchange for accomodation. We speak some German and Spanish.

Our little boy is two and a half and very active and social. Primarily we would like help looking after him (active engaging play) and some cooking, but help with taking care of the house and garden is also a possibility - cleaning, gardening, renovations. Single helpers only. Long term commitment required at this stage, so compatibility is important! 3-4 hours of work per day in exchange for accomodation and meals. You'd need to be available and fit around our schedule.

Our home is cool and shady, with a large pool. We live upstairs and you would have the downstairs enclosed area to yourself 99% of the time. There is a private room currently with a queen bed, storage and aircon. There is also a door-less "yoga room" and a huge living area. The d... more inside

***UPDATE: I am not taking helpxers at the moment as I have a quite small house and it is difficult to maintain distance. But I also don't want to see anyone stranded. If you are in a difficult situation and desperate for somewhere, you can try emailing me and I will see what I can do***

Hi. I can offer a quiet, air-conditioned room in my house in Darwin's suburbs, close to the airport. There's a peaceful garden, pool, chooks and a somewhat neurotic dog!

I have a pushbike you can borrow and can probably get a second one if needed.

Looking for help for 1-2 hours per day doing various household jobs (cleaning, gardening, vegetarian cooking, vacuuming the pool or general pottering around). People with gardening skills always welcome!

Special job: I'm looking to put up a shade sail so if you are a builder / engineer or someone who can help me with measurements and putting up poles, that would be fantastic!

We are a family of 4 and run a cattle station 90 km south of Katherine as well as 500 acres 20 km west of Katherine. Our cattle operation involves low stress stock handling using horses and dogs supplemented with motorbikes and helicopters. We are currently looking for someone with a rural background that has some experience with machinery and is able to operate a tractor. Upcoming projects for the season include putting additional waters in for livestock due to our dry 'wet' seasons as well as mustering and processing cattle. Other jobs could include domestics such as cooking & cleaning and/or general farm work such as feeding calves and weaners as well as bore & lick runs. Things change on a regular basis depending on the priorities but there are always things to do for anyone that is keen to have a go and experience the vastness of what outback Australia is really about. It's a team environment where everyone pitches in but there will be times when you will be working independe... more inside
